KOTRA, 중국 창업의 메카서 ‘스타트업 투자유치 IR’
국내 스타트업들이 ‘중국 제조업 창업의 메카’ 선전(深)을 중심으로 투자자본 유치를 통한 중국 시장 진출에 나섰다. KOTRA(사장 김재홍)는 13일부터 이틀 간 중국 선전에서 국내 스타트업의 투자유치 IR인 ‘스타트 선전(START　SHENZHEN)’을 개최했다. 중국 선전의 제조업 기반과 풍부한 자본 등 우수한 창업 환경을 활용해 국내 제조 분야 스타트업들의 중국 진출을 지원한다는 취지다.

이번 행사에는 중국 최대 IT 유통기업인 화창(强)그룹을 포함해 투자가, 엑셀러레이터, 제조기업 관계자 100여 명이 참가해 국내 스타트업과의 협력 가능성을 타진했다. 국내 스타트업 10개사는 이들을 대상으로 교육용 로봇 키트, 극장용 무인 티켓 발권기, 소리 기술 기반의 스마트 제품 등 혁신적인 제품을 선보이고, 투자 유치를 위한 IR을 진행했다.

또한 KOTRA는 13일 중국의 갤럭시그룹(星河集團)과 MOU를 체결하고 국내 스타트업에 갤럭시그룹이 운영하는 창업 공간을 1년 간 무료로 제공하기로 했다. 이밖에도 국내 스타트업과 중국 투자가 간의 정기적 소통을 위한 프로그램을 운영하는 한편, 창업 및 투자정보를 상호 제공하는 등 협력해나갈 방침이다.

천종(忠) 갤럭시그룹 부총재는 “선전은 우수한 제조인프라, 풍부한 투자자금, 선전시정부의 든든한 지원 등으로 창업에 관한 세계 최적의 도시로, 우수한 스타트업들이 세계 각지에서 찾아오고 있다”며, “이번 행사를 통해 한국의 우수한 스타트업과 파트너십을 구축하길 희망한다”고 밝혔다.

KOTRA, 한류박람회 홍보대사에 인기그룹 ‘인피니트’ 위촉
KOTRA(사장 김재홍)와 한국콘텐츠진흥원(KOCCA·원장 송성각)은 6일 서초구 KOTRA 국제회의장에서 ‘2015 코리아브랜드 & 한류상품박람회(이하 한류박람회)의 공식 홍보대사에 인기그룹 인피니트를 위촉했다. 인피니트는 지난달 공동 홍보대사로 위촉된 배우 이광수 씨와 함께 한류 콘텐츠의 인기를 경제 한류로 이끌어나가는데 앞장설 계획이다.

세계 최대 규모를 자랑하는 한류박람회는 지난 달 27~29일 중국 경제 중심지인 상하이에서 열렸으며, IT와 제조업에 문화산업과 한류 브랜드를 융합해 ‘경제 한류’를 선도한다는 취지로 올해로 6년째 추진되고 있다. 특히 2013년에는 영국, 2014년에는 브라질에서 개최돼 BBC, Globo 등 현지 주요 언론으로부터 호평을 받은 바 있다. 특히 이번 한류박람회는 세계 최대 소비시장인 중국에서 개최하는 만큼, 한·중 FTA를 활용해 중화권에서 한류를 지속적으로 확산 시키는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

이번 한류박람회는 한류상품, 패션·뷰티, 프랜차이즈, 문화콘텐츠 분야의 우수 국내 기업 106개사와 중국 지역 바이어 600여 개 사가 참여했고, 일반 참관객 30,000여 명이 몰려 역대 최대 규모로 열렸다. 또한 올해는 기존의 일대일 비즈니스 상담회 외에도 다양한 볼거리가 제공되었다. KOTRA는 SM엔터테인먼트와 공동으로 중소기업의 기술력과 한류 콘텐츠를 더해, K팝 공연콘텐츠를 3면 대형 멀티비전(ICT)으로 상영하는 ‘서라운드 뷰잉’을 중국 최초로 상영했다. 

또한 중기 제품으로 스타의 패션과 메이크업 연출법을 시연하는 ‘한류스타 스타일링쇼’, 중기의 우수 제품을 현지 쇼호스트가 소개하는 ‘온오프라인 비즈니스판촉전’, JYP엔터테인먼트가 추진하는 ‘한·중 특별 오디션’ 등이 병행 개최되었다.

KOTRA invites startup investment IR in China
The Korean startups set to pioneer the Chinese market by inviting investments in Shenzhen, the mecca of the Chinese manufacturing industry. KOTRA(CEO Jaehong Kim) held 'START SHENZHEN', which is the investment promotion for Korean startups, for two days from 13 last month. The project is expected to support the Korean startups by using the China's manufacturing industry, healthy capital and excellent startup environment. 

The event was participated by 100 industry officials including the China's largest IT distribution company Hwachang Group as well as investors and accelerators to see the possibilities of cooperation with the Korean startups. 10 Korean startups showcased various products such as educational robot kit, unmanned ticket dispenser and innovative sound-based smart products. 

KOTRA signed a MOU with China's Galaxy Group and the group is to provide free space for the Korean startups for one year. Also, KOTRA will be running regular communication programs and providing the information about startup and investment for both countries.

Deputy CEO of Galaxy Group Chunjeong said "Shenzhen has an excellent manufacturing infrastructure, healthy capital and the local government's support which makes the city an ideal place for startups. Many promising global startups are coming to the city and we hope to build a good partnership with excellent Korean startups through this event."

KOTRA appoints Infinite as an honorary ambassador for Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2015
KOTRA (CEO Jaehong Kim) and KOCCA (Director Sunggak Song) appointed an idol group Infinite as an honorary ambassador for Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2015 in the international conference hall of KOTRA on 6 last month. Infinite and Gwangsu Lee (actor, same appointment) made their vow to contribute to the development of the Korean economy by promoting cultural contents. The expo was held in Shanghai from 27 to 29 last month and this year marks its 6th anniversary. It was held in the U.K. in 2013 and in Brazil in 2014 and was much praised by BBC and Globo. The expo this year was expected to contribute to spreading the Korean Wave with the advantage of Korea-China FTA. 

The expo was participated by 106 top Korean companies in fashion, beauty, franchise and cultural contents and 600 local buyers and 30,000 people and it was the largest scale in history. 

The expo also held a variety of entertainment events alongside 1:1 business consultations. KOTRA and SM Entertainment combined the technology of the Korean SMEs with cultural contents and premiered 'Surround Viewing', the K-Pop concerts on large 3D multi visions. Other events included a fashion and make-up show called 'Korean Star Styling Show' and 'On/off Line Sales Promotion' to promote excellent products of the Korean SMEs'. In addition, JYP Entertainment held 'Korea-China Special Audition'.
