대전광역시, 일자리카페 ‘꿈터’ 확대 운영  
대전광역시는 새 정부의 일자리 정책 가속화로 새로운 형태의 일자리 창출 방안을 마련하고자 청년들이 일자리를 쉽게 접근해 취업에 필요한 일자리정보 및 취·창업 컨설팅을 지원 받을 수 있는 ‘대전일자리카페꿈터’를 2개소 추가 확대 운영한다고 밝혔다. 지난 7월 1일부터 구직자 지원시설의 접근성이 부족한 점을 고려해 대학 주변 청년들이 많이 모이는 곳을 대상으로 시장조사와 공개모집을 통해 충남대부근 카이로스카페, 한남대부근 유엔아이카페, 우송대 부근 커피니 카페 3곳을 선정·운영해 취업정보시스템 이용 11,880건, 일자리 상담 및 알선 176명, 취업 3명의 실적을 달성하는 등 이용자가 많고 호응도가 좋았다. 이용자 대부분은 2~3학년의 재학생이며 대기업·공기업·일반기업 등 다양한 분야의 취업 및 채용분야에 관심을 갖고 방학 중임에도 불구하고 꾸준한 상담을 받길 원하고 있으며 앞으로 개강과 동시에 이용자가 더욱 많아질 것으로 기대한다. 이번에는 목원대 주변 파스쿠찌카페, 한밭대 주변 데일리카페 2곳을 추가 선정하여 대전지역 대학생 등 청년들에게 일자리 정보와 컨설팅 공간을 확대하게 되었다. 카페 선정지로는 청년밀집 지역으로 유동인구가 많고 청년생활권과 인접해 있으며, 1일 평균 이용자 수, 카페공간분위기, 내부 활용여건, 사업주 마인드, 청년들의 희망사항 등을 고려하였으며, 매주 월~금요일까지 카페별로 취업상담 등 전문적이고 체계적인 취업지원 서비스를 제공받게 된다. 한선희 대전시 과학경제국장은 “청년들에게 취업에 필요한 정보를 상시적으로 제공하고 기업인사담당자들의 현실감 있는 특강과 진로상담으로 취업준비생에게 실질적인 도움이 되길 희망한다”고 말했다.

대전시, 스포츠산업, 4차 산업혁명 선도사업 닻을 올리다
대전광역시 권선택 시장이 지난 달 18일, 문화체육관광부와 국민체육진흥공단에서 최대 규모의 정책 사업으로 공모한 ‘지역 융복합 스포츠산업 거점 육성사업’에 최종 선정되었다고 밝혔다. 이번 공모사업은 ICT(Information and Communications Technologies, 정보통신기술) 융·복합 스포츠산업 육성을 위해 2020년까지 4년간 총 145억 원(국비 94, 시비 48, 민간 3)이 투입되며, 대전테크노파크 주관으로 충남대학교, 대덕이노폴리스벤처협회, 한국산업기술시험원 등이 참여하게 된다. 주요사업 분야는 스포츠산업 융·복합 거점조성, 스포츠 신기술 발굴 및 원스톱 사업화 지원, 신 일자리 창출 및 전문인력 양성 시스템 구축, 성과확산 및 스포츠문화 확산강화 등 4대 전략사업 20개 단위사업을 추진하게 되며, 2020년까지 450여개의 새로운 일자리 창출과 함께 30여개 강소기업 발굴·육성에 목표를 두고 있다.
대전시에 따르면 대덕연구개발특구 등 지역 과학 인프라를 활용, 스포츠 ICT·헬스케어 분야 등의 스포츠산업을 체계적으로 육성·지원하고, 스크린 스포츠와 사이버 스포츠, 실감스포츠 시뮬레이터 산업 관련 기업을 중점 지원할 예정이며, 현재 54개 기업이 참여 의향을 밝히고 있을 뿐만 아니라 지역산업계에서도 뜨거운 관심을 보이고 있다고 전했다. 또한 공모사업 준비를 위해 지난 1년 동안 각계 전문가 중심의 TF팀을 구성하고, 대전 스포츠산업 발전전략 토론회 개최와 대전 스포츠산업 현황분석 및 발전방향 도출 등 공모 준비에 심혈을 기울여 왔고, 스포츠산업 진흥을 위한 제반 법규도 이미 정비를 마친 상태이기 때문에 오는 9월부터 본격 추진한다는 방침이다. 앞으로 대전시는 “이번 공모사업을 통해 스포츠가 건강과 여가만을 위한 것이 아니라 산업으로써 부가가치를 창출하는 것은 물론 4차 산업혁명 특별시 대전의 위상을 공고히 하는 디딤돌이 될 수 있도록 아낌없는 지원을 해 나갈 것”이라고 했다.

Daejoen expands ‘Daejeon Job Café’

Daejeon announced to add 2 more Daejeon Job Cafés to meet the new government’s job creation policy especially for young people. The cafés provide job information, consulting and support. The city carried out a research on young people dense areas and designated three cafes: Kairos Café around Chungnam National University, You & I Café around Hannam University and Coffeenie Café around Woosong University. At the three cafes, students have used the job search engine 11,880 times and 176 students have had job consulting and matching of 3 actually have secured a job. Most users of the cafes are second to third year university students and they tend to prefer major companies, public corporation and other companies in order. The city predicts that more students will use the cafes after the summer vacation. 

The city recently added two more cafes: Pascucci around Mokwon University and Daily Café around Hanbat National University. The chosen cafes have gone through screening based on daily users, atmosphere, facilities, owner’s mind and demand of students. The consulting services, however, are provided weekday only. 

The Daejeon City’s science and economy division head Han Sun-hee said “We try to provide practical information and support through the cafes and hope that more students will find the jobs they wish to have.” 

Daejeon set sail for promotion of sports industry and 4th Industrial Revolution

Daejeon Mayor Kwon Sun-taik announced that the city has been chosen as the finalist for ‘Regional Convergence Sport Industry Incubation Promotion Project’ at the competition held on 18 last month by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. 

The project pours 14.5 billion won ($12M) for four years until 2020 in order to promote sports industry that is converged with ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). It is led by Daejeong Techno Park, and Chungnam National University, the Daedeok Innopolis Venture Association and the Korea Testing Laboratory are participating. 

The core tasks of the project are building convergence sports industry incubation, development of new sports technologies and one-stop-commercialization support, creation of new jobs and building a manpower fostering system and spreading and strengthening sports culture. The project has set up a goal to create 450 new jobs and find 30 small but strong companies by 2020. 

According to the city, the project will use regional science infrastructure to systematically support sports ICT and health care industries as well as screen sports, cyber sports and sports simulation industry. 54 related companies are currently showing an interest in participation and other local industries are also seeking the possibility of participation.  

An official of the city said “We hope that the project will not only create added value in the sports and health industries but also raise the city’s status as a 4th Industrial Revolution powerhouse. For this, the city will keep providing unsparing effort.”
