‘두 번째 인생’은 더 이상 예전처럼 생소한 단어가 아니다. 은퇴 이후에도 이제까지 살아온 만큼의 세월이 남아있고, 은퇴 이후의 인생에 대한 철저한 대비를 해야 한다는 것이 허 교수의 지론이다. 국가에서 은퇴 이후의 삶을 대비해주는 국민연금이라는 제도가 있기는 하지만 해당 제도 역시 경제적 뒷받침에 가까울 뿐 실제로 어떤 인생을 살아야 할 것인가에 대한 방법을 해결해 주기는 어렵다. 이러한 고민을 공유하고 삶에 대한 지침을 제공해주는 ‘제2인생 행복학교’가 개설을 앞두고 있어 초미의 관심사가 되고 있다.

작년 7월 1회, 9월 2회 행사를 성공적으로 마친 ‘제2인생 행복학교’는 2박 3일의 일정으로 나의 정체성 찾기, 어떤 힘으로 살아갈까, 전인(全人)성공 설계도 만들기, 행복과 성공지도 작성법 등 퇴직자 및 예비은퇴자, 신사업구상 및 창업예정자들을 대상으로 캠프를 진행해 왔다. 지난 7월 국회에서 인성 중심의 교육을 위주로 하는 인성교육진흥법이 통과되었으며 여러 민간 기업들에서도 필요로 하는 인재관이 점차 변화하고 있는 만큼 이번 행복학교는 퇴직자들의 두 번째 인생 설계에 큰 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 허태근 교수는 “고령화시대를 맞이한 지금 퇴직자들을 위한 생애교육이 의무화되었다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 인생 100세 시대를 맞아 은퇴 이후인 50~80대까지 내 삶의 로드맵을 설계할 수 있어야 한다”고 기획의 이유를 밝혔다.

행복 빈곤의 시대를 맞아 ‘잘 사는 것이란 무엇인가?’에 대한 의문을 가진 대다수의 사람들에게 인생 후반전 디자인의 로드맵이 되어줄 다양한 프로그램을 구비하고 행복과 성공지도 작성법에 대한 심도 있는 논의와 참여 프로그램 등을 진행할 예정으로 지난 2회의 행사에서 참여자들로부터 꾸준히 좋은 평을 얻어왔으며 이번 제3회 행복학교 역시 알차게 준비하고 연구한 프로그램을 통해 은퇴자 및 은퇴예정자들의 궁금증을 적극적으로 해소해줄 예정이다.

우리의 인생에서 20세의 청년기는 인생의 연습무대이자 학습기간인 봄에 해당한다. 그로부터 40세까지 인생의 전성기라 일컬어지는 기간은 인생의 1막이자 찬란한 여름이며 60세 이후부터는 제2막이 열리며 가을에 접어든다고 할 수 있다. 그렇기 때문에 인생의 제2막을 준비하기 위해서는 기존에 가져왔던 생각과 태도, 행동을 전면적으로 변화시켜야 하며 이러한 변화를 통해 인생의 행복과 성장을 이뤄갈 수 있다.

때문에 ‘제2인생 행복학교’에서는 자신이 꿈꿔오던 목표를 살아온 길과 현재의 위치를 진단하고 자신이 설정한 목표를 이루기 위한 실행력을 키우며 개인의 적극적, 창의적 마인드를 개인의 행복과 조직의 성장으로 연계시키는 과정을 진행할 예정이며 허태근 교수를 비롯한 각계의 명강사들의 강의와 분임 토의, 힐링캠프 등의 알찬 프로그램으로 내실 있는 인생 2막을 준비하고자 하는 많은 이들의 고민을 해결해 줄 것이다.

More and more people are nowadays preparing for their retirement as our life expectancy has significantly increased. We are expecting a second life almost same length as we have lived after retirement and many people already have started to build a plan. We can live on a pension but it only supports our financial need and does not provide any information for what kind of lives we have to pursue. Thus born was ‘Happy School, The second chapter of life’. The school held its first term in July last year following the second term in September. The 2 night 3 day camp provided retirees or soon-to-be retirees various programs such as ‘finding identity’, ‘drawing a success map and happy map’ and ‘startup consulting’. The National Assembly passed Personality Education Improvement Act last July and the school’s personality training program is expected to play a great role for there are many companies which regard one’s personality more important than ability when hiring an employee. Huh said “Lifelong education almost has become compulsory as we are rapidly approaching to an aging society. Therefore, people need to be capable of planning their lives especially for the ages between the 50s and 80s. That’s why I’m planning to hold the third term of Happy School for them.”

Happy School will open its third term program with the slogan called ‘Happy School, The second chapter of life’ in mid October. Huh will throw a question “What is the meaning of living good?” and is preparing a variety of programs that can suggest a road map for a second half of life. Huh’s programs have gained a great popularity among retirees and the third term is also highly expected to quench their thirst. 

The 20s normally is regarded as spring which is a rehearsal stage of one’s life, up to 40 as summer which is one’s heyday and after 60 is regarded as a second phase of life. The point is that the 60s need to change their conventional ideas, attitude and behavior in order to build happiness and growth.
