The multinational German chemical and consumer goods company Henkel boasts 140 years of its history and 'Persil', a laundry detergent released in December 2011, probably is one of the hottest products that the consumers today might familiar with the name. Taking the steering gear of its Korean branch five and a half years ago, CEO Kim surprised the headquarters by increasing the sales to 200 billion won (appx. $178m) from the half of it. The thorough analysis on the tendency of Korean consumers was the key to this remarkable achievement, says Kim in retrospect. Kim has a high level of understandability in IT and IoT as well as an insightful eye to read the trend. No doubt 'Home Control' is one of the derivatives of his entrepreneurial instinct which he referred as 'innovation'. And his innovative marketing strategies are constantly flow into each of its products from Home Keeper and Home Mat to home and beauty care products. When asked about the source of his inspiration, Kim brought up a book 'Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't' written by Jim C. Collins; the book summarizes 'good people make good companies and good companies make good products'. 

Digitalization
The coming 4th Industrial Revolution, in a way, means a possibility of artificial-intellectualization of all technologies and their connectivity. And Kim foresaw, from as far back as several years ago, the need of 'digitalization' where the elements of big data, cloud and IoT are co-operational. And it was coincided with Henkel's Mid & Long Term Plan 2020 that puts the weigh of business management strategy on 'digitalization' which aims its purpose at releasing digital-oriented products melted with consumer trends and needs. As part of this effort, for example, Kim gathers information on what kind of products a certain group of consumers prefer on which e-commerce (coupang, eBay, Gmarket, Homeshopping, etc.) in Korea. Kim points out the fact that Korea is the hottest market for electric mosquito repellent thus playing the hub of the innovation and digitalization of the products. Recognizing the potential of the market and the proven performance of Kim, the International Marketing Division of Henkel dispatches a support team to Kore as releasing Home Control first in Korea attracted a good deal of attention from the global media and stock markets. Kim points out China, in particular, to open a channel for Henkel Home Care Korea within the year as the springboard to Asian market. When asked about future plan, Kim said that he would do his utmost effort in keeping the No.1 status of Henkel Home Care Korea while actively pushing forward advancement of core technologies and quality improvement. <Power Korea> sends a message of support.
