The secrete of being ‘insurance queen’ 
For many insurance sales men and women, the market traders of Majang-dong, Seongdong District in Seoul was one of the most difficult groups of people to persuade the importance of having insurance. But KB Insurance Chunmyeong branch manager Jeong Yeon-soon succeeded winning their heart through years of honest and industrious effort. Starting at Jaeil Fire on 1996 to LIG to the current KB Insurance, Jeong’s expertise in the field for the last 20 years has brought her the top sales prize of KB Insurance in the central region of Korea. Jeong is famous for targeting a certain group of people and area and planning her schedule according to their moving line of the day; Jeong started her day at 3am at the markets like Majang-dong meat market, Garak-dong vegetable market and Hwanghak-dong kitchen utensils market where the market traders started their work at 2am. She made acquaintance with them by giving out yogurt (about 500) and useful clips of newspapers of the day (about 200). For this reason, the market traders sometimes called her ‘the madam yogurt’. One by one, the traders showed interest in what Jeong said and subsequently one contract led to two and two became 20 and so on. Jeong analyzed the things that the traders most needed and she focused on car and health insurance for they needed distribution method anyway and their work required a considerable amount of physical movement. 

Recognition as queen of insurance
Having secured about 2,000 car insurance contracts alone, Jeong was the first one who appeared in the accident spot on receiving the information. For effective and fast handling the issue in terms of insurance, Jeong even gained knowledge on car structure and repairs. And she was an expert at drawing speedy and agreeable arbitration between the affected parties for both of them often were her clients. Jeong also had one principle: “Do not depend on your family and acquaintance.” Instead, she met about 20 potential clients a day. As a result, she achieved around 5 billion won ($4.452m) sales (when taken every revenue into account) last year and triumphantly appeared on the media as the queen of insurance. It might sound that Jeong is now enjoying the sales figure at her chair while a little bit neglecting on those she made the success from, but she still is the same Jeong as before; she constantly checks on her client’s contract status and update information for more benefit to her client’s part.
