The effect of yellow lacquer gives healthy table
CEO Sangbae Kim of Whanggeumjoeng (Golden Well)
The cure-all tree proves its effect

Old books record that yellow lacquer tree is the one the envoy brought to Qinshihuangdi, the first emperor of China for the elixir of life. Its botanical name is  ‘Dendropanax’ meaning literally live-ever young. According to a recent research, yellow lacquer improves diabetes, strengthens sexual function, improves liver function and immunity, fights against cancer, cures a hangover, vitalizes the body and removes poisonous substance. The reason it has been less known to public was because of lack of method to make the most of its effect and only small amount of it were circulated. The good news is that CEO Sangbae Kim of Whanggeumjeong (Golden Well) developed yellow lacquer into food after years of painstaking researches.

Kim worked in the interior construction industry for 20 years but came to know about yellow lacquer by chance. Kim witnessed a pancreatic cancer patient recovering from regularly taking in yellow lacquer. Kim says "I couldn't believe it at first. But since I witnessed it with my two eyes and I myself have had experience of its effect, I firmly believe its effect now." Kim studied hard with ancient medical books in order to spread the effect of yellow lacquer and has commissioned thorough analysis on its ingredients and research several times in 6 years time and eventually found out the ultimate refining process including brewing time and mixing methods.

Providing healthy and honest food only
Kim's restaurant Golden Well is regarded by people as the only place where you can taste the authentic yellow lacquer dishes in Korea beating all the similar businesses in the market. Kim says "Most restaurants use it like medicinal herbs, but they cannot even make 1/10 of its effect in that way because yellow lacquer food requires a long time effort and passion." Unlike those restaurants, Golden Well uses more than 15 year old yellow lacquer trees growing in Bogildo Island in South Jeolla Province. Kim dries them in a shade for 70 days to protect saponine in the trees. He then splits the dried trees and brews them for 3 days with moderate strength of fire. That way, Kim says, it can maximizes the effect while removing its sour and bitter tastes. As the final stage, Kim mixes the meat broth with various healthy ingredients to make the most popular dishes of Golden Well called 'Yellow Lacquer Tree Haeshintang' and 'Yellow Lacquer Tree Haeshin Samgyetang (chicken soup with ginseng)'. Kim currently has applied for patents for the dishes. Kim also sells Yellow Lacquer Extract at the restaurant. Kim says "I can produce perfect yellow lacquer extract by drying and boiling the root, leaves, stem and other parts of the trees for 100 days. Some restaurants add thorny tree and cedar tree as one yellow lacquer tree only gives small amount of its extract. But this can remove even remained substance of yellow lacquer."

It has been 17 years Kim has lived as a yellow lacquer food specialist. Thanks to his constant R&D, he recently released Yellow Lacquer Soap containing 5% of yellow lacquer that can improve atopy, freckle, pimple and other skin diseases. In accordance with wellbeing trend, Kim is determined to develop and provide only healthy food and products to people. Currently, Kim is running 5 branches in Geumgok-dong in Busan (head office), Pyeongsan-dong and South District in Yangsan, Jangyu-myeon in Gimhae and Beolgyo-eup in Boseong County. Everybody can join the business if you have passion and honest heart. Meanwhile, Kim wishes to give lectures on yellow lacquer in the hope of spreading its effect in the future. Power Korea wishes Kim a prosperous 2016.
