최근 자동차 시장은 과거에 비해 여러 가지 변화가 있었다. 그 중 가장 큰 변화는 중고차 거래 대수의 증가다. 국토교통부 발표 자동차 이전 등록 현황 통계에 따르면 중고차 거래 대수는 2012년 300만대에 이어 2014년 346만대까지 증가하였으며, 신차 거래의 두 배를 넘는 규모의 시장을 형성하고 있다. 이러한 현상은 특히 경기 침체와 빠른 사회 진출이 맞물려 자동차 구입 연령이 낮아지고 여성의 자동차 구매 역시 증가했기 때문이다. 그 덕분에 구매자들 사이에서는 처음부터 새 차를 사기보다는 일단 중고차를 구매하고 부담없이 타고 다니는 경향이 늘고 있다.

리얼카마켓, 허위매물과의 전쟁 선포하며 화제

중고차 수요의 증가로 인해 판매자들은 대형 매매단지를 설립하고 소비자들과 직접 만나기 위한 시스템을 만들고 있다. 특히 구매 관련 시스템이 잘 갖춰진 매매단지는 구매 과정이 간편하다는 장점을 갖고 있다. 그러나 대형 매매단지는 허위 매물, 미끼 매물 등을 걸러내는 시스템이 명확히 만들어져 있지 않은 경우가 많아 이와 관련된 민원이 많이 발생하기도 한다. 경기도 부천 오토맥스에서 근무하는 리얼카마켓 김형재 대표는 허위매물과의 전쟁을 선포하여 부천지역 중고차 업계의 큰 화제가 되고 있다.

김 대표는 “중고차 구매를 원하시는 분들이 매매단지를 이용하는 것은 기본적으로 믿을 수 있는 기록이 갖춰져 있고 차량의 상태를 확인할 수 있는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 간편하지만 상대적으로 여러 조건이 갖춰져 있지 않은 개인 간 거래와는 비교할 수 없는 장점이다. 그러나 실질적으로 단지 내에서도 허위 매물이나 차량 상태를 제대로 알리지 않는 등 여러 불미스러운 일이 있었던 것이 사실이다. 리얼카마켓은 기존의 여러 관행을 타파하고 구매자 분들이 믿을 수 있는 매물을 가져가실 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하고 있다”고 말했다.

김 대표는 2012년부터 인터넷 카페 ‘리얼카마켓’을 개설하여 허위매물 구별법, 사고내역 구별 방법, 저렴한 금리로 중고차 대출을 받는 방법 등 중고차를 구입할 수 있는 방법을 공개하고 고객을 위한 방대한 양의 정보를 빼곡하게 정리했다. 하루 평균 방문자 수만 6~7천 명에 달하는 리얼카마켓 카페에서는 매일 수십 건의 매물 문의와 답변이 실시간으로 올라오며 김 대표를 위시한 여러 팀원들이 함께 매물을 검증하고 있다.

회사원에서 시작해 보험회사 영업직 등 다양한 직업을 거쳐 현재 3년가량 오토맥스 매매단지에서 근무하며 실매물 100% 리얼카마켓의 신뢰를 다져가고 있다. 리얼카마켓은 매물로 들어오는 모든 차량에 대한 점검을 직접 진행한 후 차량을 출고하며 딜러 전산망을 오픈하여 박리다매 판매를 진행하고 있다. 또한 카페 게시물을 통해 허위매물 구별방법과 허위매물 정보공유 등 구매자들에게 도움이 되는 정보를 제공하여 피해를 최소화하고 있다.
