Chicken is one of the most popular food in Korea. Many chicken restaurants and franchise constantly appear in the market but most of them disappear soon. It is a cut-throat market and generating profits in most cases is not guaranteed. But there is a franchise competing by differentiated menu and operation system and is creating a sensation in the food franchise market: Coco Land. The taste of Coco Land chicken is beyond compare. Trendy interior and fresh ideas are useless when the taste is not good. That is why CEO Lee of Coco Land focused on the taste for the last one year. Lee removed the characteristic smell of chicken and uses only 40-50 day old fresh chicken. Lee runs his own distribution network in order to provide chicken at 30% reduced price and therefore the retail price is also 30% cheaper. The chicken goes through low-temperature ripening and is fried twice in an iron pot to give more flavor, chewy texture and crispiness. Also, Lee checks on price and quality regularly. The menu includes fried chicken, seasoned chicken, garlic chicken, vegetable chicken and chicken amnion. 

Franchisee first policy
The cost for rent, interior, ingredient and membership fee are a great burden for franchisees. But with Coco Land, you can do it all at around $10,000 because sign board, lighting, tables, fryers, purifier, fridges and dishes are provided at cheaper prices through partner companies. Also provided are recommendation of good spot and risk management. In addition, Lee remits membership fee and provides free sign board and lightings. Lee says "I spent a year to prepare all of these services from running a factory, market research to launching. It was relatively long time considering the current trend but building a practical system is more important than opening quick and getting out of the business." Lee added "The current franchise market is run by conventional ideas and practice. It is not easy to change old ones with new systems but we will take the initiative in setting up a good example. Like we have done so far, we will keep doing our best to provide healthier food to people and profitable system to our member restaurants." Power Korea supports Lee and Coco Land.
