Filling up our stomach was just the common purpose of eating in the past. Today, the desire for having quality, healthy and stylish food has surpassed the primitive desire. Located in Sangmu-dong and Suwan-dong, down towns in Gwangju, an American style dining pub ‘Another Kitchen’ is creating a new dining experience in the restaurant franchise at the moment. You can have a steak and a lobster in style at a good price around KRW 50,000. You might have to be patient at least 30 minutes to secure a table during lunch and dinner hours. Another Kitchen uses its own Wet Aging Technique to mature the steaks to be on the hot stone plate and the lobsters from Canada are cooked and prepared in style. Raw fish and sushi must not be undervalued though for they function as fresh sides. 

“I think, Kim explains, more people prefer natural taste to spice-inspired these days. We are not that interested in showy technique that makes the food look great just for a moment but more in using fresh ingredients that will leave a long lasting impression about natural taste.”

Kim worked for Gwangshin Food More, the family distribution business, for a long time and the experience and knowhow he accumulated during this period was a great asset for realizing his own business ideas when he turned 26. 

“As many of us know already, 1 out of 100 restaurants normally wins the cutthroat competition in the food franchise market. So the experience, knowhow and creative ideas are very important.” 

Quality dining experience at good price
Another Kitchen’s good price for quality food comes from direct supply chain Kim has secured. So the hotel-like quality food at good price policy, as a result, attracted a great number of eat-outers especially among families and young people. Sophisticated interior is an additional element to enjoy. The concept of American dining pub also gives uniqueness to tables and plates and the lighting livens up the mood. Two restaurants are currently run in Sangmu-dong (2015) and Suwan-dong (early this year) and the third one will be opening in department stores in Deajeon. To push forward his food franchise business further, Kim recently established a company ‘Another Happy’ and launched a franchise brand New York Bread, an original NY style handmade burger restaurant in Sangmu-dong and Chungjangno, Gwangju. 

“New York Bread uses organic bread and fresh ingredients. The company name ‘Another Happy’ comes from our management philosophy of growing together with partners and employees and we will make it happen with our differentiated menus and knowhow in the field. We have built systems for training, interior, marketing and management consulting that will boost sales and secure steady profits. It is our aim to make small but strong brands and we will always do our best to make it happen.”
