여성가족부, 청소년들을 위한 다양한 체험프로그램 가득
여성가족부 강은희 장관이 청소년들이 여름방학기간 동안 꿈과 끼를 키우고, 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 다채롭고 유익한 활동프로그램을 마련해 안내한다. 전국 5개 국립청소년수련원은 생태체험, 야영캠프, 우주과학캠프 등 17개 여름방학 프로그램을 마련해 신청을 받고 있으며, 17개 공공기관에서 역사탐방, 직업체험 등 30개 프로그램을, 전국 청소년 수련시설 및 민간단체에서도 470여개의 다양한 프로그램을 마련했다. 여성가족부는 전국 5개 국립청소년수련원을 통해 숲 체험과 곤충채집 등을 하는 생생한 생태체험캠프와 박물관과 유적지 등을 탐방하는 문화답사프로그램 등을 제공한다. 고흥센터의 경우 우주탐사 과정을 체험하고 항공우주공학의 원리, 우리비행사 훈련 간접체험 등을 할 수 있는 우주과학특성화캠프가 청소년들의 연령과 수준별로 세분화돼 진행된다.

또한, 특히 스킨스쿠버 가족캠프, 가족주말체험, 청소년가족바다꿈 축제 등 청소년들과 가족들이 함께 참여할 수 있는 프로그램이 다수 마련된 것이 특징이다. 한국교육방송공사, 한국마사회, 한국국제교류재단 등 17개 공공기관에서는 방송직업체험, 말산업 진로직업체험, 국제이해 교육 등 각 기관의 업무와 관련해 청소년들의 직업체험을 돕는 다양한 프로그램을 운영 중이다. 여성가족부는 이 같은 모든 여름방학 활동프로그램에 대한 정보를 청소년활동정보서비스 및 전국 초중고 학교를 통해 제공한다. 청소년활동정보서비스를 통해 국민 누구나 프로그램 운영기관의 특징, 위치, 프로그램의 상세 내용 및 프로그램 인증여부를 확인할 수 있으며, ‘e-청소년’ 앱을 다운로드 받으면, 보다 편리하게 관련 정보를 검색할 수 있다. 여성가족부 청소년활동진흥과장은 “청소년들의 경우 시간이 없거나, 어떤 내용의 활동이 있는지 몰라서 활동프로그램에 참여하지 못하는 경우도 많다”면서, “청소년들이 방학기간을 활용해 평소 접하기 어려웠던 현장 중심의 체험활동을 활발히 할 수 있도록 유익한 프로그램을 마련하고 알리는 데 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.  

양성평등주간 특강 ‘여성, 세상에 균형을 더하다’
여성가족부 강은희 장관은 제21회 양성평등주간을 계기로 폭력예방 및 양성평등 관련 강연을 CBS-TV 강연 프로그램 ‘세상을 바꾸는 시간 15분’을 통해 방영했다. 이번 특집 강연의 주제는 ‘여성, 세상에 균형을 더하다’로 의사, 작가 등 전문분야 종사자들과 장애인단체 대표, 자기계발 전문가 등이 강연자로 나서 여성으로서, 장애인으로서, 혹은 폭력피해자로서 겪었던 경험을 토대로 사회적 차별과 폭력을 극복해 온 이야기를 들려줬다. 또한, 고민환(산부인과 전문의) 씨와 서민(단국대 교수) 씨 등 남성 강사들도 참여해, 일상적 삶에서 느끼는 양성평등에 대한 진솔한 생각과 이야기를 나누었다. 방송된 영상은 여성가족부 홈페이지(www.mogef.go.kr)에서 국민 누구나 다운로드 받아 교육 자료로 자유롭게 활용할 수 있으며, 정부도 향후 성폭력·가정폭력 근절을 위한 정부 3.0 국민 맞춤형서비스 ‘찾아가는 폭력예방 교육’에 적극 활용할 예정이다. 정부는 국정과제 가운데 하나인 ‘성폭력으로부터 안전한 사회’ 구현을 위해 폭력예방교육을 강화하고 있으며, 최근에는 범부처 차원의 ‘여성폭력 예방 및 양성평등 사회 환경 조성 대책’을 마련해 여성폭력 예방 환경 조성, 생활 속 양성평등 인식제고 등을 추진하고 있다. 여성가족부 폭력예방교육과장은 “폭력예방교육도 양성평등 인식에서 출발하는 만큼, 양성평등 의식 및 문화 확산을 위해 필요한 다양한 교육콘텐츠를 지속적으로 제작·보급함으로써 국민적 공감대를 높여 가겠다”고 밝혔다.

MGEF launches abundant experience programs during summer holiday
The Minister of Gender Equality and Family (Minister Kang Eun-hee) launches various experience programs for students during the summer holiday. 5 National Youth Centers are currently running 17 programs including ‘ecology experience’, ‘camping’ and ‘space science camp’ and 17 public institutions 30 programs including ‘work experience’ and ‘history trip’. You can also find 470 summer holiday programs in other public organizations nationwide. The center in Goheung County, for example, runs space science tour and students can build knowledge on aerospace engineering. ‘Skin-scuba diving’, ‘family weekend camp’ and various festivals are an additional fun to enjoy. Those who are interested in broadcasting, horse riding and international exchange can find related programs in 17 public institutions including EBS, LetsRun Corporation (racing association) and the Korea Foundation (KF). All the information about the programs and youth activities are found through the Youth Activity Information Services run by the ministry and you can also download the app (e-youth) to find the information you need more conveniently. An official of the MGEF said “Many students don’t know where to find youth programs and activities and we expect the app will increase the number of students who will participate in one or more of our summer holiday programs.” 

MGEF promotes gender equality 
The Minister of Gender Equality and Family televised a promotional lecture ’15 Minutes of Changing the World’ through The CBS on the occasion of the 21st Gender Equality Week. The video lecture invited women, disabled and victims of domestic violence to tell their experience. Go Min-whan, a male obstetrician, and Seomin, a male professor at Dankook University also share their thought about gender equality in the video. The government recently has strengthened education on violence and brought up measures for raising public awareness about gender equality. An official of the MGEF said “Violence often comes from lack of public recognition on gender equality and the ministry will keep introducing effective educational contents and campaigns to create a better society.”
