The governor Ahn Hee-jung announced on 21 last month that the project would support export novice enterprises with all-in-one package service covering from building export infrastructure to marketing. Up to 7.5 million won is supported for 20 companies which will be chosen in March through screening on documents and field assessment. The ideal candidates are must be based in the province either the head office or the manufacturing factories with less than a 100 million won sales last year or less than an 1 million dollar exports last year. The support will be provide step by step from building strategy of export destination (step 1), hunting buyers (step 2), marketing and sales support (step 3) and export, customs and after management support (step 4) with additional support of 1:1 trade coordinating and management analysis consulting. The head of the department Lee Dong-soon said “We will provide an unsparing effort in promoting promising regional companies to go global through effective our supporting programs.”

Ahn seeks development measures for future agriculture
Ahn paid a visit to Onuigwonyeok in Janggok-myeon, Hongseong County on 16 last month to gather opinions on development measures for future agriculture from regional farmers young and old alike. Ahn said “The Miracle on the Han River asked sacrifice of farmers. But agriculture has always been an important industry in the past and it is now and will be in the future. If mobile phone industry has its lifespan, agriculture has no lifespan. It means that development of agriculture is a must for Korea to advance to a better future.” On hearing of difficulties in finding a house from young farmers in the province, Ahn asked Kang Ik-jae, the head of South Chungcheong Development Corporation to consider building guesthouse-type house for young farmers. Ahn also emphasized on ‘Chungnam’s Suggestion’ by mentioning the insufficient 14.5 trillion won budget for the agricultural industry in Korea. He then engaged himself with young farmers at a cooperative vegetable farm. Meanwhile, the province is pouring 4.28 billion won in Onuigwonyeok for building multi-purpose meeting halls, community centers remodeling, ecological roadsides and alternative energy facilities.

Ahn stresses the importance on human rights
South Chungcheong Province introduced 52 policies for strengthening human rights in the province. 20 human rights committee members and 50 industry officials attended the meeting for ‘2017 South Chungcheong Province Human Rights Promotion Plan’ held at the Provincial government building on 17 last month. The meeting invited presentations on ‘2050 Safe Chungnam Planning’, ‘Strengthening Independence through Job Creation for Young People’ and ‘Women Farmers Happy Voucher Support Project’ with additional suggestion of ‘expansion of mentoring for high risk suicidal people’, ‘introducing call-taxi for disabled’, ‘itinerant toilets for women in fishing village’ and ‘human rights for women patients’. For this, the province is planning to sign a business agreement with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea while spreading human rights awareness to the public through various human rights film and cultural festivals. The 52 policies are to be finalized at the end of February and it will be checked at the implementation meetings early and latter half of the year respectively with additional forum in September in which participants will discuss on next year’s human rights promotion policies. The deputy governor of the province Nam Gung-young said “All policies and projects of the province must be fair and beneficial to all residents and we will do our best to make it happen.”
