We need salt to survive. It is a mineral lump consisting the bone, teeth and blood and it stimulates metabolism and helps generate red blood cell. Bay salt is put in the empty bamboo stem and covered with red clay before heating it up with strong fire to gain bamboo salt. Cheongwangbong Bamboo Salt in particular among many bamboos salts uses the bay salt in the western coast that has drained the bittern for 3 years and the king bamboos grown around Jiri Mountain and the southern coast. The salt is fired up with pine tree wood at 1,000¡É. 

The bamboo ashes are shaken off and the stems are ground to be put into empty bamboo stem again to be heated up. The procedure is carried on 8 times and at the 9th time melted at 1,800¡É to finally gain Cheonwangbong Bamboo Salt. The salt is alkaline and contains rich calcium, magnesium and kalium which are good for curing various diseases including cancer. It is also good for atopy and rhinitis. 

When the excellent effect of bamboo salt was spread through the media, numerous similar businesses sprang up like mushrooms after rain which decreased the overall quality and created bad images of the industry. The media then turned its back from the industry and many of them closed the business as a result. 

But CEO Park stuck to his guns and kept the excellent value of the bamboo salt. “I actually had a sense of duty to provide healthy ingredients to the people and this made me keep carrying on the making and supplying despite the harsh market environment. As a result, Cheonwangbong Bamboo Salt has grown to be selling various other bamboo-inspired products such as bean paste, pepper paste and soy sauce.
