Seimnuri Corporation becomes a friend in need for foreign students
The mobile service that makes it easy to claim insurance
CEO Jegal Gyu-dong of Seimnuri Corporation

Providing a total solution for foreign students
The number of foreign students in Korea has steadily been increasing thank to the government policy to raise global competitiveness of the domestic universities. However, the complaints about the quality of the curriculums and the support in medicine, culture and welfare have equally increased. Medical insurance in particular is unclear where and how they can receive appropriate treatment  without paying an arm and a leg due to the fact that it depends on the autonomy of each university. This is the point that Seimnuri Corporation launched its business to provide the comprehensive services for foreign students.

Seimnuri is in partnership with 22 universities including Kyung Hee, Korea, Ajou and Bukyong and has 10,000 members (11% of whole foreign students in Korea). The members receive free services on insurance, interpretation and compensation. They can also rent or register a mobile phone, participate in various cultural activities and receive a career advice if they want to work in Korea after the course. CEO Jegal Gyu-dong of Seimnuri Corporation said "The easiest way to adapt to a different environment is to learn about the culture and the history of the country. This is the reason we regularly visit traditional markets and historic sites with the students so that they can be more familiar with the Korean cultural and build a friendship with other students."

Making unforgettable memories in Korea
Those who have lived abroad know well how hard and lonely living in a foreign country. Jegal also would not have known this if he never lived abroad. He came to know that many foreign students did not even have an insurance or did not know how to use it. Jegal pointed out "Foreign students are often called as 'the future leaders of the country' or 'honorary ambassadors of Korea'. But the reality is that many foreign students have a bad impression about Korea due to various discriminations."

Unlike many insurance companies, Seimnuri is providing comprehensive services from buying a policy, damage assessment to compensation for the loss. Seimnuri is also famous for providing a consultation service on tuition fees so that students can maximize its benefit at a minimized cost.

Meanwhile, Jegal started to provide the insurance service on smart phone in Korean, English and Chinese and the students can now register, check hospitals and claim insurance more easily. They can just take photos of the necessary documents with their smart phone and send them without going through faxing or emailing. Jegal said "Using fax, scan and email is becoming inconvenient nowadays and we want to provide easier and simpler services for our members." He also emphasized that "There are many related service providers in the market at the moment but many of them are rather focusing on making profits than providing professionalism. For this reason, we want to be a true friend in need for foreign students." In this respect, Jegal is playing his role as a consultant and an advisor.

Jegal always sets up his goals which he cannot seem to achieve because that equips him with a passion and a challenging spirit and he will do his best to provide more friendly environments for foreign students in Korea.
