박 병원장은 SCI급의 국제학술저널 <Pain Physician>에 <요추 추간공을 통한 신경성형술의 효과>를 입증한 연구 논문으로 2013년 BRIC(국가지정 생물학연구정보센터)의 ‘한국을 빛내는 사람들’ 논문에 선정되고 중증 요추 추간공협착증 환자의 효과적인 치료방식을 제시하기도 했다. 또한 박 병원장은 정상조직과 근육, 기관을 보존하는 척추 내시경 수술에서 미국, 영국 의사들도 수술을 받으러 내한할 만큼 국제적인 수준에 도달했다고 자부한다. 30대에 발병한 환자의 뼈를 자르고 깎아 나사못으로 고정술을 하면 60대에 생기는 문제점이 박 병원장의 내시경 수술에서는 발생하지 않기 때문이다. 박 병원장은 점차 다양한 연령대에서 발병하는 척추 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 학교 운동장의 흙, 우레탄로 같은 푹신한 곳에서 걷는 습관이 중요하다고 한다. 또 통증을 옐로카드, 마비는 레드카드에 빗대며 당장 통증이 없더라도 척추 이상 징후를 발견하는 즉시, 수술이 불가능한 마비증세가 오기 전에 병원을 찾아야 한다고 강조한다. 또한 박 병원장은 척추 관절 토탈케어를 표방하면서, 거동이 불편한 환자들을 위한 입원과 편의시설을 확충하기 위한 신축병원 개설과 병실 증축을 계획 중이다. 또한 전 세계 척추 분야에서 연구 중인 ‘로봇 수술’을 국내 최초로 도입해 머지않아 더욱 정교한 수술을 진행하게 될 것이라고 덧붙였다. 그리고 경영자로서 박 병원장은 병원 근무자들에 대한 서비스 마인드 차원에서 ‘중간관리자 워크샵’을 실시해 최적의 치료에 필요한 인재상을 만들고 있다. 아울러 사회적 약자들을 위해 초록우산 기부, 쌀 20kg 기부 및 무료급식 봉사, 연말 연탄나눔 봉사에 참여하고 저소득층 무료 수술도 진행 중이다. 박 병원장은 정부 선정기관만 참여할 수 있는 의료봉사가 많음을 아쉬워하며, 앞으로 65세 이상 노인 인구가 늘어남에 따라 정부의 정책 지원증대 및 고령화세대를 대비하는 의료활동 차원에서 병원의 무료서비스를 막는 법들이 시정되기를 바란다. 이렇듯 국내 척추권위자로서 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 고른 발전을 이루어 온 박 병원장의 지난한 노력과 성과에 앞으로도 큰 박수를 보내는 바이다.

He is confident to say that even doctors from the UK and the US visit Daegu Wooridul Spine Hospital to get the treatment: the fixation surgery in one's 30s normally cause problems when he/she reaches 60s but it does not apply to the Park's endoscopy surgery.
