최근 불거진 생리대 안전성 문제는 그간 소홀히 여겨왔던 여성건강에 대한 국민들의 경각심을 일깨워줬다. 외부 오염물질 유입에 취약한 여성의 신체구조상 더욱 세심한 관리와 케어가 필요하다는 인식이 확산된 것이다. 이러한 가운데 여성의 75%가 일생에 한번쯤 겪는다는 ‘질염’을 예방할 수 있는 제품이 등장해 이목이 집중되고 있다. 국내 유일의 식물성 줄기세포 활용 프리미엄 여성청결제 ‘제나셀 슈퍼셀 세럼’이 바로 그 주인공이다.
여성건강 위협하는 ‘질염’, 사전 예방 위해선 꾸준한 관리가 필요해
일교차가 심해지는 환절기에 접어들면 신체 면역력이 저하돼 각종 질병에 노출되기 쉬워진다. 여성의 감기라고도 불리는 ‘질염’은 바로 이런 시기에 찾아오기 쉬운 대표적인 여성 질환 중 하나다. 급격한 기온의 변화로 인해 몸에 피로감이나 이상이 생기고, 이에 더불어 초가을 레깅스, 스키니진 등 통풍이 잘 되지 않는 하의가 유행하며 곰팡이나 세균, 박테리아가 번식하기 좋은 환경을 제공하기 때문이다. ‘질염’은 크게 칸디다 질염, 세균성 질염, 트리코모나스 질염 등으로 나눠지며, 이 중 가장 흔하게 발생되는 칸디다 질염은 여성 3명 중 2명이 적어도 한 번은 경험하고, 5~10%는 반복적으로 감염된다고 한다. 이러한 질염에 걸리게 되면 질 분비물의 양이 많아지고 냄새가 나거나, 외음부가 가렵고 따가운 증상이 공통적으로 나타난다. 질염을 방치하면 심한 염증으로 확대될 수 있으며, 정도에 따라선 심한 통증을 유발하거나 만성질염, 자궁경부염, 자궁내막염, 골반염 등의 질병을 초래할 수 있고, 임산부의 경우 유산이나 조산의 위험성이 커질 수 있기 때문에 사전 예방을 위한 세심한 관리와 지속적인 관심이 반드시 필요하다는 게 대다수 전문의들의 공통된 의견이다.
그러나 생식기에 대한 이야기가 치부시되고 있는 우리사회에서 ‘질염’은 대다수의 여성들에게 숨기고 싶은 치부로 여겨져 온 것이 사실이다. 실제로 많은 여성들이 인터넷이나 온라인 매체 등을 통해 부정확한 정보를 습득하고 있으며, 이에 따라 최근 몇 년간 자가 관리를 위한 여성청결제의 판매량이 급증하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 문제는 건강을 지키려했던 이러한 행동이 오히려 여성 건강을 악화시키는 결과가 되기도 한다는 점이다. 시중에 판매되고 있는 대부분의 여성청결제는 ‘세정효과’를 위해 알칼리성의 성분을 포함하고 있으나, 여성의 질 환경은 외부 세균 유입을 막기 위해 pH3.8~4.2 정도의 약산성으로 구성되어 있다. 즉, 알칼리성 여성청결제의 잦은 사용은 오히려 질 환경의 pH 밸런스를 무너뜨리며, 질염을 유발하는 각종 세균이나 박테리아로부터 더욱 취약해지는 결과를 불러온다는 것이다. 제나인터네셔날의 ‘제나셀 슈퍼셀세럼’은 바로 이처럼 국내 여성건강의 열악한 현실에 대한 안타까움과 본인 또한 여성의 한 사람으로서 이를 바로잡고 싶다는 황지연 대표의 바람에서 출발했다.
식물성 줄기세포와 천연원료 성분의 100% 천연제품, 여성들의 진정한 아름다움을 추구하다
본래 아이들을 가르치는 교사였던 황지연 대표는 우연한 기회에 한 글로벌 네트워크 그룹이 국내 시장에 처음으로 출시한 ‘줄기세포 질세럼’을 소비자로서 만나게 되었고, 이것이 대한민국 여성들의 삶을 크게 변화시킬 수 있음을 확신했다고 한다. 직접 판매에 뛰어든 이후 조금씩 고객층을 확대해 나갔으며 국내 수입된 초도물량의 소진 후에도 여성건강에 대한 인식이 턱없이 부족했다. 시장도 협소해 추가물량이 더 이상 수입되지 않는 상황과 국내의 인체줄기세포의 인허가 문제 등 사정상 수입제한으로 인해 보급이 중단된 후 국내에서 자체개발한 동종제품을 약 98% 가량을 도맡아 여성들에게 줄기세포 질세럼을 소개하는 역할을 하던 중 이 또한 국내제조사의 여러 가지 여건으로 생산이 중단 되었고 그간 제품을 직접 사용하며 느꼈던 점이나 고객들의 피드백을 바탕으로 더 뛰어난 제품을 직접 만들어 공급함으로써 ‘진정한 여성의 아름다움을 추구’하겠다는 목표를 세우고 2017년 2월, ‘㈜제나인터네셔날’을 설립하기에 이르렀다.
국내·외 연구기관과의 오랜 공동연구를 통해 제나인터내셔날이 선보인 제품이 바로 ‘제나셀 슈퍼셀세럼’이다. 황지연 대표의 영문이름인 ‘제나(Jena)’와 줄기세포를 뜻하는 ‘셀(Stem Cell)’에서 이름을 딴 ‘제나셀 슈퍼셀 세럼’은 이전 제품보다 안전하고 안정적인 데이터를 가지고 있는 식물성 줄기세포를 주요 성분으로 한 국내 유일의 프리미엄 여성청결제다. 황 대표는 “나뭇가지를 자른 곳에서 새로운 가지가 자라는 강력한 재생력을 ‘전형성능’이라고 합니다. 슈퍼셀은 바로 이러한 식물의 전형성능을 활용한 제품으로서 식물성 자가치유 줄기세포를 베이스로 각종 천연성분을 추가, 여성 시크릿존의 건강은 물론 피부재생, 보습, 탄력, 피부톤까지 한 번에 관리할 수 있는 99.98% 천연성분 제품입니다”라고 설명했다. 실제로 슈퍼셀은 토마토와 인삼캘러스배양액 추출물과 약30여종의 줄기세포의 근간을 이루는 펲타이드 성분들이 추가되어 있어 뛰어난 피부재생 효과를 보이며, 허브나 한약에서 추출한 황련, 산초나무, 어스니어, 라벤더, 다마스크장미꽃오일 등을 함유해 피부 탄력과 미용, 보습면에서도 고객들의 높은 만족도를 이끌어내고 있다. 황지연 대표와 함께 제나인터내셔날을 이끌고 있는 이길재 대표는 “저희 제품은 ISO9001, ISO14001 인증을 획득한 최고의 환경에서 배양된 줄기세포를 토대로 생산되고 있으며, 국내산 생약성분과 프랑스 등의 유럽에서 안정성을 검증받은 성분만을 사용했습니다. 피부 무자극 테스트를 완료했으며, 지난 3월에는 미국 FDA 의 수출허가등록 인증을 획득해 그 품질과 안정성을 인정받기도 했습니다”라고 설명했다. 현재 슈퍼셀은 소비자들의 뜨거운 호응 속에 출시 5개월여 만에 국내에서 가장 많이 판매되는 줄기세포 질세럼의 입지를 굳히고 있으며, 중국과 러시아, 동남아 시장으로의 진출을 위한 단계도 밟아나가고 있다. 중국시장의 경우 중국 최대의 모바일 메신저 위챗(WeChat)을 통한 수출계약이 성사 직전에 있는 상태다.

Vaginitis can be prevented by continuous management
We are exposed to various diseases as the in-between seasons are nigh due to temperature difference. Often called as a cold for women, vaginitis occurs during these in-between seasons. The temperature difference causes fatigue and wearing leggings and skinny jeans with relatively bad ventilation also can create an environment for germs and bacteria to grow in the sensitive area. There are three kinds of vaginitis: candidal, bacterial and trichomonas. 2 out of 3 women reported to have experienced the candidal among which 5% to 10% are repeatedly infected.
The symptoms are excessive amount of vaginal discharge, bad smell and itch and stinging on pudenda. When left untreated, it can grow as an infection or cause chronic vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis and pelvic inflammatory. If you are pregnant, there is risk of miscarriage or premature birth.
It is regretful that Korean culture rather has tabooed talking about the diseases relating to genitals especially for women. What is worse is that many women gather wrong information online and, with the sales of feminine cleanser increasing, they are exposed to side effect.
Most feminine cleansers sold in the market contain alkali substances for washing effect but human vagina contains pH3.8~4.2 of sub acid to prevent germs from entering. In other words, alkali destroys the pH balance and exposes vagina to various diseases. Introducing ‘Jena Cell Super Cell Seum’, therefore, was the result of CEO Hwang’s awareness and will power to make healthy feminine cleanser.
100% natural feminine cleanser made of stem cell and natural substances
Hwang used to be a teacher but came to know ‘stem cell vagina serum’ of a global network company by chance. She was sure that it would hit the market and change the lives of women in Korea. She started to sell the product but the market was not as easy as she predicted. In addition, Korea’s regulation on human stem cell played negative in importing the product and she started to sell instead 98% of similar domestic products. But bad became worse as the domestic manufacturers stopped supplying for some reason and Hwang eventually decided to make her own product based on her experience and knowledge built during the selling. She established Jena International in February 2017 under the slogan ‘Pursuing the true beauty of women’.
Jena International carried out a joint research with research institutes home and abroad for a long time and introduced ‘Jena Cell Super Cell Serum’. Jena is Hwang’s English name. The product is made of vegetable stem cell that has more safe and stable data than the existing products and it is Korea’s only premium feminine cleanser.
“The regenerative power of a cut tree branch grow a new branch in different place is called ‘cell potency’. The super cell has used this ‘cell potency’ and is made of vegetable self-healing stem cell with added natural ingredients that can regenerate skin and promotes moisture, elasticity and skin tone. It is a product of 99.98% natural ingredients” explains CEO Hwang.
Some of the ingredients to name are tomato, ginseng callus culture medium extract, 30 kinds of peptide that are the foundation of stem cell, coptis, prickly ash, usnea, lavender and damask rose oil.
“The product is obtained ISO9001 and ISO14001 and is being produced with stem cell cultivated in the best environment and the ingredients are approved by European countries including France. It passed non-skin irritant test and obtained an export license from the U.S. FDA last March” explains CEO Lee.
The super cell has become the bestselling stem cell vaginal serum within 5 months of its release and CEOs Hwang and Lee are pushing forward pioneering the markets in China, Russia and South East Asia of which WeChat China is at the tip of signing a contract.
Also, Jena International released ‘Reserve Essence’ priced less than ‘super cell’ so that more women can enjoy the benefit of the product at good price. Most recently, Jena International released ‘Jena Cell Volume Lift Facial Cream’ and ‘Jena Cell VL Gravity Body’ that can improve skin laxity, wrinkles and body line.
All of these products also contain vegetable stem cell alongside 30 kinds of natural ingredients and 10% of ‘volufiline’, patented development Sederma (France), the largest amount in any single product in Korea. The users can experience improvement in subocular skin and wrinkles around mouth/forehead/neck as well as volume of the hip and the body line.
