운전습관은 차량연비와 안전운전에 큰 영향을 미친다. 급가속과 급제동을 반복하면 그만큼 연비가 나빠지며, 과속은 운전자의 안전을 위협한다. 특히 대형 상용차의 경우 잠깐의 실수가 대형사고로 이어질 수 있기 때문에 안전운전은 다른 무엇보다도 중요하다. 이에 정부에서는 지난 2010년 교통안전법 시행령을 개정해 모든 상용차량에 의무적으로 디지털운행기록계(DTG)를 장착하도록 했다. 

국내 최고 기술의 디지털운행기록계 전문기업
디지털운행기록계란 차량의 속도, 엔진회전수(RPM), GPS 위치정보, 브레이크 작동 유무, 차체 가속도 등 운행기록을 저장하는 장치이다. 국토교통부의 발표에 따르면 디지털운행기록계 사용 이후 사고발생률이 최소화되고 유류비 절감, 소모품비 절감 등의 효과나 나타나고 있다고 한다. 디지털운행기록계 의무 장착이 본격적으로 물살을 타던 2012년, 국내에서 처음으로 제품 국산화에 성공하고 국내외 유수의 특장차 업체와 협력관계를 확립한 ㈜이노카는 탁월한 기술력과 노하우로 명성을 쌓아오고 있다. 특히 완성차에 OEM 공급을 전문으로 수행해 온 이노카는 일반적인 소비자에 비해 상대적으로 높은 규격과 기준을 맞추고자 내구도와 안정성, 성능에서 인정받은 부품을 사용해 보다 높은 퀄리티의 디지털운행기록계 제품을 개발 생산해왔다.

이노카의 김재건 대표는 “이노카의 경영철학은 보다 뛰어난 품질의 제품을 사용자들에게 제공하는 것입니다. 특히 운전자 혹은 타인의 생명과 직결될 수 있는 안전과 관련된 장치이기 때문에 안정성과 품질은 다른 무엇보다 우선되어야 하는 문제입니다”라고 밝혔다. 이러한 노력의 결과로 이노카는 지난해 말, 국제 품질 및 환경경영시스템 인증인 ISO/TS 16949 및 ISO 14001을 동시에 획득하기도 했다. 이노카의 주력 제품 중 하나인 ‘ECO DTG’ 시리즈는 국토해양부 KS 표준 운행기록계로서 차량속도와 운행거리, 운행시간 등의 정보를 기록한다. 또한 G센서를 적용해 순간 가속도를 측정할 수 있으며 CDMA, RF, 블루투스 등 무선통신과의 연동도 가능하다. 또한 지속적인 업그레이드와 함께 전용 어플리케이션도 개발해 사용자들이 간편히 조작할 수 있도록 배려했다.

스마트 기술 도입으로 새로운 도약을 꿈꾸다
많은 이들이 주목하듯 현재 자동차 시장은 ‘스마트카’의 미래로 향하고 있다. 차량에 장착되는 부품부터 운전자의 드라이빙을 돕는 기기까지. 지금껏 개발된, 그리고 개발 중인 모든 첨단기술들이 자동차산업에 집중되고 있는 것이다. 이노카 또한 스마트시대를 맞이하기 위한 프로젝트를 준비하고 있다. 디지털운행기록계에 대한 오랜 노하우와 기술력을 스마트기기에 접목하고자 하는 시도가 그것이다. 이노카 부설연구소장을 맡고 있는 김유원 전무는 “기존의 제품이 독립적으로 작동되는 장치였다고 한다면, 향후의 제품은 여러 가지 외부적 인프라와 연동될 수 있는 기능을 갖게 됩니다. 스마트폰으로 차량 운행 정보를 확인하고, 과속, 급가속, 급제동 등의 잘못된 운전습관에 대한 체크도 받을 수 있습니다. 통신기기와 연결되어 체계적인 운행정보관리를 가능케 하거나, 실시간 교통정보를 활용 보다 쾌적한 드라이빙을 도와주는 장치로의 발전을 계획하고 있습니다”라고 전했다. 실제 이노카는 블루투스나 스크린 미러링 등을 통해 스마트폰과 연동될 수 있는 제품을 개발 중에 있으며, 몇몇 모델은 시제품을 제작해 테스트를 거치기도 했다고 한다. 

김재건 대표는 시장이 올바른 방향으로 성장하기 위해서는 선택과 집중이 필요하다고 역설했다. 처음 디지털운행기록계 시장이 형성되었을 무렵, 법적 강제규정으로 인한 안정된 시장성에 주목한 수많은 이들이 너도나도 제품 생산에 뛰어들었다. 하지만 시장초기의 거품이 빠지고 나자 우후죽순처럼 생겨났던 업체들은 하나둘씩 문을 닫았고, 그 피해는 고스란히 소비자의 몫으로 남겨졌다. 지속적인 유지보수가 필요한데도 이를 서비스해 줄 곳이 순식간에 증발해버린 것이다. 김 대표는 “자유로운 시장경쟁도 좋지만, 그 피해는 오롯이 국민에게로 향합니다. 또한 이는 결국 시장전체의 질을 떨어뜨리는 악순환이 되어 돌아옵니다. 기술력을 갖춘 견실한 기업을 발굴하고 지원하는 게 무엇보다 필요하다고 생각됩니다”라고 밝혔다.

The Korea's best digital tachograph specialized company
Tachograph is a device put in vehicle to check speed, RPM, GPS information, brake status and mileage. According to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT), cars with digital tachograph have less traffic accident rate, fuel cost and parts cost. When the related regulations were about to introduce in 2012, INNOCA for the first time succeeded the commercialization of tachograph in the domestic market and signed a partnership with special equipment vehicle companies home and abroad. INNOCA has developed and produced high quality standard digital tachograph which shows high durability, stability and performance and also supplied OEM for finished vehicles.

INNOCA obtained ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 at the same time late last year. One of its main products 'ECO DTG (series)' is MLIT's KS Standard Tachograph. It is loaded with G Censor to gauge instantaneous acceleration and is compatible with CDMA, RF and Bluetooth. Users can easily upgrade the versions by downloading the app. 

Introducing smart technology
Experts say that smart cars will lead the future car industry. From parts to applications, smart technology and devices are dominating the industry. To catch up the trend, INNOCA is working to combine its knowhow and technology with smart devices.

"If the existing tachograph ran independently, our future digital tachograph will be compatible with various smart devices. You can check your bad driving habit, such as speeding, burst of acceleration and braking, with your smart phone in addition to the information on basic performance of the car. You will also be provided with real time traffic report" says Kim.

Several of INNOCA's products developed with Bluetooth and screenmirroring are already in the testing stage. Kim emphasized on the direction and consistency of INNOCA to grow. Many people jumped into the tachograph market when the related regulation was put into practice, but most of them disappeared soon after leaving much damages to customers with no place for maintenance and repair. 
"Competition in a free market is good but business operators have to take responsibility for the products and services they provide. It is also important for the government to support sound companies."

There are many sound SMEs whose worth have not yet been recognized but they are the driving force of the nation. "Many people poured their passion and effort to develop 'made-in-Korea tachograph'. Bearing this in mind, INNOCA is determined to challenge the global market with the Korean technology and products and we will do our best to achieve it."
