전경련 허창수 회장, 기업이 국산 농축산물 소비 앞장서자
허창수 전국경제인연합회(이하 ‘전경련’) 회장은 6월 9일(화) 오전 세종대로 삼성본관에 위치한 구내식당을 방문해 ‘기업 구내식당 국산 농축산물 소비 촉진 간담회’를 진행하였다. 이날 방문은 지난해 11월 전경련을 비롯한 경제 4단체와 한국농축산연합회 등이 체결한 「국산 농축산물 소비활성화 및 농가소득 증대를 위한 MOU」의 후속조치로 추진되었다. 허창수 회장이 찾은 구내식당은 삼성웰스토리가 운영하고 있는 곳으로, 하루 평균 약 10개사 7천여 명의 직원이 이용하는 서울 최대 규모의 구내식당이다. 허창수 회장은 주방의 국산 식재료 사용 현황을 살펴보고, 구내식당 운영 관계자에게 국산 농축산물 구매 비중을 늘려 직원 건강도 챙기고 우리 농축산인의 소득 증대를 위해 함께 노력하자고 당부하였다.

삼성웰스토리의 한 관계자는 그동안 농협 및 지자체와 MOU를 체결하면서 국산 농축산물 공급을 확대해 왔는데, 특히 최근에는 건강에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있어 국내산 식재료 구매 비중을 더욱 높여가고 있다고 언급하였다. 또한 국산 식재료 사용 비중을 더욱 높이기 위해서는 우수한 국산 식재료를 합리적인 가격에 구매해 사용할 수 있도록 고객사인 기업, 정부, 일반시민 등도 다 같이 관심을 가져주길 바란다고 밝혔다.

대기업 구내식당부터 국산 식재료 구매에 발 벗고 나서자고 당부
전경련 허창수 회장은 “곡류, 채소류 등 대부분 품목의 국산 구매율은 우수하나, 국산 축산물의 구매가 상대적으로 낮은 편이다”라고 언급하며, “한·중 FTA 추진으로 농축산가의 피해가 우려되는 만큼 기업 구내식당부터 국산 농축산물 소비를 늘려 농가를 살리는 데 힘을 쏟아야 한다”고 말했다.

서울광장에 한류 공연장 만듭시다
전국경제인연합회(이하 전경련)는 6월 3일(수) 오후 6시, 소공동 조선호텔에서 김종덕 문화체육관광부 장관을 초청해 관광위원회(위원장: 박삼구 금호아시아나그룹 회장)를 개최했다. 박삼구 위원장은 인사말을 통해 관광 산업의 경쟁력 강화 방안으로 ①서울광장 내 상설 공연장 건립, ②한라산·설악산 등 친환경 케이블카 설치, ③한·일 관계 개선 등 세 가지를 제안했다.

박삼구 위원장은 “케이팝 가수들의 해외 공연은 연일 매진을 기록하고 있지만, 정작 우리나라에서 공연을 즐기는 외국인 관광객을 찾기 힘들다”고 지적하며 도심 중심부 상설 공연장 필요성을 주장했다. 박 위원장은 서울광장이 최적지임을 밝히며, “명동, 고궁, 인사동 등 외국 관광객 대표 방문지와 1km 이내에 있으면서도 4,000평 규모의 면적이 있기 때문에 외국인과 국민 모두 쉽게 접근할 수 있고 다양한 공연을 즐길 수 있는 곳”이라고 설명했다. 또한 “케이팝 공연 뿐 아니라 클래식, 인디공연 등 다양한 음악이 열려 누구나 잠시 들려 즐길 수 있다면 유익할 것”이라고 언급하며, “정부와 지자체에서 추진한다면 재계차원에서 적극 지원하겠다”고 프로젝트 실현에 강한 의지를 보였다.

이날 위원회에는 박삼구 위원장을 비롯하여 지창훈 대한항공 사장, 김봉영 제일모직 사장, 김수천 아시아나항공 사장, 안영혁 대명레저산업 대표이사, 송홍섭 파르나스호텔 대표이사, 박상배 금호리조트 대표이사, 성영목 신세계조선호텔 사장, 박상환 하나투어 회장, 권오상 한진관광 대표이사, 호텔신라 한인규 부사장, 김영호 한국관광공사 부사장, 한화호텔앤드리조트 김효진 부문장, 남상만 한국관광협회중앙회 회장, 유용종 한국관광호텔업협회 회장, 양무승 한국여행업협회 회장, 박광무 한국문화관광연구원 원장, 윤병인 한국관광레저학회 회장, 경희대 이기종 교수, 한양대 이연택 교수 등 주요 관광업계 CEO와 자문위원 등 22명이 참석했다.

Huh, "enterprises need to take initiative in buying domestic agricultural products"
Huh Chang-soo, the Chairman of The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) held 'Promotion on Domestic Agricultural Products at Canteens' at Samsung Main Building on June 9. The event was carried out as part of the MOU signed by 4 economic organizations including FKI and The Federation of Korea Agriculture and Stockbreeding to promote consumption of domestic agricultural products and farmer's income. Huh visited a canteen, managed by Samsung Welstory and used by 7,000 staff daily from 10 different companies, and check the domestic ingredients being used in the kitchen and asked managers of the canteen to use more domestic products. An official of Samsung Welstory said that they are expanding the use of domestic agricultural products as people's interest in wellbeing and indigenous food are increasing. Huh also asked enterprises, government and the people to work together to promote consumption of domestic products based on the idea of fresh products being provided at a reasonable price. Huh said "the quality of most domestic products including grains and vegetables are excellent but the demand for domestic meat is relatively weak. We needed to take certain measure to promote the sales of domestic meat as Korea-China FTA would affect the incomes of Korean farmers."

FKI to create concert areas in the middle of Seoul
FKI invited Kim Jong-deok, Minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism and held Tourism Committee (Chairman Park Sam-gu/ CEO of Asiana Group) at Chosun Hotel on June 3. Park introduced measures for strengthening competitiveness in tourism such as 1) building concert areas in Seoul Plaza 2) installing cable cars at Halla Mountain and Seorak Mountain 3) improving Korea-Japan relations. Park continued "K-Pop is very popular in overseas but the number of foreigners visiting Korea to enjoy a concert is actually almost none. This is the reason we need to build concert areas in tourists spots such as Myeong-dong, around palaces and Insa-dong", adding that "the concert doesn't necessarily be about K-Pop only but a variety of performance from classical to indie. If the central and local governments are to launch related projects, I would like to actively participate and give a support."
