박근혜 대통령, 2015 OECD 과학기술 장관회의 개회식 참석
박근혜 대통령이 2015 OECD 과학기술 장관회의 개회식에 참석했습니다. 2015 OECD 과학기술 장관회의는 OECD 회원국·협력국, ASEAN 회원국 및 국제기구의 과학기술분야 대표가 모여 글로벌 과학기술 혁신 정책 방향을 논의하는 자리다. 이번 회의는 2004년 이후 11년 만에 열리는 회의로 프랑스 파리 OECD 본부가 아닌 곳에서 처음으로 개최되었다.

박 대통령은 과학기술의 발전으로 우리의 생활은 보다 편리하고 건강해졌고 우주까지 탐험할 수 있게 되었으며, 이제는 창의적인 인재, 핵심적인 원천기술이 어떤 자원이나 자본보다 더 큰 영향력을 갖는 시대가 열리고 있다고 강조했다. 박근혜 대통령은 지금 세계 경제는 저성장이 뉴노멀이라고 불릴 정도로 장기 침체가 지속되고 있는데, 이런 위기를 극복하기 위해서는 과학기술과 창의성을 기반으로 한 과감한 혁신이 필요하다고 강조했다.

박 대통령은 창조경제혁신센터 구축을 통한 창업 지원체계에 대해 언급하며, 창조경제가 한국뿐만 아니라 세계 경제의 역동성과 혁신성을 높이는 새로운 성장 패러다임이 될 수 있을 것이라고 기대했다. 또한, 박근혜 대통령은 고령화, 기후변화로 인한 대규모 자연재해 등 우리가 당면한 범지구적 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 혁신적인 과학기술을 적극 활용해야 하고, 글로벌 과학기술 협력을 강화해야 한다고 강조했다. 이와 함께 각 국가가 가진 강점을 활용해 적극 협력할 때 보다 혁신적인 기술개발과 글로벌 시장의 확대도 가능할 것이라고 언급했다. 그러면서 세계 경제사회발전에 기여해온 OECD가 지역공동체와 협력을 통해 보다 많은 국가들이 과학기술혁신에 참여할 수 있도록 노력해 줄 것을 당부했다.

박근혜 대통령, 제70주년 경찰의 날 기념식 참석
박근혜 대통령이 제70주년 경찰의 날 기념식에 참석했다. 박근혜 대통령은 70년의 긴 시간 동안 건국과 구국, 호국의 정신으로 대한민국의 든든한 버팀목이 되어준 경찰관들의 노고에 깊은 감사의 뜻을 전했다. 뿐만 아니라 박 대통령은 국가와 국민의 안전을 위해 자신의 생명을 바치신 순직 경찰관들의 고귀한 희생에 경의를 표했다.

박근혜 대통령은 우리 경찰은 대한민국의 역사만큼 놀라운 발전의 역사를 써왔다고 언급했다. 14만 정예조직을 갖춘 선진 일류 경찰로 도약하고 있는 우리 경찰들은 세계 70개국에 선진 치안 시스템을 전수하고, 1억3천만 달러의 치안 장비를 수출하는 등 치안한류 시대를 열어가고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 OECD 조사 결과 우리나라의 치안 안전도는 6위를 기록하고 최근 ‘4대 사회악 척결’을 강력하게 추진해 범죄 피해와 재범률도 눈에 띄게 줄어들게 되었다.

이어 박근혜 대통령은 이제는 지난 70년의 성과를 토대로 새로운 미래를 준비해 나가야 한다고 언급했다. 먼저 박 대통령은 국민행복의 기초이자 국격의 척도인 기초치안의 품질을 더욱 높여 나가야 한다고 강조했다. 이를 위해 선제적인 예방활동을 강화하고 골든타임을 놓치지 않기 위한 신속한 대응체계 구축에 더 많은 노력을 기울여 줄 것을 당부했다. 나아가 박근혜 대통령은 적극적인 연구개발과 국민의 참여를 바탕으로 미래 치안환경에 대비한 ‘치안 청사진’을 완성해 나가야 한다고 강조했다.

Park attends 2015 Opening Ceremony of OECD Science Ministers’ Meeting
President Park attended 2015 Opening Ceremony of OECD Science Ministers’ Meeting. The meeting is to discuss on policies for global science technology by related officials from the OECD and ASEAN member countries, cooperation bureau and international organizations. The meeting was held in 11 years since 2004 and it was the first time to be held outside Paris where the headquarters of OCED is located. Park said that thanks to science technology we could have more convenience in life and even explore outside the earth. She continued that promoting talented people and developing original technology had more influence than any other resource and capital.

She also said that the world was experiencing an economic slowdown and we needed a bold innovation to overcome this hardship. Park mentioned that creative economy innovation centers would be a new paradigm for raising dynamism and innovation of global economy and using science technology and international cooperation were a must to solve global problems such as climate change and large scale natural disasters. Lastly, she asked the participants of the meeting to give their unsparing effort in science technology innovation.

Park attends 70th Anniversary of the Police Day
President Park attended the 70th Anniversary of the Police Day. Park expressed her gratitude to the police officers who devoted their lives to creating a safe society and paid a respect to those who died on duty. Park said that the 14,000 of the Korean national police had written a great history of development and were advancing to be the best. Korea transferred top police security system to 70 countries in the world and exported security equipment worth $100M. According to OECD, Korea’s social safety level ranked No.6 and the recent ‘Eradication of 4 Social Evils’ police has significantly reduced crime rate. Park said that the Korean national police should prepare for next 70 years and improve service quality by building an anticipative prevention system as well as prompt response system. She added that development of a better social safety system would contribute to creating a better community and society in Korea.
