20 years of knowhow to success
CEO Sanggyu Lee of Baro FS started his career in the food distribution industry in 1993 and has built a wide range of knowledge and knowhow in the field for the last 22 years. It was in 2008 that he challenged for something new. By using his knowhow in distribution and source making, he launched ‘Green Hanoi’ a Vietnamese wrap & shabu-shabu restaurant. It is very famous in Busan for using fresh ingredients and Koreanized-Vietnamese wrap through special source designed to satisfy Koreans. CEO Lee says “The secret of my food is at the source. I have a 20 years of knowhow in source making and developed differentiated sources unlike the existing ones.” Lee then launched his second brand ‘Guiddeul (grill garden)’ last September. Lee developed a unique fire pot and it pre-bakes the meat at 400°C and you can enjoy a variety of meats (chicken, pork, beef, duck) at one plate. The sophisticated cafe-like interior is also attracting young customers. Lee says “You can also enjoy ‘webfoot octopus mixed set’ around $10 for lunch. Currently we are working on new set menus which you will enjoy at prices you can afford.”
Activation of franchise market needed
CEO Lee says “Without differentiated business items, you cannot survive in the franchise market. We keep working on innovative and sustainable brand ideas so that we and the store owners can grow together. Franchise market is taking a downturn a little at the moment. But if we keep introducing creative and diversified brands, the future is not that bleak.” Currently, Lee is providing free startup consultations. From developing ideas, launching, distribution to management, Lee wants to provide more comprehensive and effective directions and methods for startups. Meanwhile, Lee is preparing for opening his yet another brand ‘Dalguddeul’ in December this year. But his ambition cannot be fulfilled with three branches he has launched so far as he is planning to launch as many brands as possible whenever innovative ideas strike his head.
