“군민들의 희망이 담긴 사업들이 골고루 이뤄져 군민의 삶이 윤택해지고 살기 좋은 청도, 아름다운 생명고을 청도를 만들기 위해 5만 군민의 동참 앞에 600여 공직자들은 멸사봉공(滅私奉公)의 정신으로 역동적인 민생청도를 힘차게 열어가겠습니다”

이승율 청도군수는 신기술 신농업 경제선도로 고품질 생산기반 확충을 위해 생산자와 소비자가 상생하는 농정을 추진해 친환경 우수 농산물 생산기반으로 품질 좋고 안전한 농산물 생산과 가공, 유통라인 구축, 판매, 홍보를 연계한 통합 마케팅으로 고부가 가치화를 통한 시장 경쟁력을 높이고, 반시를 활용한 다양한 제품 개발과 딸기, 버섯, 모과, 대추 등을 2차 상품으로의 특화, 미나리 재배·가공의 신기술을 개발해 농가소득을 증대시키고, 청도의 대표 농산물을 읍·면별 특화작물로 육성해 세계적인 명품 특산물로 발전시켜 나가겠다고 밝혔다. 또 함께하는 따듯한 행복공동체 복지청도 구현을 위해 노년층이 사회활동에 참여할 수 있는 제도적 장치마련과 불우노인에 대해 실질적인 복지혜택이 돌아갈 수 있도록 복지 공동체를 구축하고, 장애인 복지회관 건립, 노인요양시설 확충, 면민회관 건립 등 지역주민의 복지 서비스를 향상시키는 것은 물론, 저출산 극복과 여성 능력개발 및 사회참여 강화, 사회 안정망 구축으로 모두가 행복한 도시를 만들 계획이라고 설명했다. 

지난해 세월호 침몰로 인한 안전 강화와 정부 조직개편, 정부의 복지예산확대, FTA 시장개방 확대, 경기침체의 장기화, 유례없는 감 풍작으로 감 가격 하락 등의 많은 변화와 어려움이 있었지만 5만 군민과 공직자 모두가 화합 단결해 군정 주요현안 사항을 함께 걱정하고 동참하면서 위기를 슬기롭게 극복했다. 이와 더불어 청도군은 국비확보에 온 힘을 다해 지난해보다 6.1%증액된 1천77억 원을 확보했으며 올해 당초예산 총 규모는 지난해보다 3.1% 증가한 총 3천232억 원의 예산을 편성했으며 신기술 신농업 경제선도로 고품질 생산기반 확충, 함께하는 따뜻한 행복공동체 복지청도 구현, 교육·문화·예술·체육 활성화로 품격 있는 문화시대 만들기, 관광·휴양·치유하는 한국 제1의 힐링청도 조성, 자연과 사람이 함께하는 살고 싶은 친환경 생태도시 조성, 동남권 산업중추기능 창출과 지역균형개발, 군민을 섬기는 봉사행정으로 신뢰받는 자치행정체제 구축의 7대 군정 운영방향을 추진하고 있다. 

이와 더불어 동남권 산업중추기능 창출과 지역균형개발을 위해 대구권 광역전철 청도 연장사업, 운문령·마령재 터널 개통사업 등 광역교통망 구축사업을 국책사업으로의 조속한 추진과 청도~밀양간 국도 개량사업, 매전~건천간 도로사업의 빠른 시일 내 착공, 청도읍 고수 삼거리~청도교간 시가지 도시계획 정비사업, 삼계권역·유천권역·남성현 감꽃권역·섶마리 권역 등 권역별 종합정비 사업, 청도·풍각 농촌 중심지 활성화 사업 등을 내실 있게 추진하고 영남권 국제신공항 배후 산업단지를 지속적으로 추진해 우량기업유치로 일자리 창출과 경제적 파급효과를 거양해 창조경제 청도를 만들겠다고 전하는 이승율 군수. ‘농업이 살아야 청도가 산다. 농업을 집중 지원하는 창의적이고 적극적인 신농업정책을 펼쳐 모든 농산물이 적정가격을 받을 수 있는 농민 기본소득시대를 열겠다’고 강한 포부를 비치는 그의 행보를 기대해본다.

Mayor of Cheongdo County Seungyool Lee announced a regional economic development plan which includes: producing safe and eco-friendly agricultural products, connecting producers to consumers, securing distribution channels, total marketing, raising market competitiveness, developing new products from flat persimmons, specializing strawberry, mushroom, quince and jujube as the second local specialties and developing water parsley cultivation & processing technology. Also included in the welfare category are; building a system to create jobs for elderly people and more welfare facilities, encouraging childbirth, promoting women’s career and social participation and building social safety system. 

Despite the recent FTA, prolonged economic recession and the fall of persimmon price, Lee and the residents together have worked really hard to overcome the hardships. As a result, Cheongdo County secured approx. $100M government budget (a 6.1% increase) this year with the total yearly budget of approx. $300M (a 3.1% increase). Also, Lee has carried out various projects to promote regional education, culture, art, sports, tourism, residential environment and balanced development in the context of the ‘7 County Administration Directions’. 

Other development projects included extension of Daegu Subway lines to Cheongdo, construction of Unmullyeong-Maryeongjae Tunnel, improvement of Cheongdo-Miryang national highway, construction of Maejun-Guncheon highway, Gosu three way-Cheongdo Bridge maintenance, Samgye, Yucheon, Namsunghyeon, Gamggok and Supmari maintenance, promotion of Cheongdo and Punggak as the centers of the region and invitation of blue-chip companies to the industrial complex behind the new international airport in the region. With these excellent projects, Lee and the 600 civil servants and the 50,000 residents are determined to create a better and economically capable Cheongdo County.
