Park attended 'I Am Korea', the grand choral song, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day
A grand concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day was held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Sangam. The event was participated by three choirs which were '1945 Choir' (members of those who were born in the liberation year of 1945), 'Morning Choir' (lawmakers and workers of Noryangjin Fish Market) and 'Yeonah Choir' (Yeonah Kim and the youth in their 20s).
President Park said in her speech "Today is a memorable day as we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day. I hope we all praise the day with one mind and resolve to open a new and promising future. I ask all of you to work together to achieve national unification." After the speech, Park sang 'Our Wish Is To Be One Nation' with 1945 Choir followed by the national anthem sang by Park and the choirs and the 70,000 audience in the stadium.

Park received Britain's foreign secretary Philip Hammond
President Park received Britain's foreign secretary Philip Hammond who visited Korea to participate in the Ministerial Strategic Dialogue and exchanged opinions on bilateral relationship and various other issues. The dialogue was launched for strategic cooperation between the two countries when Park visited Britain in 2013. This year marks the second dialogue and it is playing a role to expand the cooperation scope based on the comprehensive and creative partnership built during the official visit.

Park said that she was grateful that the trade volume between the two countries reached around US$13.2B and emphasized that the trade must further expand. Hammond in respond said that Park's visit enhanced bilateral relationship and as a result, the goal of achieving the trade volume by double by 2020 had almost already been achieved this year and we needed a more ambitious goal now.

Hammond welcomed Park's green house gas reduction plan and encouraged Park to be a role model for the developing countries  in tackling climate change. Park said that the plans against climate change could be an opportunity to create a new growth engine and explained to Hammond about our related policies and she looked forward to a cooperation in the field.

They also exchanged opinions on the North's nuclear issues and Korea-Japan relationship. Park said that she expected to solve the nuclear issues like the recent solution of Iran's but the government in the North was still refuse to come to the table and only enhancing the related technology. She also expressed her concern about the recent explosion of the mines in the DMZ and said that she firmly resolved to put pressure on them while at the same time trying to reopen the dialogue. Hammond in response said that the cooperation between the international societies on sanction and pressure became one of the key factors to solve the Iran nuclear issues and it would be a good lesson for the North as well. He then criticized the North's recent mine attack which injured two South Korean soldiers and emphasized that the attack was a breach of armistice agreement. It is expected that the meeting between Park and Hammond is to strengthen the global partnership between ROK and the UK.
