“즐거운 나눔을 통해 살기 좋은 세상을 만들어가고 싶습니다”
1988년, 그에게 4급 장애를 안겨줬던 대형 교통사고와 1998년, 모든 것을 잃고 좌절할 뻔 했던 공장 화재를 겪고도 그가 다시 재기할 수 있었던 데에는 아내 진선미씨의 정성어린 내조와 함께 자신을 끝까지 믿고 찾아준 고객들의 성원이 있었기에 가능했다는 것이 이종덕 대표의 믿음이다. 그리고 그 고마움을 잊지 않고자 늘 최선을 다해왔기에 지금의 자신도 있을 수 있었다는 것이 현재의 가구대통령을 이끌어가는 주된 철학이다.

Located in Ilsan, Furniture President boasts a 30 year history and CEO Lee has been exerting his upmost effort in pouring not only his passion of furniture making and selling but also his warm heart of sharing in the furniture. Furniture President has one of the largest warehouse type stores selling all kinds of furniture from sofas, beds and closets to antique and props. And its 132 square meter parking lot accommodates a continuous flow of furniture buyers. But the biggest advantage of Furniture President comes from CEO Lee Jong-duk.

Lee jumped into the furniture industry in 1981 and has walked a single path with his business motto ‘excellent quality but good price’. Years of his passion made him a master furniture maker and with his accumulated knowhow and experience, he launched Furniture President in 2002. Lee had a car accident that brought him a class 4 disability in 1988. After ten years in 1998, he lost almost everything to the fire on his factory. It was not possible for him to start again without the encouragement of his wife Jin Sun-mi and the continuous support of his regulars. And he never forgot the help and support he received and this motivated him to engage himself in volunteer activities in ernest. 

Meanwhile, he had thought about the way he could connect his business to sharing for many years. And he finally brought up a unique charity idea ‘One Thousand Won’s Happiness’ 20 years ago. The event participants bid for the furniture he/she wishes to buy every month and the one who won the rock-paper-scissors take the furniture for free. The charity event is still taken place at the Ilsan store and the profits generated from the event goes to people in need through the Ilsan Social Welfare Center. 

“I would like to spread to the people how good we can feel when we share what we can with others and I will keep taking part in creating a better society through sharing as long as I can.”
