HUEBOSS is an antibacterial functional bedding brand. It has gained popularity for its beautiful design and good price. <Power Korea> paid a visit to HUEBOSS Deagu Seonmun Market Branch, which is one of the hottest HUEBOSS stores nationwide, and met the manager Kim Yun-mi and the director Lee Jong-won of KOBOS, the production company of HUEBOSS. 

A comfort for customers and steady sales for store managers
KOBOS innovatively cut the unnecessary distribution process but strengthened dust-proof and antibacterial functions in order to introduce the bedding brand HUEBOSS. The company secured its own production line and a laboratory to save the design and distribution coast and Kim points high quality, good price and the head office’s low margin but multi directional support as some of the main advantages of running a HUEBOSS branch store. KOBOS also improved the existing problems such as repeated use of the same fabrics, flooding orders and remaining stocks to reduce the burden of store managers. Kim ran a bedding store in Seomun Market, the most famous bedding market in Deagu, for more than 30 years through second generations. She was looking for ways to increase sales around the time she met Lee and he actually has made her dream possible with better bedding products. Kim actually benefited from the fabric for her sons who suffered from rhinitis and she uses it as a good evidence of its effect to customers. Around 70%-80% of the bedding products in Kim’s store are HUEBOSS. Kim says that HUEBOSS is popular among young customers and the blankets made with goose feathers with no sewing lines especially are sought after in winter.

The fabric is developed in cooperation with The Korea Textile Development Institute and the price of each HUEBOSS product is fixed with a price tag. Kim’s store in Seomun Market has all kinds of beddings from home to commercial use and a HUEBOSS product as well as a washing net often come as free gifts to the store regulars. The sales of the store currently is in the top 10% of all HUEBOSS branch stores thanks to the customized HUEBOSS marketing strategies including training and the head office also does not require franchise fee and royalty. There are 30 HUEBOSS stores nationwide at the moment and more than 100 stores are inviting the brand to be displayed on their shelves. The head office also does not ask store managers any cost for interior design and you can open a store with KRW 1 million per about 3 square meters of the store. You are not also forced to sell unpopular products in stock from the head office. Lee says that the current drop in cotton bedding sales is actually being absorbed by functional bedding and there is an increasing number of people wishing to join the business. Kim also predicts that functional bedding will take the center stage of the whole bedding industry in the future.
