[Sport for All] Chairman Gwon Ki-sun of Korea Kookhak Kigong Association
Chosen for '2017 Civil Society Support Project for Welfare of the Aged'
Chosen as excellent item at '2016 National Performance Evaluation'
Leaders conference held on 12 February 

Established in 1980, Korea Kookhak Kigong Association listed its name as a regular member of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee in 2016 for its 36 years of contribution to promotion of public health. 5,000 organizations including parks, welfare centers, public institutions and schools nationwide currently are benefiting from the Kookhak Kigong programs of the association. Kookhak Kigong is a traditional sport focused on smooth flow of energy and blood in the body and around 1 million people in the world are reported to engage in the sport at the moment. 50 among 1,200 Kookhak Kigong instructors who attended the conference were chosen for the judge training course (2nd phase) through strict screening on theory, practice and interview and they vowed to follow the rules of game and to give fair judgement on completing the course. In the conference, training committee members and skills committee members were also appointed and the appointing ceremony was followed by the launching of the new programs for park training areas of 2017. Among the new programs, 'Jangsang Kigong', 'Symptom by Symptom Shoulder Healing' and 'Senior Movement Play' came onto the center stage which encouraged confidence of attendees. 

Creating a healthier Korea and a peaceful world
In the opening ceremony of park training area on the day, the 17 leader members and officials of the metropolitan cities and provinces of the association entered with flags and gave a shout and applause when Gwon took the stage. He said "Kookhak Kigong instructors will straighten up their mind and spirit to create a healthier Korea and a peaceful world through Kookhak Kigong and we will do our best for it. We have secured park training areas and we will soon start early morning training in parks as well as work places, welfare centers and public institutions nationwide totaling 5,000." Gwon added "We are planning to hold 'Sport for All International Kookhak Kigong Festival' in Seoul this year and for this we are exerting our effort in drawing more participation of the members and the public alike." As for the future plan, Gwon said that he would promote the festival as a global festival where people from all over the world can exchange culture and helpful information on maintaining healthy of our body. <Power Korea> sends a message of support.
