KOTRA supports domestic companies to enter Amazon
KOTRA starts supporting domestic companies to enter the world's largest online shopping mall Amazon. The support covers from marketing and distribution to finance. KOTRA CEO Jaehong Kim held an event for 'Lunching and Briefing of Incubating Programmes for Amazon Export Companies' at Intercontinental Hotel, COEX on 17 last month. KOTRA finds promising domestic companies and provides training for online marketing including automatic keyword fill-up and hot deal promotion as well as distribution consulting of FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) in cooperation with Amazon. KOTRA also supports Micro-credit programme in cooperation with high street banks for the participated companies. 64 of the first incubating companies will take the training and the second's will be lunched in April next year. Taesik Lee, Head of Strategic Marketing Headquarters of KOTRA said "The US is the largest consumption market in the world and Korean cosmetics and goods are currently gaining high popularity. For this, we will provide all the necessary supports we can for the domestic companies as well as expand the incubating programmes and partnership  with other global online shopping malls."

KOTRA opens two new business centers in Eastern Europe
KOTRA opens two new business centers in Slovakia (Bratislava) and Serbia (Beograd) in order to support domestic companies to enter the market. As a result, KOTRA will be running 125 business centers. KOTRA CEO Jaehong Kim held an opening ceremony at Bratislava on 14 last month. 150 officials and related personnels including the First Deputy Minister of Economy (Slovakia) and Korean Ambassador to Slovakia participated in the opening ceremony. It is highly expected that the cooperation between Korean and the two countries will have a huge potential as both countries are actively promoting high value added industries at the moment. They are also ideally located for Korean companies to enter the central Europe and they also have excellent manpower. For this reason, KOTRA sees them as important manufacturing bases. Volkswagen, Kia, Fiat, Microsoft and Foxconn have already been setting up factories in the regions and it will provide global supply chain for Korean companies. Kim said "Slovakia and Serbia have a huge economic growth potential and there are many areas we can cooperate with them. The opening of the two business centers will provide all the necessary supports for Korean companies wishing to open a business in the regions."
