인간의 영유아 시기인 2-7세는 사회성과 지식을 익히며 인성을 확립하는 매우 중요한 시기다. 내적 동기에 따른 학습과 탐구 욕구를 충족시키는 행위에 긍정적인 철학자 듀이, 인지론적 상호작용론자 비고츠키의 교육철학을 따르며 국제적인 인재를 키워가는 해찬숲키즈어린이집은 2017년 들어 아이들을 위한 새로운 커리큘럼을 도입하고 있다. 지역사회와의 교류, 우수한 교육환경이 돋보이는 고가온 대표의 교육 방침과 앞으로의 계획에 대해 정리해 보았다. 

푸른 자연 속에서 이상적이고 바른 인성 지닌 미래의 리더를 기르는 커리큘럼

경기 의왕시의 숲속마을에 위치한 해찬숲키즈어린이집은 자연 속에서 어린이의 꿈을 키우는 7천 여 평의 환경부장관 인증 친환경 생태교육 어린이집이다. 해찬숲키즈어린이집은 인근 학부모들에게 초등학교 입학 전까지 필요한 지식과 경험, 그리고 단체생활의 중요성을 인식시켜 교육의 효과가 높은 기관으로 인정받고 있다. 인성과 지성의 함양 교육으로 정평이 난 고가온 대표는 사회복지와 행정학, 식품영양학을 전공하였으며, 유기농 급식을 실천하고 자기주도학습을 실행한다. 대표적 프로그램들은 자연학습장 생태숲교육, 외국어교육을 비롯해 호기심과 탐구욕구를 길러주는 놀이 연계 학습프로그램으로, 아동 개개인의 정서발달을 돕도록 한다. 고 대표는 어린이집 표준교육과정에 따라 올해부터 다양하고 새로운 교육 프로그램을 진행하고 있다. 바른 가치관을 기르는 인성교육을 비롯해, 기존의 다도교육과 함께 격월로 실시하는 전통문화 세시풍속 교육, 책을 벗 삼도록 습관을 들이는 매일 10분간의 독서타임, 재능기부로 지역사회와 인연을 맺는 나눔 문화에 동참하도록 한 것이다. 그 외에도 아이들의 취미와 적성을 찾아 주는 요리, 영어, 체육, 뮤직퍼포, 국악, 중국어, 태권도, 발레 등의 특별프로그램이 있으며, 교사들이 직접 작성한 연간교육계획안을 토대로 월, 주, 일 단위의 일정을 계획하여 대표원장과 부원장의 모니터링을 거쳐 반영한다. 중앙보육정보센터 E러닝 등으로 교사연수를 진행하고 주 2회 정기회의로 현장에서 교사들의 의견을 수집함에 따라, 융통성 있는 교육방침으로 유아 개개인의 잠재능력을 꽃피우고 세계의 빠른 변화에 반응할 수 있도록 하는 것도 장점이다. 아이들은 집중할 수 있는 시간의 한계가 있기에, 고 대표는 다양한 놀이문화로 학습을 시킨다고 한다. 특히 인간의 두뇌, 지적 감수성이 발달하는 중요한 시기에 맞추어 생태감성과 창의인성, 놀이교육으로 인성을 고루 발달시키도록 하고 있다. 고 대표는 2017년의 교육방침 변화에 대해 보건복지부 미세먼지 대응 매뉴얼에 따른 농도 알림판을 현관에 설치해 아이들의 실외활동에 반영하고, 미세먼지 차단 바이러스 닥터 설치 및 공기정화 식물, 각 반별 공기청정기를 설치해 아이들을 보호하고 있다. 또한 교사들이 탄소저감 에코문화를 실천해 아이들에게 모범을 보임에 따라, 글로벌 지구보전의 가치를 어릴 때부터 알려주는 교육적 효과도 기대하고 있다. 고 대표는 환경과 교육의 양적, 질적 수준이 보장되어야 하는 유보통합 대비전략으로 개원을 하였으며, 앞으로도 나눔과 교류가 있는 다문화적이고 진보적인 국제학교를 지향할 것이다. 고 대표는 나눔과 성찰의 학습공동체를 통해 교육과정을 열심히 연구해 교사들의 수준을 높일 것이라고 한다. 또한 병원, 소방서 등 지역사회와의 MOU로 좋은 반응을 얻음에 따라, 앞으로 학부모 성장 프로그램 등을 보완해 지역사회와 융합하며 앞서가는 교육문화를 이끌어 갈 예정이다. 평생교육의 시작이자 인성발달을 최우선 가치로 여기는 고 대표와 함께, 올해에도 해찬숲키즈어린이집의 유아들은 자연과 어우러져 호기심과 지적 열망을 충족시키며 잠재능력을 발굴해 나갈 것이다.

"Personality education is the key to fostering future leaders"
Located in Poil-dong, Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, Haechansoop Kids Daycare Center is famous for its nature-friendly and personality-driven education. The eco-friendly ecology education is approved by the Ministry of Environment and the 23,140 square meter area provides children enough space to learn and play. The center is praised by the local school parents for equipping the children with the knowledge and experience and social skills necessary before entering the elementary school. Among many programs, ecology program, foreign language program and linked learning program are recognized as very effective. Director Go Ga-on of the center majored in social welfare, business administration, and food and nutrition. In accordance with the official curriculum of the daycare centers in Korea, Go is actively promoting various new educational programs from this year such as tea ceremony, tradition and culture, 10 minute reading a day and talent donation. In addition, Go runs special programs like English, Chinese, cooking, sports, music performance, traditional Korean music, Korean martial art (taekwondo) and ballet. To make the curriculum fun and effective, the teachers participate in making the yearly plan to the daily plan and Go and the deputy director listen carefully to the opinions of the teachers. Growing creativity and personality through a variety of playing is very important element of the center. The recent find dust issues in particular are taken into a great consideration when doing outdoor activities and the center strictly follows the manuals of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Also, an air purifier and the plants that have functions to purify the air are placed in each class. Go has signed a number of MOUs with local organizations such as hospital and fire station in a way to realize community-friendly education and to grow the center as multi-cultural and an international educational center.
