(주)소리마트(www.soreemart.com)는 기자의 시선으로, 단순히 프리미엄 보청기 할인점으로 명칭하기엔 보다 넓은 시야를 가지고 있는 업체이다. 더불어, 소리마트의 대표이자 보청기 전문 청각사인 이천재 대표의 블로그(http://blog.naver.com/soreemart)를 방문해보면 그가 가진 업무로부터 비롯된 포부와 당당함을 쉽게 엿볼 수 있다.

왜 소리마트인가?
글로벌 보청기 제조사의 마케팅 팀장으로서 리사운드 보청기와 벨톤 보청기의 차세대 주력제품인 MFi(Made for iPhone) 보청기를 지난 해, 최초로 국내에 직접 런칭 시켰던 이천재 대표는 항상 새로운 도전을 즐기며 혁신을 이끄는 개척자이다. ​작년 12월까지 유명 글로벌 보청기 제조사에서 마케팅 팀장을 맡으며 인정받던 그는 홀연 회사를 그만두고 ‘소리마트’라는 보청기 판매 법인회사를 설립하였다. "잘 다니던 회사를 갑자기 그만두고 법인회사를 설립한다고 했을 때, 전 직장 동료들이 극구 저의 결정을 말렸었죠. 특히, ‘소리마트’라는 회사명은 촌스럽다며 동료들이 걱정을 많이 해주었습니다.(웃음) 저 역시 회사 설립을 앞두고 난청센터, 난청연구소, 청각언어센터 등의 단어도 생각해 봤지만, ‘소리마트’라는 단어 자체에 내포된 컨셉이 너무나도 명확하기에 현재는 너무 만족하고 있습니다."

소리마트는 다양한 글로벌 유명 브랜드 보청기를 취급하고 있어, 고객들이 보청기를 고를 시, 선택의 폭이 넓은 편이다. "제조사마다 보청기 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 기술이 다르기 때문에 음색이 다를 수 밖에 없습니다. 또한, 보청기 타입이나 기능 정도에 따라 보청기 제조사마다 잘 만드는 제품군이 따로 있죠. 소리마트는 멀티 브랜드를 취급하기 때문에 고객이 합리적이며 올바른 선택을 할 수 있도록 맞춤 제안을 하고 있습니다."

소리적합에 관한 한 깐깐한 전문가
“얼마 전, 한 아버님께서 따님과 함께 소리마트를 방문하셨습니다. 오랜 기간 동안 공군 파일럿 장교로 근무하셨는데 장기간동안 소음 환경에 노출되셨고, 고주파수에서 급격히 청력이 떨어지는 난청으로 인해 일상생활에서 많은 불편을 겪고 있었습니다. 우측 귀의 평균 순음청력검사 역치는 45dB HL, 좌측 귀는 43dB HL였고 어음변별력은 우측 72%(75dB 강도), 좌측 68%(70dB 강도)로 나타나 보청기 착용 시, 효과를 기대할 수 있겠더군요. 청력상태와 생활패턴 등을 고려하여 오픈형 보청기를 추천해드렸습니다. 또한, 정확한 소리적합을 위해 보청기를 착용한 상태에서 실이측정(REM)을 진행하였습니다. 여기서 실이측정은 탐침송화기(pROBE TUBE)를 외이도 고막 가까이에 삽입하여 음압을 객관적으로 측정하는 것을 말하며 사람의 얼굴 모양이 다르듯이 사람마다 외이도 형태와 용적이 다르기 때문에  실이측정을 하게 되면 맞춤정장을 입듯 개인에게 꼭 맞는 소리적합이 가능하게 됩니다.”

* 어음인지도 검사값은 보청기 착용 시 효과를 예측할 수 있는 지표로 활용되는데, 보청기를 늦게 착용하게 되면 어음변별력이 점차 떨어지게 되고 나중에 보청기를 통해 소리를 듣게 되더라도 말소리 자체를 이해하는 어음변별력이 낮아 보청기 효과를 크게 기대할 수 없게 된다고 한다. 

* 실이측정(REM : Real Ear Measurement)을 해야 하는 이유
사람마다 외이도 형태와 용적이 다르기 때문에 ?표준화된 측정도구인 2cc 커플러와 실이 간의 오차가 발생하게 됩니다. 실이측정을 하게 되면 이러한 오차를 줄일 수 있게 되고, 이러한 차이가 만족도에 영향을 미치게 된다.

Why ‘SOREEMART’?
He was a marketing manager at a global hearing aid company. In a way, he has a character of pioneer to make something new; after all, he launched ‘MFi (Made for iPhone)’, which is the next generation’s main device by BELLTON hearing aid and RESOUND hearing aid, last year for the first time in Korea. He was working as a manager until last December and was recognized as a good employee. Still, he quit the job suddenly and established ‘SOREEMART’ corporation that sells heard aids.  

“When I said that I would stop working there and make my own company, my coworkers tried stop me a lot, because I was a good worker there and working so hard rather than anybody. Especially, they told me the name, ‘SOREEMART’, sounds awful and worried about that as well. (Laughing) Actually, when I was thinking over my own company, I considered names like deafness center, deafness R&D center or hearing and language center but it was so clear to make the name like that since ‘SOREEMART’ has a concept. Now, I am satisfied with the name.” 

‘SOREEMART’ has many other famous global hearing-aid brands, so customers have many choices. “As each company has a different technique, the quality of sound is supposed to be different. Also, each hearing aid company has their own knack for certain things, so they are all different in terms of type of hearing aid or functioning level etc. ‘SOREEMART’ has multi-brands, so we can suggesting the best hearing aid for each customer, which is reasonable and the most righteous way to choose.” 

As for the sound suitability, the picky expert 
“A little while ago, old man came here with his daughter. He worked as for an air force pilot for a long time, and that was why he was exposed to the noise for ages and he was suffering from deafness in a normal life since his hearing ability rapidly dropped from the high frequency. His right ear’s average threshold value of hearing test was 45dB HL, and his left ear was 43dB HL. The speech discrimination was 72% on his right ear (75dB strength) and on his left ear 68% (70dB strength). So, I figured out a hearing aid would help him a lot. I recommended him an open type of hearing aid considering his hearing condition and life style. In addition, for the more accurate sound suitability, I tested the REM while he was wearing a hearing aid. The REM test is to evaluate the sound pressure objectively by putting a probe tube near the eardrum of external auditory meatus. As if each person has a different face, this external auditory meatus’ shape and size are all different in every person, so if we do the REM test, it is possible to work out for the perfect hearing aid for the person as if he/she wears a customized suit or dress.” 

Workers at ‘SOREEMART’ patiently explain enough the customers can know how to change the battery and wear the device for themselves, as customers are usually old who are not good at dealing with any machine or new device. 

“It is mandatory for someone who never wore a hearing aid before to need some time to get used to hear the sound. We are doing the test inside and outside both. The customers are going out with the manager and get some calibration by any situation in the outside, where there is street noise. The manger checks their discomfort and sounds level and so on until they feel satisfied. Thanks to this, our customers are highly happy about that.” 

Basically, all the workers at ‘SOREEMART’ are experts having a license of hearing test and hearing ability and they know something about it and have confidence. 
“We can do anything better than others as the CS consultants. With starting with precise checkup like general hospitals and counseling, ‘SOREEMART’ would like to meet customers who are not comfortable to move with a VIP homecare service.
