“Taking care of your pets is as important as loving them”
Director Kim Suk-hwan of Beautiful Animal Hospital

President Moon’s seven pledges for pets
President Moon’s seven pledges for pets announced on April 15 attracted a great attention from many pet lovers. And Moon actually adopted the abandoned dog ‘Tory’ after the election. Director Kim Suk-hwan of Beautiful Animal Hospital in Songdo, Incheon receives Moon’s action with high praise for none of the previous presidents showed interest in the related policies. The Moon’s seven pledges for pets are standardized diagnosis system, pet playgrounds, pet instructor promotion and support centers, adoption of abandoned pet, street cats feeding centers and neutralization project, state run animal protection centers, and animal protection education and welfare. Kim tips that health check, neutralization and vaccination done at the process of adoptation is very effective to form a closer tie between the onwer and the pets in early stage. In Germany, Kim says, people are legally bound to complete a 1 or 2 week course before having a pet or more and Kim highly hopes that Moon’s pledges will realize the advanced practices in Korea likewise. It is also important for pets to be vaccinated before entering the pet playgrounds and the staff needs to keep an eye on whether the pet owners leave without their pets. In terms of the standardized diagnosis system or family doctor, Kim points out the need to introduce animal tax or animal health insurance although there might be a backlash on attempting this.

“Beautiful Animal Hospital is a good companion of you and your pets”
From admission to discharge, the Beautiful Animal Hospital’s meticulous treatment services to your pets are second to none and all processes are recorded in document and photo to be openly shown to you. Kim opposes to animal testing and is expecting that Korea will follow suit the advanced countries where the testing is banned. Kim points out the fact that some of pet doctors suffer from traumas by managing the tested animals and the ban, therefore, surely will bring a solution to this as well. Kim advises to abolish the farming type animal rental factories as the first action to reduce the number of abandoned pets below the current 50,000. Introducing microchips also is a good idea as well as effective management of the new born animals. Living together with pets in fact is not only motivated by the moment’s delight because they are pretty and good for children or people living alone but it also requires a continuous effort in taking care of them with love as if they are part of the family. For this reason, Kim becomes extra strict when it comes to treating the animals and this of her management philosophy is well practiced among all staff at Beautiful Animal Hospital which has received great response from many pet lovers. If you have a pet or more and need a professional advice or help, you are highly advised to pay a visit to Beautiful Animal Hospital. <Power Korea> sends a message of support.
