제1회 매헌 윤봉길 애국 시낭송대회 성대히 개최
46명의 출전자 갈고 닦은 실력 선보여
지난 10월 1일 오후 1시 용인 포은아트홀 이벤트홀에서는 윤봉길 의사의 업적을 되새기는 ‘제1회 매헌 윤봉길 애국 시낭송대회’가 개최되었다. 이 날 행사에서는 46명의 본선 출전자 이외에도 관객 50여 명, 대회 관계자 및 내빈 20여 명이 함께 자리해 윤 의사의 업적을 마음 깊이 새기는 뜻 깊은 자리가 되었다.

독립운동가이자 시인인 윤봉길 의사의 업적 기려
윤봉길 의사는 우리나라의 대표적인 독립운동가 중 한 명이다. 상하이 홍커우 공원에서 의거를 일으킨 그의 업적은 우리나라의 독립운동에 중요한 불씨가 되었다. 10월 1일 용인 포은아트홀 이벤트홀에서 열린 ‘제1회 매헌 윤봉길 애국 시낭송대회’는 윤 의사의 업적을 되새기고자 올해 처음 치러진 행사였다. 특히 윤 의사 역시 평소에 시를 즐겨 썼던 것으로 널리 알려져 있어 이번 행사는 더욱 의미가 깊었다. 윤 의사의 작품 중에는 의거일 전에 두 아들에게 쓴 “너희도 만일 피가 있고 뼈가 있다면”으로 시작되는 시가 널리 알려져 있으며, 16살 때는 옥련환시(玉連環詩)라는 제목의 시를 지어 세상에 알리기도 했다. 이번 시낭송 대회는 본격적인 행사에 앞서 북춤 축하공연과 함께 선생과 제자가 함께한 ‘도토리 두 알’ 시낭송 퍼포먼스로 문을 열었다. 이번 대회는 시낭송 경연인 만큼 배경음악 외에 그 어떤 시청각 효과나 퍼포먼스를 일체 허용하지 않고, 순수하게 낭독자의 목소리와 가슴으로만 펼쳐진 강연이어서 참가자들의 출중한 실력을 엿볼 수 있는 계기가 되었다.

박정임․전명자씨 공동수상으로 대회 성공적 마무리
한규만 시인 “내년 대회는 더욱 내실 있게 개최해야”
이번 낭송회의 심사위원은 전 한국문인협회 부 이사장 김송배씨, 현 한국문인협회 낭송가회 홍성훈 회장, 낭송가 김종분씨가 맡았으며, 시 분야에 제한은 두지 않았지만 애국시에는 가산점을 부여해 심사를 진행했다. 김송배 심사위원장은 “우열을 가른다는 것이 오류일 만큼 훌륭한 낭송이었다. 낭송기법, 의상, 매너, 가산점 이 네 가지 부문에 대한 채점에 충실했을 뿐 모두가 우승자다.”라는 심사평을 남겼다.

이번 낭송회의 대상에는 강우식 시인의 ‘어머니의 물감상자’를 낭송한 경북 영양 출신의 박정임씨와 윤석산 시인의 ‘빙빙’을 낭송한 남양주 양오중학교 교장인 전명자씨가 공동수상했다. 최고령 참가자였던 조용장(71, 경북 영주) 씨는 두루마기 의상으로 베스트드레서상을 수상했으며, 최우수상을 수상한 박기영 씨는 유관순 열사 의상을 입고 낭송하기도 했다. 이날 대전에서 참가했지만 입상하지 못한 방혜숙(시인, 낭송가)씨는 “낭송가들이 그야말로 기량 차이가 거의 없는 쟁쟁한 실력을 보여준 것 같다. 내년 제2회 때 다시 도전해 보겠다”라는 소감을 밝혔다.

한편, 이번 대회 준비위원회의 일원으로 활동한 한규만 시인은 “출전자들의 수준이 워낙 높았고, 경연자들의 승부욕도 뜨거워서 내년 대회를 더욱 내실 있게 개최해야 하겠다”는 말로 이날 대회에 참여한 모든 분께 감사의 뜻을 표했다.

46 contestants show off their poetry reading skills

The 1st Yunbonggil Patriotic Poetry Reading Contest was held at Yongin Poeun Art Hall on 1 October to remember his patriotic deeds. 46 competitors showed off their poetry reading skills in front of 20 officials and special guests as well as 50 audiences. 

Bonggil Yun, an independence fighter and a poet
Yun is one of the most renowned independence fighters of Korea. He rose up forces against the Japanese at Lu Xun Park in Shanghai which ignited many follow-up independence movements. The poetry reading was held to remember his patriotic deeds as well as his love of poetry and being a poet himself. He wrote a poem at the age of 16 which spread his name to the poetry circle and the poem starting ‘If you also have blood and bones…’ which he wrote for his two sons are particularly famous. A drum dance performance was held to celebrate the contest and the contestants were only allowed to use a background music for their reading.

Jungim Park and Myeongja Jeon win the grand prizes
The judges included Songbae Kim, the former vice president of the Korean Writers’ Association, Sunghoon Hong, the current chairman of poetry reading department of the Korean Writers’ Association, and Jongbun Kim, a poetry reader. The head of judges Songbae Kim said “It was really difficult to point out an outstanding as most of them did brilliantly. We just focused on reading method, dress, manners and additional points but we think all contestants are the winners.” Jungim Park, who read ‘Mother’s Color Box’ written by a poet Wusik Kang, and Myeongja Jeon, who read ‘Bingbing’ written by a poet Suksan Yun co-won the grand prizes. Yongjang Jo, the oldest contestant, won the best dress for wearing his traditional Korean overcoat and Kiyoung Park, who won the first prize, wore the clothe Kwansun Yu, the most famous Korean female independence activist, wore. Hyesook Bang, a poet contestant said “All the contestants were shoulder to shoulder. Although I didn’t get a prize this year I will try next year again.” A member poet of the preparation committee Gyuman Han said “I saw a great passion and level of contestants. We will prepare more fruitful contents and programs next year.”
