Dutch Coffee, the original flavor of coffee beans
Brewing to give master taste and aroma
Woong Kang, CEO of Masterpiece Dutch Coffee

7 kinds of blending that produces perfect harmony
We drink coffee everyday. But not many of us know the fact that there are hundreds kinds of coffee and the taste varies according to beans and roasting & extracting methods. Dutch Coffee is known to have a very popular method as it brews for a long time in high water temperature to create original flavor of the beans and clean taste. Kang says "the method of making Dutch Coffee comes from the need that Dutch sailors wanted to keep the brewed coffee with its original flavor of the beans to be enjoyed for a long time while shipping Indonesian coffee beans to Europe on a ship."

In order to deliver the fresh flavor directly to the customers, Masterpiece Dutch Coffee uses only the brewed coffee made on the day. Their '7¡É refrigerating extract system' enables them to brew fresh coffee even in summer. Especially the 'Cafe Terrace' which contains 7 kinds of blending boasts a perfect balance and is the bestseller of Masterpiece Dutch Coffee. 'The Kiss', on the other hand, is blended with coffee, herb tea and fruit tea for the first time in the world to give unique aroma and 'Masterpiece Decaffeinated' is organically decaffeinated for pregnant women and those breast-feeding mums. Kang continues "competitive products means that they have to satisfy customers. We always listen to our customers and try our best to provide the taste they want."

Consumers' wise choice changes coffee market
People usually buy coffee online nowadays. But it is not easy to discern good coffee from bad ones in this age of overflowing advertisement. Kang says "many Dutch Coffee buyers experienced the coffee by chance in a cafe. But it is not possible to test the taste and flavors online if they have not tried the product before. The best way to find good coffee online therefore is to read reviews and scores from people who bought the product." Open Market, in particular, is a good example as the feedback can only be made by those who actually bought and used it. Meanwhile, Kang predicted that the Korean coffee market would keep growing. There are many opinions that the market has already reached saturation point but Kang thinks that that is the case for only major coffee franchise. Kang predicts that the instant coffee shops would rather be growing in quantity and variety in the future. Kang continues "as I love and enjoy coffee very much by myself, I would like to introduce a variety of taste to more people. Variety in the market, I think, is very important because it can contribute to not only reducing the current price bubble but also to improving the quality.”

Creating beautiful society with delicious coffee and culture
A report says that Korean people drink coffee more than eating rice and Kimchi. The average daily consumption of coffee in Korea is approximately 300 tons and ranked in the second place among Asian countries. Kang pointed out that despite this popularity many people still do not know how to better enjoy coffee. Kang says "coffee itself is life and culture. My goal is to create coffee culture in which people can easily brew delicious coffee at home. I also would like to write a book about coffee in the hope of sharing my knowledge about coffee with more people."  Kang added that he wants to open an offline cafe to directly deliver his fresh coffee to coffee lovers. Kangs passion in coffee was rewarded by winning the Consumer Brand Award early this year. He said that he received the prize because people recognized his passion and professionalism in making coffee and showed his gratitude to the consumers. Kang also added that we need a special consulting programme to support young start-ups so that they can contribute to regional economy. Dutch Coffee clearly has different characters from other coffee. You can make it with cold water and coffee and the taste gets deepen as time goes by. Kang showed his strong will to create delicious coffee and culture in our society.
