Luigi Limberti Scuola del Cuoio (CEOs Park Jae-yun, Park Jun, Go Yu-mi)
The bag desiker academy brings tradition and authenticity of Italian leather craft

Making Korean brands go global with Italian leather craft
Luigi Limberti Scuola del Cuoio is a leather making academy that fosters talented Italian 'bag desikers'. The glass cases, bags and accessaries used in those hit Korean films such as <Assassination>, <Inside Men>, <The Age of Shadows> and <Cold Eyes> are made in the academy. Luigi Limberti was born to a family of leather making that goes back to the 17th century. He started leather crafts at the age of 16 and opened a leather workshop in Moreni Street in 1960. In 1963, he worked with Fendi and in 1978 with Mipel followed by making luxury leather goods for queens of Spain, Belgium and Greece. He is known as the best leather craftsman of Italy. He received <Apollo Awards> at the Oscars for working as single sample maker of Channel, Gucci and Hermes and for collaborating with Armani, Marc Jacobs, Paloma Picasso and Max Mara. CEO Park Jae-yun flew to Italy and had troubled Limberti for a considerable amount of time before he finally got a consent. Limberti was impressed by Park's persistence and passed down his technique to him. Back in Korea with passion and enthusiasm, he opened Luigi Limberti Scuola del Cuoio. Park formerly was a hotshot CF producer and convention organizer including for 2002 FIFA World Cup. Impressed by the charm of Hermes bags while searching for ways to increase employability of artists, he went to Japan for study and opened Miestelle (forerunner of the academy) in 2010 with his knowledge in textile and leather design before leaving for Italy to deepen his technique. Luigi Limberti Scuola del Cuoio has fostered 1,200 pupils with 1/3 of them came from overseas. The curriculum enables students to be able to recover the details of vintage bags and to analyze the structure of the bag based on thorough understanding of the material part by part. Its Movie Props Team in particular produces movie props and samples of luxury brands that can have a match with those of Hollywood's. Lee and his colleagues are ambitious to spread the excellent Italian culture of 'one's capability comes before personal connection' to Korea and to make Miestelle with Made in Korea on it go global. Meanwhile, Park is visiting his teacher Luigi Limberti this February on the occasion of his (Limberti) birthday. <Power Korea> wishes Luigi Limberti Scuola del Cuoio a fruitful 2017.
