Recently, people have shown an increasing interest in hardware supporting devices over accessory-driven trend which was ignited by Xiaomi’s portable batteries. It is also reported that numerous companies are actively engaged in research on so called the secondly battery ‘power bank’that can be used for home appliances and multimedia devices. Lastree (established June 2015)’s ‘Enerzip Power Bank’, however, is a high-capacity battery and it attracted a great attention not only from Korean buyers but from the world even at the test sales. It is regarded as leading device of future-oriented electricity and electronic industries. CEO Choi explains “We made Enerzip Power Bank with domestic technology and it has significantly improved the existing Chinese power banks that weigh more than 15kg and are provided without a case. Enerzip Power Bank, on the other hand, is consisted of 4 independent auxiliary lithium batteries (560g, 100W each) and it generates powers from electricity and solar energy to charge the batteries within 6 to 8 hours. You can connect USB, DC Voltage and AC Adaptor (110/220AC) and it is compatible with home appliances, mobile phones and laptops. You can also use it while the cable is being connected in a case and its 4 time layered safety device prevents overvoltage, overpower and overcharging.”In terms of its design, CEO Choi already has applied for patents. The batteries are not made of lead which is common material of the existing power banks that cause environmental pollution and they are much more economic than the same kind lithium ion and iron phosphate batteries in terms of charging unit price.
Korean style design to pioneer global market
Choi developed Enerzip Power Bank as he regrets the fact that major companies like Samsung and LG are reluctant to make auxiliary batteries even though they have original technology despite the increasing market demand for ESS (energy storage system) and UPS (uninterruptible power supply). To compete with Chinese counterparts, Choi designed Enerzip Power Bank to be also used for vehicle by integrating the output. You can use it as ‘jump starter of your car’ when the battery is gone by connecting it with an accessary cable and can change the batteries when needed. Enerzip Power Bank attracted attention at the global exhibitions held in Germany and Hong Kong last March for its innovation and creativeness. Choi says “The countries with large land and constant natural disaster have sent us inquiriesin number about Enerzip Power Bank. To meet their demand, we will keep focusing on developing more related products.” Enerzip Power Bank is also useful for outdoor activities, exploration in remote areas and military operations as well as food truck and manless LED commercials. If the bank is further ungraded, it can also be sued for charging electric vehicles. Choi adds “We have carried out R&D for the last 1 and half years and the product will be released June this year. As commercialization is more difficult than the production in Korea, we will give particular effort in spreading the excellence of Enerzip Power Bank in cooperation with the Korean companies that have original technologies.”<Power Korea> hopes that Lastree will grow into a global company over Korea in near future.
