LG전자, ‘LG 이노페스트’ 개최 글로벌 프리미엄 시장 정조준
LG전자가 글로벌 주요 거점지역에서 신제품 발표회를 개최하며 글로벌 프리미엄 시장 공략을 본격 강화한다. LG전자는 지난 달 14일부터 16일까지 그리스 크레타 섬에서 ‘LG 이노페스트(InnoFest)’를 열고 유럽의 거래선, 미디어 등 300여 명을 초청해 100여 종의 신제품을 선보였다. 이 행사에는 LG전자 유럽지역대표 겸 독일법인장 박석원 부사장 등이 참석했다. 또한 스페인 바르셀로나에서 열린 중동·아프리카 이노페스트에서는 중동·아프리카지역대표 차국환 부사장이 약 300명에게 신제품을 소개했다. ‘LG 이노페스트’는 LG전자 고유의 지역 밀착형 신제품 발표회로 주요 거래선과의 파트너십을 강화하기 위한 ‘혁신(Innovation)’과 ‘축제(Festival)’의 장이다. 올해는 유럽과 중동·아프리카를 시작으로 상반기 내 아시아, 중남미 지역에서 순차적으로 진행한다. LG전자는 올해 유럽, 중동·아프리카에 본격적으로 출시하는 프리미엄 ‘LG SIGNATURE (LG 시그니처)’ 신제품을 비롯하여 고효율·스마트홈 기술을 적용한 생활가전, 올레드 TV 등을 소개했다. ‘LG 시그니처’는 기술 혁신으로 이룬 압도적인 성능, 본질에 충실한 정제된 디자인, 지금까지 경험해보지 못한 직관적인 사용성을 갖춘 LG전자의 프리미엄 가전이다. ‘본질의 미학(The Art Of Essence)’을 담은 올레드 TV, 세탁기, 냉장고, 가습공기청정기 등이 포함된다. 화질, 디자인, 사운드 등 LG의 혁신 기술을 총망라한 ‘LG 시그니처 올레드 TV W’는 올해 초 미국 라스베이거스에서 열린 ‘CES 2017’에서 처음 공개돼 극찬을 받았다. LG전자는 가정용 허브(Hub) 로봇을 비롯하여 스마트 냉장고, 의류관리기 스타일러, 에어컨·공기청정기 등 에어솔루션 제품도 공개했다. 가정용 허브 로봇은 다른 스마트 가전을 제어하는 것은 물론 동화나 음악을 들려주고 레시피도 알려준다. 또 음악 재생과 알림 서비스도 가능하다. LG전자 글로벌마케팅부문장 나영배 부사장은 “LG 이노페스트를 통해 LG만의 차별화된 제품을 적극 알리고 현지 거래선과의 파트너십을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다. 

LG전자, UL 사이버 보안평가 프로그램 ‘CAP’ 인증 획득
LG전자가 웹OS 스마트 TV의 사이버 보안 기술력을 인정받았다. LG전자는 글로벌 안전규격 개발 및 인증기관인 ‘UL(Underwriters Laboratories)’로부터 스마트 TV 플랫폼인 ‘웹OS 3.5’에 대한 사이버 보안 인증규격 ‘CAP(Cybersecurity Assurance Program, UL2900-1 CWE/SANS Top 25 조건)’를 획득했다. 스마트 TV 가운데 UL CAP 인증을 받은 것은 LG전자가 처음이다. UL의 사이버 보안평가 프로그램 ‘CAP’는 시스템의 소프트웨어 보안 취약도와 해킹 위협에 대한 보안 수준 등 잠재적인 사이버 보안 문제를 평가한다. UL은 LG전자 스마트 TV의 해킹방어 능력, 데이터 암호화, 보안설계 및 알고리즘 안전성 등을 평가해 이번 인증을 수여했다. LG전자는 이번 인증을 바탕으로 제품 사이버 보안성에 대한 신뢰를 높이고 다가오는 홈 IoT 시대를 준비해 나갈 계획이다. LG전자 웹OS 3.5 스마트 TV는 악성 앱의 설치를 차단할 뿐 아니라 해킹 등으로부터 스마트 TV를 보호할 수 있는 최고 수준의 보안 솔루션을 탑재했다. TV와 서버 간 보안 전송 기술을 적용해 고객 데이터를 안전하게 보호한다. LG전자 HE연구소장 황정환 전무는 “스마트홈 등 IoT 기술의 결합으로 스마트 TV의 보안이 더욱 중요해지고 있다”며 “진화하는 해킹 기술에 대응할 수 있도록 최고 수준의 보안기술을 유지해 나갈 계획”이라고 강조했다. 

LG holds ‘LG InnoFest’
LG held ‘LG InnoFest’ from 14 to 16 last month on Crete Island, Greece and invited 300 officials of partner companies and media circles including the head of LG Electronics Europe and Germany Park Won-suk to the showcase of 100 kinds of products. LG InnoFest held in Barcelona, Spain also invited 300 officials including the head of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa. LG InnoFest is an event themed on ‘Innovation’ and ‘Festival’ through which the company strengthens partnerships and it is scheduled to be held in Asia and Latin America soon. LG is planning to introduce ‘LG SIGNATURE’ products, high efficient smart home technology-loaded home appliances and OLED TV to the global market this year. LG SIGNATURE is the company’s premium home appliances line applied with overwhelming performance, refined design and intuitive usability. The famous products include the ‘The Art of Essence’ technology-loaded OLED TV, washing machine, fridge, humidifier and air purifier. LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W especially is loaded with the LG’s innovative technology in screen resolution, design and sound and it received an explosive response at ‘CES 2017’ held in Las Vegas, US early this year. Other product lines released are Hub Robot for home, smart fridge, clothes styler and air solutions. The Hub Robot in particular can control other home appliances and can read children’s stories or play the music and even tells the recipe of food and rings the alarming bell. The deputy head of LG Electronics Global Marketing Na Young-bae said “We will use LG InnoFest to the fullest to spread the excellence of LG products and to strengthen our partnerships.”

LG obtains CAP 
LG Electronics obtained ‘CAP (Cybersecurity Assurance Program UL2900-1 CWE/SANS Top 25 Condition)’ for ‘Web OS 3.5’ from ‘UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a global security standard development and approval institute. LG is the first company to obtain it in the field of smart TV. CAP assesses the weakness of security and hacking risks of the systems and LG’s smart TV scored points to the satisfactory level in hacking prevention, codification of data, security design and safety of algorithm. LG’s Web OS 3.5 smart TV cuts the installation of malware apps and protects the TV from any type of hacking through cutting edge security solutions. It also protects the data of the users through safe transmission technology between servers. The director of LG Electronics HE Research Center Hwang Jung-hwan said “The convergence of smart home and IoT requires strengthened security of smart TV and we will do our best to maintain the top quality security system against ever advancing hacking skills.”
