창조경제혁신센터협의회, 한국마이크로소프트와 MOU체결
17개 창조경제혁신센터 협의체인 전국 창조경제혁신센터협의회와 한국마이크로소프트(Microsoft, 이하 ‘MS’)는 정부과천청사에서 상호협력을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고, 창조경제혁신센터를 거점으로 국내 스타트업 및 SW개발자에 대한 교육프로그램 지원 등 협력 사업을 추진하기로 했다. 이 날 협약식에는 최양희 미래창조과학부 장관을 비롯하여, 세자르 세르누다(Cesar Cernuda) MS아시아·태평양총괄사장, 김선일 협의회장, 최기영 한국MS 최고운영임원(COO)이 참석하였다.

양측은 이날 업무 협약식에서 스타트업 및 개발자를 위한 실무·기술교육프로그램 개발 및 실시, 지역 유망 스타트업 및 중소기업의 글로벌 진출 지원, 청소년·여성 대상 진로/창업교육을 포함한 SW학습 프로그램 및 행사, 창조경제혁신센터의 지역 특화 전략산업 분야에 대한 기술지원 등 총 7개 항에 대해 협력을 약속했다. 한국MS는 업무협약 이후 기존의 교육프로그램, 창업 및 스타트업 지원행사 등을 확대할 방침이며, 협의회 및 창조경제혁신센터들과 협력방안을 구체화할 예정이다. 한국MS는 MS의 기술 멘토링 및 기술지원을 통해 창조경제혁신센터의 지역특화전략산업에 MS가 보유한 기술자원을 활용하여 창조경제 생태계가 한 단계 발전하도록 적극적으로 지원할 계획이다. 최양희 미래창조과학부 장관은 “창조경제혁신센터를 통해 제공되는 MS의 양질의 교육프로그램이 청소년들에게는 미래를 준비하고, 스타트업 및 개발자들에게는 성공창업의 기반이 될 수 있길 기대한다.”라며, 이와 더불어 “MS가 주최하는 각종 컨퍼런스가 혁신센터 보육기업의 글로벌 진출 통로가 될 수 있도록 MS의 적극적인 지원을 기대한다.”고 말했다. 세자르 세르누다 MS아시아·태평양총괄사장은 “MS는 기술을 통한 지속적인 혁신을 꾀하고자 노력해왔다.”라며 “혁신센터와의 MOU를 통해 한국의 스타트업과 개발자에게 더욱 많은 도움과 기회를 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.”고 강조했다.

미래부, 평창동계올림픽 D-2년 기념 특별 세미나 개최
미래창조과학부 최양희 장관은 방송통신위원회, 평창동계올림픽조직위원회와 지상파방송3사, 통신3사와 함께 서울 엘 타워에서 방송․통신 관계자 300여 명이 참석한 가운데『평창동계올림픽 D-2년 기념 특별 세미나』를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 세미나에서는, 5G, UHD 등 신규 방송․통신 기술․서비스의 글로벌 동향과 평창 준비현황을 점검하는 한편, 향후 글로벌 기술과 시장을 선점․주도할 수 있는 방송․통신 각계 추진방향과 상호협력방안 등 “방송과 통신이 함께 하는 평창동계올림픽”을 위한 심도 있는 발표와 논의가 이루어졌다. 최양희 미래부 장관은 이날 세미나에서 “우리나라는 세계 최고의 유무선 통신 인프라와 초일류 방송콘텐츠 제작능력을 보유한 국가”라며, “우리가 우수한 보유역량을 결집하고, 방송과 통신 상호간 협력을 통해 올림픽이라는 기회의 장(場)을 잘 활용한다면, 장차 글로벌 방송·통신 기술과 시장을 선도할 수 있을 것”이라고 언급했다.

동 세미나에 앞선 식전행사로, 미래부 주최로 공모한「평창ICT동계올림픽 아이디어 공모전」당선작에 대한 시상이 이루어졌다. 동 공모전은 평창 ICT동계올림픽 구현을 위한 창의적 아이디어 발굴을 위해 작년 11월 19일부터 12월 31일까지 진행하였으며, 지원한 150팀의 작품에 대해 두 차례의 심사를 거쳐 최우수상 1팀, 우수상 2팀, 장려상 10팀 등 최종 13개 팀을 선정하였다. 향후 미래부는 당선된 우수한 아이디어를 평창ICT동계올림픽 구현 시에 적극 반영할 예정이며, 이를 위해 평창동계올림픽조직위, 강원도청 등 관계기관과 협의해 나갈 계획이다. 

The association signs a MOU with Microsoft Korea
The Association of Korea Creative Economy Innovation Center has signed a MOU with MS Korea to provide a support in seven areas including training programmes for startups and software developers, finding a way for startups and SMEs to enter global market, software and career programmes for youth and women, and technology support specialized for local industry belonging to Creative Economy Innovation Center. Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning Choi Yang-hee, President of MS Asia Pacific Cesar Cernuda, Chairman of the association Kim Sun-il and Chief Operating Officer of MS Korea Choi Ki-young attended the signing ceremony. The minister Choi said "These quality programmes will prepare many youth, women, startups and developers to make a success in each field." Cernuda said "MS has tried to find ways for a continuous innovation and cooperation with Korean counterparts and the MOU, therefore, will give more opportunities for many of Korean startups and developers."

The ministry holds special seminar for Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics
Choi Yang-hee, Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning held 'Special Seminar for Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics' which is held in 2018. The organizing committee, three major broadcasters, three major telecommunication companies and 300 related industry officials participated in the seminar. The participants reviewed on the current global trend on 5G and UHD, preparation process of the Olympics and cooperation measures. There also were in-depth presentations and discussions about the roles of media in the Olympics. Choi said "Korea has the best technologies and infrastructure in wire and wireless telecommunications as well as media contents in the world. If we use 100% of this advantage at the Olympics, we will lead the global telecommunication market in the future." The ministry also held 'Pyeong Chang ICT Winter Olympics Idea Contest' from 19 November to 31 December last year and awarded 1 grand prize, 2 runner-up prizes and 10 participation prizes to 13 winner teams among 150 participated teams. The winners' ideas will be used in the Olympics in cooperation with the organizing committee and the provincial government.
