[CEO Imhwa of Ji Sung Fortuneteller]
Imhwa lights a lamp of our time
Korean Thanksgiving Day encourages people to check on their luck

Korean’s fortunetellers are busy on Korean Thanksgiving Day
Fortuneteller hot spot in Jeonju and Gangnam

Like Christmas in the western world, Korean people make a journey back home on Thanksgiving Day. Some of them are happy, some of them stressed and some of them rather worried. They share their story in life with family members or friends but they often face a wall during communication. Naturally, they pay a visit to a fortuneteller whether for fun or serious. Fortune telling in Korea is based on the Four Pillars of Destiny (one’s year, month, day, and hour of birth to see his/her fortune). And fortunetellers are required to have deep knowledge in the theory and personal analytic abilities. Imhwa is a guide whom you can talk about life and fate and share your joys and sorrows. He helps you carve out your destiny, find a peace in your mind and have wisdom in time of trouble. People who once have had a consulting with Inhwa often said “pleasant and exciting”, “great experience to talk with him” and “most valuable meeting I’ve ever had in my life”. He in respond said “I feel really rewarded whenever my clients left this good feedback as it is the goal I intend to achieve at the end of the day. And the true value of the Four Pillars of Destiny is in the process of being positive.”

“Your bad luck can be changed through good advice and trying harder”
Im says that we can change our bad luck. We all have both good luck and bad luck in life and Im’s job is to let you know the way you can change the bad luck. “Telling the client about only the good part of his/her luck in life cannot be a good solution. It is true that fortunetellers feel that they have to because he/she is there to hear promising future. But being honest is more important than just rolling with the situation. That’s why I tell the client ‘you have bad luck’ if he/she actually has and vice versa because we can start to find solutions from that point.” According to the Four Pillars of Destiny, our fate is fixed the moment we are born. This is called ‘life’ and fortune telling starts by analyzing this ‘life’, Im says. ‘Luck’, on the other hand, Im continues, is to change the ‘life’. ‘Un Myeong (luck and life in Korean, fate or destiny in English) is the combination of these two elements (or words if you prefer). Therefore, it is important for us to meet someone who can give advice especially on the latter part, ‘luck’, as turning the bad luck to good or at least not bad counts at the end of the day.

Winning 2016 Korea Future Management Awards
In recognition of his contribution to development of the fortune telling industry in Korea, Im received 2016 Korea Future Management Awards held on 22 July. Hosted by The Herald Business and organized by monthly bilingual magazine <Power Korea> and The Korean Institute of Consumer Management & Evaluation, the awards go to those who have proved future-oriented entrepreneurship. The awards this year went to Gangdong District Seoul, Seosan City, Yeonggwang County and some of local governors and companies. Im says “I’m often being asked from my clients to be a lamp that gives a light to people in pain and sorrow. The request actually brings me bigger responsibilities as a renowned fortuneteller and I will fulfill their request with all my heart and knowledge.” <Power Korea> wishes everyone a good health and luck this Thanksgiving Day.
