기업․정부․대학이 하나 되어 농산어촌 중학교 진로체험 지원
교육부는 지난 달 5일 세종컨벤션센터 국제회의장에서 「찾아가는 농산어촌 진로체험버스 발대식」을 개최했다. 이번 발대식에는 시·도교육감, 대학 및 기업체 관계자, 창조경제혁신센터장, 진로멘토단, 한국직업능력개발원 등 150여명이 참석했다. 특히, 내년부터 전면 시행되는 중학교 자유학기제를 지원하고 개인 맞춤형 진로설계를 지원하기 위해 농산어촌에 거주하는 학생들에게 진로체험의 기회를 풍부하게 제공하기 위해 마련되었다. 농산어촌 진로체험버스는 기업, 대학, 전문가 및 창조경제혁신센터의 재능기부와 전문성을 결합하여 2015년에는 우선적으로 농산어촌에 있는 349개 중학교에서 활용할 수 있도록 했다. 그동안 교육부는 농산어촌 학생들의 진로체험을 지원하기 위해 원격영상 진로멘토링 사업과 드림주니어 방송 등을 운영하고 있다. 농산어촌 학생들은 교육청이나 학교에서 보유하고 있는 진로체험버스를 타고 지역 인근의 창조경제혁신센터로 찾아가 센터별 특화산업분야에 대한 이해와 창업 과정, 기업가정신 등을 체험한다. 진로체험버스에 참여하는 민간기업, 대학 및 개인 멘토단은 각종 기자재와 장비, 진로관련 자료 등을 버스에 싣고 농산어촌 학교로 찾아가 학과 체험과 특정 직업 관련 진로 멘토링 및 체험 기회가 제공된다. 한편, 이날 발대식에서는 진로체험버스 운영에 공감하는 대학, 창조경제혁신센터 및 시․도교육청 등이 서로의 강점을 활용한 연계 프로그램 제공을 위해 업무협약(MOU)도 체결되었다. 대학, 창조경제혁신센터, 시도교육청은 상호 협력을 통해 창업현장 견학 및 지역별 특성을 고려한 다양한 진로체험 프로그램을 학생들에게 제공할 것으로 보인다. 황우여 부총리는 “진로체험버스 운영은 민간․정부․대학의 협력으로 이루어진 것으로서 농어촌 학생들이 전문 직업인들을 직접 만나며 자신의 진로를 찾고 꿈과 끼를 키우는 계기가 될 것”이라고 기대했다.

대한민국 평생학습 박람회 개최
교육부가 주최하고 국가평생교육진흥원이 주관하는 ‘제4회 대한민국 평생학습 박람회’가  서울 코엑스 C홀에서 열렸다. 대한민국 평생학습 박람회는 “배우는 기쁨, 함께하는 평생학습”이라는 주제로 모든 계층이 다함께 참여하는 행복학습 나눔의 장이다. 올해는 그간 개별적으로 운영되던 평생학습 행사들 뿐만 아니라 각종 평생학습 관련 세미나도 함께 열어 지역 평생학습 활성화의 다양한 성공사례를 공유하고, 앞으로의 발전방안을 모색하는 등 평생학습 종사자들의 축제 마당으로 진행 되었다. 박람회 기간 동안에는 전국 236개의 평생학습기관 등이 참여하여 다양한 전시와 평생학습관련 체험프로그램 등을 진행했다. 특히 홍보‧전시관에서는 정부가 농어촌 등 교육소외지역에 평생교육을 활성화해 지역을 발전시킨 성공사례와 선취업 후진학을 활성화하기 위해 대학을 평생학습의 중심으로 개편하는 모형 등을 소개했다. 또한, 관련 행사로 지역 평생학습 동아리들의 공연과 평생학습을 통해 지역발전을 이루어낸 우수사례 발표 등이 펼쳐졌다. 박람회 개막행사에서는 올해로 12회째를 맞는 ‘대한민국 평생학습 대상’ 시상식과 올해 새롭게 평생학습도시로 지정된 7개 기초자치단체에 대한 동판 수여식이 함께 개최 되었다. 평생학습대상은 평생학습을 실천하고 있는 개인 및 기관의 우수사례 중 가장 의미있는 활동을 한 개인과 단체에 수여하는 상으로, 올해는 ‘서귀포 오석학교’가 영예의 대상을 수상했다. 황우여 부총리는 “인생 100세 시대를 맞이하는 모든 국민이 개인의 환경에 제약을 받지 않고 평생학습을 통해 각자의 꿈을 실현할 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

Korea to support local middle school experience 
The Ministry of Education held opening ceremony of ‘Itinerant Local Career Experience Bus’ on 5 last month. 150 officials of educational institutions and organizations, companies, Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEIC), career path mentors and Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education ＆ Training participated. Especially, the event was part of effort to support enforcement of the free semester system in middle schools next year. The bus is supported by talent donations of specialists from companies, universities and CEIC and 349 middle schools are expected to benefit from the bus this year. The specialists provide career counseling and work experience to local students and the students travel to nearby CEIC on the bus to learn about the center’s programs such as startup, entrepreneurial spirit and more. Participated institutions and companies also signed MOUs on the opening ceremony to introduce related joint programs. Deputy Prime Minister Wooyea Hwang said “The bus will enable local students to find their future career path and to have related job experience.” Meanwhile, the Ministry has been running Distance-Career Mentoring Project and Dream Junior Broadcasting for local students.

Korea holds Korea Lifelong Learning Expo
The Ministry of Education, organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, held The 4th Korea Lifelong Learning Expo at COEX, Seoul. Under the slogan “Pleasure of Learning, Together Lifelong Learning”, the expo invites every body who have an interest in lifelong learning. A variety of events and seminars took place and they introduced successful cases of lifelong learning promotion. 236 lifelong learning institutes participated to provide experience programs. Especially, the Promotion Hall introduced role models of successful lifelong learning programs in rural areas and of turning the functions of universities to be places for lifelong learning. Several local lifelong learning clubs gave performance to brighten up the mood in the expo. Also, the 12th Korea Lifelong Learning Awards gave the Grand Prize to Seogwipo Osuk School and the organizers delivered Lifelong Learning City plaque to 7 local governments. Deputy Prime Minister Wooyea Hwang said “We will do our best to provide opportunities of lifelong learning for everybody so that they can make their dream com true regardless their age.”
