꽃은 우리에게 단순한 아름다움을 넘어 휴식과 재충전, 정서적인 충족감을 선사한다. 꽃의 아름다움과 생명력은 그저 바라보고 있는 것만으로도 우리에게 힐링 에너지를 전달하며, 곁에 두기만 해도 우리 삶을 행복으로 가득 채워 준다. 이에 이번호 <월간 파워코리아>에서는 다가오는 봄을 맞아 꽃의 매력을 전하고 있는 천안 심파티&케이터링의 심은효 대표를 만나봤다.

일상에 행복을 채워주는 꽃의 매력
빠르게 변화하는 현대사회. 쉴 틈 없이 이어지는 업무와 복잡한 인간관계 속에서 사람들은 생각보다 빨리, 그리고 쉽사리 지쳐가고 있다. 천안에 위치한 ‘심파티&케이터링’의 심은효 대표는 사회가 각박해지고 삶이 어렵게 느껴질수록, 우리에겐 ‘꽃’이 필요하다고 강조한다. 심 대표는 “꽃은 우리가 특별한 무언가를 하지 않더라도, 일상 속에 머물며 향기와 행복을 전해줘요. 가까이 둘수록, 그리고 들여다볼수록 그 아름다움을 마음 속 깊이 느낄 수 있다는 게 꽃의 매력이죠”라고 말했다. 

독일 국가공인 플로리스트이자 대한민국 국가공인 화훼장식기능사인 심 대표는 오랜 시간을 꽃과 함께하며 살아왔다. 먼 독일로 떠나 플로리스트 전문 과정을 수료한 것도, 다시 국내로 돌아와 다양한 영역에서 왕성한 활동을 펼치고 있는 까닭도 모두 꽃에 대한 사랑 때문이다. 그는 꽃을 특별한 날만이 아닌, 일상 속에서 가까이하는 문화가 자리 잡은 유럽의 꽃 문화를 국내에 전파하고자 심파티&케이터링을 설립했다. 이곳에서는 최근 확산되고 있는 파티 문화에 발맞춰 핑거푸드와 플라워디자인을 기본으로 맛과 멋, 그리고 꽃이 있는 새로운 유형의 스탠딩파티 케이터링을 전문으로 수행하고 있다. 심 대표는 “사교와 나눔, 여유와 사람이 공존하는 파티에서 꽃은 전체적인 분위기를 아우르는 가장 중요한 요소에요. 저희는 파티에 방문하는 내빈 분들이 꽃을 통해 에너지를 얻고, 즐거움을 느낄 수 있도록 하는데 최선을 다하고 있어요”라고 설명했다.

“꽃을 그리는 시간, 그 치유의 힘을 전하고 싶어요”
자신이 가진 플라워작가로서의 역량을 살려 최고의 플라워디자인을 선보이고 있는 심은효 대표는 충남문화재단과 천안문화재단, 천안 예술의전당 등 다양한 행사의 품격을 높이는 데에 일조하고 있다. 아울러 독일에서 배운 선진 플로리스트 기술을 국내에 전파하고자 강연과 강의, 레슨에도 힘쓰고 있다. 그는 나사렛대학교 평생교육원에서 10년 가까운 시간 동안 강의를 진행하고 있으며, 다수의 중·고등학교, 대학교, 공공기관에 출장 강사로 활동하고 있기도 하다. 또한 심 대표의 플라워레슨 클래스는 화훼장식기능사 자격증 취득반과 플로리스트반이 운영되고 있으며, 꼼꼼한 1:1 개인지도를 통해 수강생의 빠르게 향상시키고 있어 많은 호응을 받고 있다. 그는 이러한 활동을 통해 천안시교육청으로부터 우수강사 표창을 수여받기도 했으며, 지난해에는 (사)한국꽃문화진흥협회 천안지회장이자 소속 화훼공방 ‘심은효꽃예술원’의 회장으로 취임해 회원들에게 보다 폭 넓은 플로리스트 교육을 제공하고 있다. 심 대표는 “즐길 줄 아는 사람이 잘하는 사람보다 낫다는 말이 있어요. 이 말은 특히 꽃을 다루는 일에서 더 강하게 체감되는 것 같아요. 진정으로 꽃을 사랑하고, 꽃의 매력을 즐길 수 있어야만 다른 이에게도 그 아름다움을 전할 수 있다고 생각해요”라고 말했다. 

심 대표는 3년 전부터 민화의 매력에 빠져 꾸준히 작품 활동을 해오고 있다. 민화 중에서도 꽃을 다룬 그림을 주로 그린다는 그는 꽃에 대한 깊은 이해와 남다른 색채 감각을 통해 수준 높은 작품 세계를 펼친다는 평가를 받고 있다. 심 대표는 “민화를 그리는 시간만큼은 다른 잡념을 모두 잊고 오롯이 제 자신에게 집중할 수 있어요. 민화가 가진 아름다움과 치유의 힘을 더욱 많은 사람과 나누고 싶은 게 제 바람이에요”라고 밝혔다. 고객들의 요청에 의해 민화 꽃그림 클래스도 개설했다는 심은효 대표. 다가오는 봄, 그가 선사하는 꽃의 향기가 많은 이들의 마음속에 따스한 위안으로 자리하게 되기를 바란다.

The charm of flower that fills life with happiness
People nowadays get more tired in their piling workload and the complicated modern human relationship. Located in Cheonan City, CEO Sim Eun-hyo of Shim Party & Catering asserts that the harder-hearted people become the more needed of flowers. “No matter what we feel and do in our daily life, flowers are always there to deliver their fragrance and happiness to us. The closer the flower the deeper the beauty we can see. This is the charm of flowers” said Shim. Shim is a nationally approved florist and a licensed flower decorator. She completed a florist course in Germany and has actively engaged in flower related businesses and events after coming back to Korea before establishing Shim Party & Catering in an effort to promote European flower culture which is commonly practiced in daily life. Based on finger food and flower design, Shim Party & Catering provides trendy standing party and catering services. “People come to party to exchange, share and enjoy their feeling and flower is the most important element to liven up the mood in the party. Our job is to maximize this effect of flower in a way to level up the energy and joy of the party till the last moment” explained Shim. 

“I want to share the healing power folk painting with people”
Shim’s excellence in flower decorating has been well proved in a number of events held by Chungnam Arts and Culture Foundation, Cheonan Foundation for Arts and Culture, and Cheonan Arts Center. To share her knowledge with more people, Shim is actively engaged in lessons and lectures. She has given lecture at Korea Nazarene University Lifelong Learning Center for 10 years and at a number of other universities and schools and public organizations. Shim also runs her flower classes designed for hobby and certificate and her meticulous 1:1 lesson is very popular among students. In recognition of her talent and contribution, Shim received an excellent instructor citation from Cheonan Office of Education and was appointed as the chairwoman of the Korea Flower Culture Promotion Association Cheonan and the Shim Eun Hyo Flower Academy. “There’s a saying ‘those who enjoy is better than those who do better’. I absolutely agree with it especially when it comes to flowering. The stronger you feel towards flower the better you deliver the beauty of it to people” said Shim. Meanwhile, Shim could not help falling in love with folk paintings three years ago and has been drawing it with flower as the main theme in her unique color and understanding. “It is really good I can focus on drawing without any stray thoughts and I want to share the healing power of folk painting with more people” said Shim. For this, she opened a folk flower painting class on the encouragement of her clients. <Power Korea> hopes that the fragrance of the flowers arranged and created by Shim will spread nationwide on this spring breeze of March.
