제주특별자치도 2016년에는 지속적 미래 혁신 위해 역량 집중 
원희룡 지사는 29일 오전 도정시책공유 간부회의에서 “2015년은 여러 분야에서 도전과제와 위기상황들이 끊임없이 찾아왔던 한 해였고 또, 미래를 위한 초석이 되는 여러 가지 성과도 있었던 해였다”고 말하면서 제주의 경제지표가 전국 최고 수준으로 사람, 자본, 지식이 제주로 찾아오고 있는 지금의 상황을 대도약의 기회로 삼아야 한다고 언급하면서 이런 변화와 발전의 과정에서 외부자원과 도민 주체성의 문제, 자연의 보존과 개발로 인한 여러 가지 영향들에 대해 어떻게 관리할 것인가 하는 쉽지 않은 과제들이 놓여 있다고 밝혔다. 또한, 올 한해 공직자, 공기업, 출자출연기관 직원들 모두 수고했다고 격려하면서 도민들은 더 고생해주길 기대하고 있으니 도민들의 따끔한 충고와 아픈 지적들에 대해 귀를 열고 분발해 달라고 요청했다. 2016년 도정은 미래를 위한 지속적인 혁신을 위해 미래창조 사업에 가장 중점을 두고, 미래를 위한 준비의 중심축을 분명히 잡고 도민과의 소통, 관련기관이나 이해관계의 조정을 통해 경제 활성화를 이루면서 민생안정을 이룰 수 있는 부분에도 균형을 맞춰 나가야 한다고 하였다.

공기업과 출자출연기관은 도민 중심의 성장과 분배를 위한 중심축으로 제주를 키우고 성장의 과실을 도민에게 돌려주기 위해 공공자원들 그리고 도민의 역량들을 최대한 끌어 올려 성장을 위한 자본화, 지역경제, 도민주체의 경제역량을 키워 나가는 주력군 역할에 대해 깊이 성찰을 하고 분발을 해 달라고 요청하였다. 마지막으로 감귤과 제2공항 관련하여 갈등과 고민에 대해 잘 대처하여 도정 전반의 활력과 추진력을 얻을 수 있게 연말 마무리와 연초 계획을 잘 세워 새로운 추진 태세를 갖추는데 만전을 기해달라고 당부하였다.

국내 최초 화물전기차 ‘라보 피스’ 제주를 누빈다 
제주특별자치도는 파워프라자 ‘라보 피스’ 화물전기차(0.5톤) 5대를 국내 최초로 제주에서 보급한다고 밝혔다. 제주특별자치도와 (주)파워프라자 대표이사 김성호는 제주도청 제1청사 주차장에서 국내 최초 개발된 도시 및 농촌 생계형 화물전기차(0.5톤) 국내 최초 보급을 기념하여 화물전기차 보급대상자 5명을 초청,「라보 피스 인도식 및 사랑의 선물 배달」행사를 개최했다. 특히, 크리스마스를 맞이하여 도내 147명의 소아암 환아를 위한 꿈과 희망의 선물을 대한민국 최고의 전기차 선도도시답게 ’전국 최초 화물전기차‘를 이용하여 전달할 예정이어서 국내 첫 보급만큼이나 인도식의 의미를 더하게 된다. 지난해 12월 한국닛산에서 국내 최초로 제주에 리프를 보급한데 이어, 올해에는 화물전기차 라보 피스 또한 제주에서 최초로 보급하게 됨에 따라 국내·외에서 제주가 명실 공히 대한민국 전기차 산업을 이끌어 가는 선도도시로 인정받고 있는 것이다.

올해는 지난해 승용전기차(6종) 위주의 보급에서 탈피하여, 농촌․도시 생계형 화물전기차로 보급 차종 다변화(승용 6종, 화물 1종)를 통해 전기차 구매 수요자의 선택의 폭을 확대했다. 이번 화물전기차 보급 완료로 인해 2015. 12월말 기준 제주에서는 전국에서 가장 많은 2,366대의 전기차가 운행될 예정이다. 제주특별자치도 박홍배 경제산업국장은 2016년에는 전국 보급계획의 50%인 4,000대를 제주에서 보급하게 되고, 신규 차종 출시 및 성능개선 등이 뒤따를 것으로 예상되고, 충전인프라 확충도 본격화됨에 따라 전기차에 대한 도민들의 다양한 욕구를 충분히 수용할 수 있을 것으로 전망된다고 밝히면서 전기차 생태계 구축에 역점을 두고 추진해 나갈 것이라고 했다.

Jeju focuses on sustainable innovation for 2016
Won Hee-ryong, Governor of Jeju, made a comment at an executive session "2015 was a challenging year in many areas for us and we had to face difficult situations. But at the same time, we bore fruits especially in creating foundations for our future growth. Above all, we learned to turn crisis into opportunities and achieved the top economic performance. We invited manpower, capital and knowledge to Jeju but how to set up and manage our identity, development and preservation still remain for homework." He continued "I want to express my gratitude to your hard work and I hope we continue to work together this year by reflecting the opinions of our residents. I would like to suggest that we focus on sustainable innovation for 2016 in order to maximize regional economy and its balance in all areas." Won especially mentioned that public institutions and investment agency should take resident-centered growth and distribution as most important and provide a support for resident's active participation. Regarding the second airport and tangerine (local speciality), Won said "Although there is a discordance in opinions, we can reach a rational and effective conclusion if we bring up a practical solutions within the beginning of the year.“

Korea's first electric lorry 'PEACE' to run all over Jeju
Won Hee-ryong, Governor of Jeju, announced that 5 of the Korea's first electric lorry 'REACE (0.5 ton)' would be exclusively released soon in Jeju. Jeju and Power Plaza (CEO Kim Sung-ho) invited 5 beneficiaries and held 'PEACE Handling Over Ceremony & Lovely Gifts Delivery' at the government building. It is meaningful that the 5 lorries will deliver the lovely gifts to 147 pediatric cancer patients. Nissan Korea first supplied Nissan Leaf to Jeju last month followed by PEACE this year. This proved that Jeju is recognized as the best place to lead electric vehicles in Korea. Jeju distributed 6 lines of electric cars last year and added 1 lorry this year in order to give more options for consumers to choose. Including the lorries, Jeju so far has distributed 2,366 electric cars by the end of December last year. Park Hong-bae, Director of Business and Industry Advisory of Jeju said "We plan to provide 4,000 electric cars (50% of total electric cars in Korea) nationwide this year with new lines and improved functions and performance and for this, we will secure more electricity charging points."
