삼성전자, ‘이브 베하’가 디자인한 SUHD TV ‘82S9W’ 출시
삼성전자가 세계적 산업 디자이너 이브 베하(Yves Behar)와 협업해 2015년 SUHD TV의 최상위 프리미엄 제품인 SUHD TV ‘82S9W’를 세계 최초로 국내에 출시한다. 국내에서 가장 먼저 선보이는 82S9W는 올 초 미국 라스베이거스에서 열린 CES 2015(Consumer Electronics Show)에서 CES 혁신상을 수상한 제품이다. TV를 벽에 걸거나 한 쪽에 세워놓는 것이 아니라 집안 공간 어디나 놓일 수 있는 제품으로 메탈 큐브 위에 스크린을 얹은 조각상 같은 디자인이 TV를 예술 작품의 경지로 끌어 올렸다는 평가를 받은 바 있다. 
21:9 비율의 82인치 커브드 스크린은 어떤 화면비의 영상이 입력되어도 자동으로 전체 화면에 영상이 가득차게 보여주는 21:9 자동 업스케일링 기술이 적용돼, SUHD 만의 혁신적 색감과 압도적인 몰입감으로 영화 감상에 최적화된 화면을 제공한다.

커브드 스크린을 마치 미술관 한 가운데 작품처럼 느끼게 해주는 메탈 큐브는 전원이 켜지면 은은한 빛을 내며, 강력한 베이스를 제공하는 서브 우퍼가 내장돼 있어 영화관에 있는 듯한 웅장한 음감을 느낄 수 있다. 이브 베하는 “82S9W는 삼성이 추구하는 한 차원 진화된 커브드 TV를 보여주기 위해 디자인부터 소재까지 모든 요소들이 정교하게 제작됐다”며 “TV를 켜는 순간 몰입감을 경험할 수 있음은 물론, 전원을 끈 상태에서는 집안을 예술적인 공간으로 변화시켜주는 근사한 오브제로 TV를 감상할 수 있을 것”이라고 설명했다. 스위스 출신의 산업 디자이너인 이브 베하는 타임지가 선정한 ‘최고의 25명 선지자’ 중 하나이자, 포브스가 뽑은 “세상에서 가장 영향력 있는 산업디자이너”이다. SUHD 등 최신 기술과 소재를 혁신적으로 활용하면서 실용적인 디자인을 추구하는 것으로 유명하다. 

삼성전자, 2015년형 초고화질 UHD 모니터 국내 출시
삼성전자가 초고화질 해상도를 지원하는 2015년형 UHD 모니터 UE590(모델명 : U28E590D) , UE850(모델명 : U28E850R, U32E850R) 3 종을 국내 시장에 지난 달 10일 출시했다. 삼성전자는 작년에 출시한 UD970(32형), UD590(28형)에 이어 다양한 기능과 크기의 UHD 모니터 라인업을 추가했으며, 이번에 출시하는 UHD 모니터 전 모델에 AMD 프리싱크 기술을 적용했다. 프리싱크란 프레임과 화면 재생 빈도 차이로 발생하는 문제들을 해결해, 고성능 게임과 같이 프레임레이트(Frame rate)가 변경되는 화면을 게이머에게 끊김 없이 부드러운 화면을 제공하는 기술로, 모니터의 주사율과 그래픽 카드의 프레임레이트를 동기화 시켜 화면 끊김 현상이 없는 것이 특징이다.

삼성전자 UHD 모니터는 소비자 사용환경을 고려해 다양한 영상 인터페이스와 사용자 작업 편의성을 더욱 강화했다. 이 밖에도 UE850은 화면 밝기를 자동으로 조절해 전력 소비를 약 10% 감소시키는 기능과 사용자가 원하는 시간에 모니터를 자동으로 꺼주는 ‘오프타이머(Off-Timer)’ 등 다양한 부가 기능을 갖췄다. 2015년형 UHD 모니터는 화면 깜박임을 줄인 플리커-프리(Flicker Free) 기술과 눈에 좋지 않은 블루 라이트를 감소시켜 피로감을 최소화하는 아이 세이버 모드(Eye Saver Mode)를 지원해 모니터를 장시간 사용하는 경우에도 눈의 피로를 최소화한다. 출시 기념 행사는 온라인 구매자를 대상으로 진행되며 상세내용은 삼성전자 온라인 스토어와 각종 온라인 판매 사이트(11번가, G마켓, 옥션, 인터파크)에서 확인 가능하다. 삼성전자 영상디스플레이사업부 김석기 전무는 “고해상도, 고화질 시장의 수요가 점점 증가하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 뛰어난 기술력을 바탕으로 UHD 모니터 대중화를 위해 라인업을 더욱 확대할 예정”이라고 말했다.

Samsung Electronics is to release the best SUHD TV '82S9W' designed by a world famous industrial designer Yves Behar for the first time in Korea. 82S9W won Innovation Prize at CES 2015 (Consumer Electronics Show) held at Las Vegas early this year. The TV can be placed anywhere in a house and its sculpture-like design add a class to your house. The 82 inch screen shows all kinds of picture ratio in a full scale of 21:9 ratio with its innovative color and overwhelming sense of immersion. The metallic cube emits delicate lights when the power is on and the sub woofers provide a magnificent sound like you are in a movie theater. Behar said "82S9W is made with delicacy from design to materials. You can feel a sense of immersion as soon as you turn it on and it can function as an art-like sophisticated object when it is turned off." Behar is one of '25 Best Pioneers' chosen by New York Times and is the most influential industrial designer according to Forbes.

Samsung Electronics, releasing 2015 type UHDTV Monitor 
Samsung Electronics released 3 kinds of 2015 type UHDTV monitors: UE590 (model name: U28E590D), UE850(model name: U28E850R, U32E850R). Samsung Electronics released UD970(32 type) and UD590(28 type) last year and the newly added UHD monitors are loaded with AMD FreeSync Technology. The technology settles problems caused by the difference between the frame and recycling frequency and provides a smooth picture without a cutting phenomenon by synchronizing scanning rate of the monitor and frame rate of graphic card. The monitor also strengthened video interface and user-friendliness. It also adjusts brightness of the screen automatically to reduce power consumption by 10% as well as the Off-Timer function that turns off the monitor automatically. In addition, the monitor minimizes eye strain through Eye Saver Mode powered by Flicker Free Technology.

To promote 2015 type UHDTV Monitors, Saumsung Electronics gives a special introductory event at Samsung and other online shopping mall including 11 Bunga, G Market, Auction and Interpark. Director of Samsung Electronics' Video Display Department Kim Suk-ki said "the demand of the high-resolution & definition monitors is ever increasing. Based on our excellent technology, we will do our best to commercialize UHD monitors by expanding our product lines."
