구미시, 2016 대한민국 마이스터대전 구미 성공적 개최
구미시 남유진 시장은 구미코에서 전문기능인을 양성하고 우대하는 사회분위기 조성을 위한『2016 대한민국 마이스터 대전』을 성공적으로 마쳤다. 올해 8회째 개최되는 마이스터 대전에는 각종 경기대회, 이용기술 시연, 전시·체험관, 독일 마이스터 전문가 초청 특강 등 다양한 프로그램 구성으로 이틀간 전국에서 학생, 학부모 등 15,000여 명이 방문하여 큰 호응을 얻었다. 영마이스터 대항전, 로봇경기대회 등 마이스터 경기대회에는 4개 분야 17개 종목을 두고 전국 초중고등학생 540명이 열띤 경쟁을 벌였다. 고용노동부장관상은 영마이스터 대항전 융복합창작종목 구미전자공고 오택준, 이승민, 지병훈, 산업용로봇종목 구미전자공고 박병일, 신태환, 제과제빵종목 울산제빵학원 심지연이 수상했고, 우수학교 교육부장관상은 포항여자전자고등학교가 수상했다. 특히 독일 폭스바겐社 출신의 자동차 정비기술 마이스터 교육자 ‘울프아커만’의 특강에는 특성화고등학교 교장, 학생, 기업인 등 200명이 참석해 강의실을 가득 메워, 선진 마이스터 제도에 대한 높은 관심을 보여주었다. 특강에 참석한 한 학생은 “이번 특강으로 전문기능인에 대한 자부심과 긍지를 갖게 되었으며, 마이스터로서의 꿈을 확고하게 다지는 계기가 되었다”며 소감을 전했다. 남유진 구미시장은 “다가오는 4차 산업혁명을 대비하여야 하며, 높은 기술력과 글로벌한 시각, 남다른 창의성을 갖춘 인재인 미래 마이스터들이 핵심주축이 되어야 한다”며 청소년에게 꿈과 희망을 주고 고학력 청년 실업과 중소기업 인력난 해소를 위한 마이스터 운동을 앞으로도 지속 추진할 것과 아울러, 내년도에도 더욱 알찬 구성으로 준비하여 개최할 것이라고 하면서 정부에서도 이러한 행사에 적극 참여하고 지원해줄 것을 요청하였다.

다문화여성, 영유아부모를 위한 『사람책 도서관』운영
구미시 남유진 시장과 구미시지역사회보장협의체는 지역인사와 독자를 모시고 다문화여성 취업과 육아를 주제로『사람책 도서관』을 운영했다. 첫날 운영된 여성분과『사람책 도서관』은 다문화여성의 취업에 관한 다양한 정보와 지식을 가진 지역인사 6명이 ‘사람책’으로 참여하고, 다문화여성이 ‘사람책’을 대출(직접 만남)하여 정착 성공사례 및 직장생황에 대한 다양한 지식과 정보교류 시간을 가졌다. 한편, 둘째 날 영유아분과 『사람책 도서관』은 육아 전문가 4명이 ‘사람책’으로 참여하고, 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모가 ‘사람책’을 대출하여 육아에 대한 다양한 지식과 아동의 심리․놀이․영양 등에 대한 올바른 정보를 교류하는 유익한 시간이 되었다. 사람책 도서관에 참여한 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모는 “직접 만나서 육아에 대한 궁금한 점과 경험담을 들으니, 책으로 습득하는 것보다 현실적이고 생생한 정보를 들을 수 있어서 유용한 시간이 되었다”고 소감을 밝히고 “앞으로도 사람책 도서관 프로그램이 지속적으로 이어지길 바란다”고 했다. 구미시 배정미 주민복지과장은 “재능기부를 통해 사람책으로 참여해주신 분들에게 감사의 인사를 전하며, 사람책도서관 사업처럼  시민들과 공감하고 소통하는 복지행정을 만들어가겠다”고 전했다. 영유아 분과 『사람책 도서관』은 2011년부터 지금까지 총8회 진행되었으며, 41명의 지역명사가 재능(지식)나눔에 참여했고, 160여명의 시민이 참여하여 다양한 기성세대의 경험과 노하우를 생생하게 전달받는 새로운 지식전이 방식으로 거듭나고 있으며, 여성분과『사람책 도서관』은 올해 처음 운영되었다.

Gumi successfully holds 2016 Korea Meister Fair
Gumi City (mayor Nam Yoo-chin) successfully held 2016 Korea Meister Fair held at GUMICO. The fair fosters skilled man and promotes public recognition on technicians and the 8th fair this year invited German meisters for lecture while running various programs such as demonstration, experience and competitions for 2 days. 15,000 students and school parents paid a visit to the fair and 540 students competed in 17 categories of 4 fields including robot competition. Oh Taek-jun, Lee Seung-min and Ji Byeong-hun of Gumi National Electronic Technical High School won the ministerial prize in the convergence category from the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Park Byeong-il and Shin Tae-hwan of the same school won the same prize in the industrial robot category and Sim Ji-yeon of Ulsan Bakery Academy also won the same prize in the bakery category. The ministerial prize from the Ministry of Education went to Pohang Girl’s Electronic High School as an excellent school. The special lecture given by Wolf Ackerman from Volkswagen attracted an explosive response from 200 school and industrial officials and students. A student gave a feedback “The lecture gave me pride and confidence and it has cemented my dream to be a meister.” The mayor Nam Yoo-chin of Gumi City said “Prospectus meisters are expected to have high level of skills, global mind and creativity in the coming age of the 4th industrial revolution.” Nam added that the city would keep providing an unsparing effort. 

Gumi runs Peoplebook Library
Gumi and the Dream Gumi Citizens Network ran Peoplebook Library by inviting local bigwigs and readers with the subject on jobs for women from multicultural background. The women’s department of the city on the first day of the event invited six local bigwigs, who have vast knowledge and information on women’s career, as peoplebook and the invited multicultural women borrowed the peoplebook (met the bigwigs) to collect the information. On the second day of the event, the infants department of the city invited four specialists as peoplebook and the invited mothers exchanged opinions on psychology, playing and health of infants. A mother said “I obtained more practical information by meeting the specialists than by reading the books. I hope the program will be taken on a regular basis.” Gumi City’s resident welfare department head Bae Jeong-mi said “The bigwigs and specialists participated in a form of talent donation. The city would like to show its gratitude to them and we will keep providing communicative public services.” Peoplebook Library this year marks the 8th anniversary and 41 local bigwigs and 160 residents so far have participated.
