난임 환자에게 한방치료로 새로운 희망을 선사하다

성경에 등장하는 지명인 ‘실로암’은 요한복음 9장 7절 이하에 눈먼 자가 실로암 못에서 눈을 뜨고 빛을 보게 되는 사건에 등장한다. 이렇듯 실로암에서 예수님이 기적을 행하신 것처럼, 어려운 질병으로 힘들어하는 이들에게 작은 희망을 보여주고자 설립되었다. 

김형기 원장은 “많은 난치성 질병에 대한 연구를 지속적으로 해오면서 가장 환자들이 힘들게 여기는 것이 난임이라고 생각했다. 그래서 난임 치료에 매달렸고 그 결과 환자들에게 좋은 방향의 치료를 할 수 있었다”며 “난임치료의 핵심은 바로 ‘정자와 난자를 충실하게, 그리고 자궁을 튼튼하게’로 요약할 수 있습니다. 그래서 이러한 목표를 달성하는 방법에 대한 지속적인 연구를 했습니다”고 전했다. 

우선 한의원에서 하는 치료이기에 가장 중요한 부분은 진맥이다. 진맥으로 일반적인 건강 상태와 오장육부의 약한 곳을 확인하고 그 다음에 임신이 되지 않는 원인을 찾는 것. 정확한 원인을 찾은 후 불임의 원인이 많은 이에게는 임신전문한약으로 치료를 하고 원인이 적은 이에게는 일반 보약에 임신에 도움이 되는 약을 추가해서 권하는 것이 실로암한의원의 특징이다. 김 원장은 “개개인에 맞는 맞춤 치료를 하기에 좋은 임신 성공률을 보이는 것이다. 15년 이상 치료해본 결과 2~4개월 정도의 약 복용에서 높은 성공률을 확인할 수 있었고 예전과는 다르게 최근에는 남성들에게도 그 원인이 많은 것으로 나타나 부부가 동시에 치료하는 것이 가장 빠른 방법”이라고 밝혔다.   

또한 “불임을 유발하는 요인이 만혼, 스트레스, 영양부족과 공해 및 환경오염이라는 것을 지적하면서 기본적인 예방법으로는 가급적 일찍 결혼하여 30대 초반까지는 아기를 가지도록 하고, 스트레스를 받지 않도록 여유있게 생활하여야 하며, 균형잡힌 영양 섭취와 함께 오염되지 않은 깨끗한 환경에서 생활하는 것이 필요하다고 강조하며 이런 작은 부분들만 지켜진다면 불임을 어느 정도 예방할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다”고 피력했다. 

봉사는 물론 각종 난치병들의 치료센터 건립을 목표로 정진하다
실로암 한의원 김형기 원장의 큰 목표는 바로 한방을 기초로 해 각종 난치병들을 치료하고 연구할 수 있는 센터의 건립이다. 미래의 목표로 잡고 있는 이 센터에서는 난치병들은 물론 암 및 바이러스 치료법의 연구까지 목표에 두고 있다. 현재 본인이 설립한 창원 소망교회에서 노숙인이나 알코올 의존증, 극빈자 등 소외된 사람들에게 복음을 전하며 한약으로 그들의 질병을 고쳐주는 특수사역을 꾸준히 이어가고 있으며 점차적으로 그 범위를 늘려가겠다는 말을 덧붙였다. 

언제나 본인의 이익 실현보다는 환자들과 이웃들에게 꾸준한 희망을 보여주고 싶다는 김형기 원장. 이런 작은 생각과 활동들이 모여 대한민국 의료계에 큰 변화를 가져 올 것이라는 기대를 해본다.

Feeling the pulse, first of all, is very important. It enables a doctor to check one's overall health status and to find weak points and this can lead to find a cause of infertility. Kim then prescribes special fertility oriental medicine for those with many problems and relatively weak and supporting medicine for those with little problems. Kim said "the reason of high success rate is because I provide a customized diagnosis and treatment. According to my 15 years of experience, patients showed a high success rate by taking my oriental medicine for 2 to 4 months. Also, it is more effective when the couples receive a treatment together as recent statistics show that men also have a lot of factors that can prevent pregnancy." 

Kim pointed out that late marriage, stress, malnutrition and pollution affect greatly to infertility and advised people to marry early and have a baby no later than early 30s as well as not to get stressed, eat well-proportioned meal and live in a clean area. 

Building a treatment center for incurable diseases
Kim's goal is to establish Treatment Center for Incurable Disease (tentative name). Kim said that the treatment area of the center will also include cancer and virus related diseases alongside incurable diseases. Meanwhile, Kim built Changwon Hope Church in order to spread the gospel to homeless, alcoholics and the destitute not to mention that he provides free medical services for them also. Kim is known among the residents as a person who always puts his neighbors and patients first.
