The miracle of 20km of path around the South Pole
Kim Wan-su, CEO of Penguin Cultural Foundation & Penguin World and a polar explorer and a writer
The passion in the South Pole

Kim Wan-su, CEO of Penguin Cultural Foundation & Penguin World and a polar explorer and a writer was recognized as the private explorer visiting the South Pole the most on 11 January this year by the Guinness Korea. Right after 2 days of the recognition, he left for the South Pole again twice (9th and 10th times) for  two months calling by the east side, Magnetic South Pole, Invercargill of New Zealand, Jang Bogo Station of Korea, Death Valley, McMurdo Station of the US and Ushuaia of Argentina and came back home on 21 March. Kim started his South Pole exploration in January 2013 to take photos of its beautiful nature and underwater living things with a camera or a drone. He plans to list his name in the The Guinness World Records of the UK as the private explorer with the highest number of exploration. He published <Touring the South Pole with Penguins> 1 and 2 September this year and is planning to publish <Kimwansu's Penguin World>, a storytelling photo book for children. He was inspired from the story of Andersen who traveled Europe during which he found materials for 200 of his stories. Likewise, Kim said that he already had brought up about 20 South Pole stories of his own for children. The books when completed will be translated into 100 languages by the Korea Trade-investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Kim's love of Emperor penguin and Adélie penguin is very special that he established the Penguin Cultural Foundation & Penguin World in Iksan City and has organized a number of programs and exhibitions and festivals and campaign for protection of environment. It is surprising to know that Kim has traveled a 20km of path around the South Pole and said that the latest 10th exploration was most difficult yet most awesome with abundant substantial results. Gathering all his effort and materials of his South Pole exploration, Kim set 25th of April this month as the day he declares Iksan City the capital of penguin with which the city is to invite penguin lovers from the world over Korea. Kim is also ambitious to tour 10 cities of the world with the penguin exhibition he will organize.
