한때 ‘전원주택’에 대한 로망은 전원에서의 생활을 경험해본 중·장년층과 노년층의 전유물처럼 여겨졌었다. 그러나 최근 발표된 한 조사결과에 따르면 20대 이상 성인남녀의 67%가 ‘노후를 농촌에서 살 의향이 있다’고 밝혀 전원생활을 꿈꾸는 연령층이 더욱 확대된 것으로 드러났다. 전문가들은 그 이유가 ‘도시의 갑갑한 생활에서 벗어나고픈 욕망’과 ‘자연 속에서 누리는 친환경적인 삶에 대한 욕구’ 때문이라고 분석하고 있다.

뛰어난 수도권 연계성으로 전원생활의 두려움을 덜다
바야흐로 본격적인 여름 휴가철을 맞아 많은 이들이 도시를 벗어나 산과 계곡, 바다 등 자연으로의 여행을 계획하고 있다. 특히 최근 몇 년 새 유행처럼 번진 ‘캠핑문화’는 자연과 함께하는 하루가 우리에게 얼마나 큰 ‘힐링’이 되는지 몸소 깨닫게 한다. 이처럼 전원주택에 대한 지속적인 수요 증가는 과거 ‘귀향’이나 ‘귀농’의 의미를 넘어 자연으로의 회귀, 행복한 일상을 위한 도심탈출의 의미를 담고 있다.

김원준 대표는 “전원생활을 희망하는 인구는 앞으로 점점 늘어날 것이라 확신합니다. 전원주택의 활성화는 지역경제 부양과 수도권 과밀화 해소를 위해서도 꼭 필요합니다”라고 밝히며, 다만 부동산 경기 회복과 국가경제 발전을 위해선 정부에서 관련 규제를 최소화하는 것에 관심을 가져야 한다고 당부했다.

Kim said "I'm sure that more and more people will want to have a country house. It will boost regional economy and solve overpopulation in the capital area. But it has to be supported by the government's deregulation."
