KOTRA, 美 정부조달 및 정보보안 시장 진출지원 협력 MOU
KOTRA(사장 김재홍)는 14일(현지시간) 미국 워싱턴에서 한미 정상외교 경제사절단의 일환으로 개최된 ‘한미 비즈니스 파트너십’에서 우리 기업의 미국 정부조달 및 정보보안 시장 진출을 위한 MOU를 2건 체결했다. 정보조달 분야에서는 미국 소수계 기업지원청(MBDA, Minority Business Development Agency)과 MOU를 맺고, 경제·사회적 소수계 기업에 대한 정부조달 우대 조건을 활용해 국내 기업의 진출 확대를 지원해 나가기로 했다. 미국의 정부조달 시장 규모는 연간 4천억 달러 규모에 이른다.

또한, KOTRA는 미국 보안산업협회(SIA, Security Industry Association), 한국 지식정보 보안산업협회와 체결한 3자간 MOU를 체결했다. 이로써 미국에서 각광받고 있는 첨단산업 중에서도 특히 우리나라 기업이 경쟁력을 갖고 있는 보안산업 분야에서 시장진출을 확대하기 위한 기반이 마련될 것으로 기대된다. 한편 KOTRA는 이번 경제사절단 행사와 연계, 14~15일(현지시간) 미국 워싱턴과 뉴욕에서 열린 ‘한미 비즈니스 파트너십’에서 정상외교를 활용한 국내 기업의 미국 시장 진출을 위해 1:1 수출상담회를 진행했다.

KOTRA, 수출부진 타개 위한 상시 ‘사이버 수출상담회’ 개시
최근 가히 수출 쇼크라고도 할 만큼 크게 위축된 우리나라의 수출 업계를 살리기 위해 KOTRA(사장 김재홍)가 나섰다. KOTRA가 어려움을 겪고 있는 우리 수출기업들에게 비용 및 시간적 부담이 큰 해외출장 대신 언제든 해외 바이어와 1;1 상담을 할 수 있는 ‘사이버 수출상담회’를 13일 대규모 상담회를 시작으로 상시 운영하겠다는 계획이다.

13일~15일 삼일 간 진행된 ‘사이버 수출상담회’를 시작으로 그 포문을 여는 KOTRA의 상시 화상 수출상담회는 KOTRA 본사의 한 층을 상시 화상 수출상담장으로 조성하여 우리 중소기업이 바이어와의 화상상담을 원한다면 언제라도 이용할 수 있도록 모든 중소기업에게 365일 24시간 개방된다. 아울러 전 세계 KOTRA 124개 무역관은 신규 구매오퍼를 발굴하여 연말까지 우리 중소기업에게 1천회의 화상상담 기회를 별도로 제공할 예정이다.

특히 이번 상담회는 해당 바이어가 위치한 지역의 해외무역관과 본사가 바이어와 기업 간의 1:1 비즈니스 미팅을 일일이 주선하며 △원거리에 있어 그동안 등한시 했던 아프리카, 남미 지역 등 수출 불모지 개척 △중국, 동남아 등 기존 주력 시장의 해외 판로 확대 등을 통해 수출 활로의 불씨를 재점화하려는 취지를 포함하고 있다.

기존의 다른 사업들에 비하면 자칫 소극적인 정책이 될 수 있다는 우려에 KOTRA는 한 번으로 끝나는 일반 상담회가 아니라, 수출 성사가 일어날 때까지 참여기업에게 지속적으로 화상상담회를 제공하여 우리 중소기업의 수출 판로를 끊임없이 개척한다는 데에 의미가 있음을 부각했다. 윤효춘 KOTRA 중소기업지원본부장은 “때로는 전면전보다 각개전투가 효과적인 법”이라며, “바이어를 끊임없이 찾아 수출이 성사될 때까지 수출 게릴라전을 치른다는 각오로, 어려운 우리 수출 부진을 타개하고 우리 중소기업에게 수출 날개를 달아줄 것”이라고 강조했다.

KOTRA signs MOU for US government procurement and information security market
KOTRA(CEO Jaehong Kim) on 14 last month signed two MOUs for US government procurement and pioneering information security market at ‘Korea-US Business Partnership’ held in Washington and New York. Kim signed a MOU with (MBDA, Minority Business Development Agency) for government procurement in order to support Korean SMEs entering the US market. The US government procurement market is known to be worth annual $400B. Also, Kim signed a MOU with SIA (Security Industry Association US) and KISIA (Korea Information Security Industry Association) in order to pioneer information security market. KOTRA also carried out 1:1 Export Consultation at the event.

KOTRA launches Cyber Export Consultation
KOTRA has launched 1:1 Cyber Export Consultation starting from 13th (until 15th) last month in the hope of boosting Korean export industry and it will be running 24/7. For this, one whole floor of KOTRA building will be used for video or web-based export consultation and SMEs wanting to have consultation can use the floor anytime and day of the year. 124 KOTRA Business Centers in the world also plan to carry out more than 1,000 web-based consultations until the end of the year so that the related companies can promote their products in the market. For this, the centers will arrange a meeting with buyers and export companies, pioneer markets in Africa and Latin America and further expand the markets in China and South East Asia. An official of KOTRA said that the consultation would not be a one-off but to be carried out until a business deal is made with each case. Hyeochun Yoon, Head of KOTRA’s SME Support Team said “We are determined to make as many business deals as possible so that our export companies can break through the current economic slump.
