Ensuring internal stability through disciplined management
Construction industry probably is the most affected by the current political uncertainly in Korea. Many buildings built early last year on the advantage of the boom are experiencing high number of vacancies and the investors are in difficulty to recover their funds. CEO Kim Dae-Wook of Hyesung Development Construction said “Construction meets failure when pushed forward with greed only. Patience and thorough preparation therefore are the two basic elements.” Hyesung Development Construction (HDC) has been famous for growing by ensuring internal stability through disciplined management for the last 30 years. It is the principle of HDC not to run business in debt and they are proud of their financial soundness unlike many other firms which normally receive 300~400% financing. This is the reason that HDC has grown rather slow but firmer and stronger than its counterparts and the clients are the first to recognize this. HDC covers various projects such as construction, real estate development and remodeling for buildings of all kinds of purposes. HDC constructed an international standard ice hockey link 15m underground with only private capitals for the first time in Korea in 2013. CEO Kim said “The housing trend today is about convenience and relaxation and we have fully reflected it into the town house.” Kim is ambitious to spread his successful case of the town house to the whole Gyeonggi Province in near future and currently is preparing for a luxury studio flat with 3 storyes underground and 23 storyes aboveground as the first step and he will start building it from late this year. 

Pioneering global market
Another advantage of HDC is that it is a total construction and real estate development services firm. If other similar firms tend to separate development and construction, clients can have it done at one go including after care services with HDC which is the reason that HDC has secured a high level of customer satisfaction. In an effort to pioneer overseas market, HDC has spread its business scope to China for the last 15 years.
