여성가족부, 7개 지자체와 여성친화도시 신규 협약 체결
여성가족부 김희정 장관은 한국프레스센터 국제회의장에서 7개 지방자치단체와 ‘여성친화도시 조성 협약식’을 개최했다. 이번 협약식에는 자치단체장, 여성친화도시 협의체 회원, 지역 주민 등 200여명이 참석하여 여성친화도시 조성 협약서에 서명하고, 현판 증정과 함께 자치단체의 조성 계획이 발표됐다. 신규 협약 여성친화도시는 5년간 효력이 유지되어 앞으로 양성평등 정책 사업 공동 발굴, 양성평등문화 확산, 국민적 공감대 확산 등에 공동으로 노력하게 된다. 여성가족부는 2009년부터 양성이 평등한 지역사회를 조성하고 지역 주민의 삶의 질을 향상하기 위해 여성친화도시를 지정하고 있으며, 여성친화도시는 현재 57개 지역으로 확대되었다. 이번에 협약을 체결하는 신규 지정 7개 지자체는 지난해 여성가족부에 여성친화도시 조성계획서를 제출해 심사를 거쳐 여성친화도시로 지정되었다. 2009년에 여성친화도시 1호․2호로 지정되었던 익산시와 여수시도 그동안의 성과와 앞으로의 계획을 심사하여 여성친화도시로 재지정되었다. 여성친화도시들은 지역 특성을 반영한 농촌 여성의 경제활동 활성화 사업, 등하교 안전․놀이․체험 등 가족 품앗이 사업, 여성친화기업 인증제 등 다양한 특화 사업을 추진하고 있다. 이번 협약식을 체결하는 자치단체들도 앞으로 지역 정책과 발전 과정에 여성과 남성이 평등하게 참여하고 여성의 역량 강화와 돌봄, 안전이 보다 강조되어 지역주민 모두가 행복하고 지역사회가 더욱 살기좋은 공간으로 변화하도록 더욱 노력할 계획이라고 전했다. 김희정 여성가족부 장관은 “양성이 평등하고 행복한 여성친화도시를 조성해 주민들이 생활 속에서 실질적인 효과를 체감할 수 있도록 지자체와 상호 협력해 나갈 것”이라고 말하고, “여성친화도시가 계획대로 성과를 거두기 위해서는 자치단체장의 조성 의지와 지역 주민들의 참여가 꼭 필요하니, 단체장과 지역 주민들이 한마음으로 합심해서 적극 노력해 달라.”고 강조했다.

여성가족부, 다문화가족과 ․ 한부모 가족에 육아용품 지원 
여성가족부 김희정 장관과 매일유업㈜ 김선희 대표, ㈜제로투세븐 조성철 대표는 지난 달 5일 매일유업 대회의실에서「다문화가족과 한부모 가족 지원」을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다. 이번 협약으로 세 기관은 저소득 다문화가족과 한부모 가족의 자녀 양육 지원에 서로 협력하게 되며, 분유와 출산에 필요한 물품 등을 향후 3년간 총 9억원 상당 지원하게 된다. 또한, 매일유업㈜ 등은 물품 지원뿐 아니라 다문화·한부모 가족을 대상으로 수유 및 이유식 상담 등 육아 정보를 제공하며, 다문화․한부모가족에 대한 수용성을 제고하고 편견을 해소하기 위한 인식개선 캠페인 등에도 적극 동참하기로 했다. 이번 협약식에는 설 명절을 앞두고 다문화 가족 30여 세대가 참석하여 소원나무에 소원 열매를 달고, 이어지는 유아식 특강에서 분유와 출산 키트를 지원받는다. 김희정 여성가족부 장관은 “이번 협약은 정부와 기업이 손을 잡아다문화와 한부모 가족에 대한 편견을 없애고 이들에게 실질적인 도움을 주기 위해 함께 노력한다는데 의의가 있다.”며 “앞으로도 여성가족부는 한부모 가족의 자녀 양육비 확보를 위한 양육비이행관리원을 올해 3월 출범하고, 다문화 자녀를 미래인재로 육성하기 위하여 각 부처 정책과 연계하여 이중언어 인재 육성 및 해외교류 사업도 확대해 나갈 계획이다.”라고 밝혔다.

The Ministry, signing a new women-friendly city agreement with 7 local governments
The Minister of Gender Equality & Family Heejung Kim held 'Agreement Ceremony of Creating Women-friendly City' with 7 local governments at Korea Press Foundation. The event was participated by 200 people including the heads of local governments, members of women-friendly associations and local residents. They  signed an agreement, presented signboard and announced a local government building plan. The effect of the project is to last for 5 years and they will carry out equality policy projects, expanding equality culture and forming a social consensus. The Ministry has been appointing women-friendly city to improve equality and quality of life since 2009 and 57 cities have been appointed so far. The new 7 local governments submitted a women-friendly building plan and was appointed by the Ministry last year. Iksan City and Yeosu City, which were appointed as the first and second cities in 2009, were reappointed for their performance and future plan. The appointed cities are carrying out women's activity in rural areas, family-friendly exchange of labor and safe leisure experience, and women-friendly enterprise certification. The local governments said that they will strengthen equality, women's rights and safety to make a better and happier local society. The Minister of Gender Equality & Family Heejung Kim said "we will cooperate with local governments to provide equal and better environments for women. For the successful women-friendly city project, we need a participation of local governments and residents and their support."

The Ministry, supporting nursery products for multi-cultural families and single parent
The Minister of Gender Equality & Family Heejung Kim, Maeil CEO Sunhee Kim, and 0 To 7 CEO Sungchul Jo signed a MOU to support multi-cultural families and single parent in a meeting room at Maeil. The three organizations are to support $900,000 worth baby goods for 3 years and will provide the information about infant care. They will also actively participate in the various campaigns to improve the recognition of multi-cultural families and single parent. The event was participated by 30 multi-cultural families and they hung hopeful fruits on a hopeful tree. Milk powder and Birth Aid were also distributed. The Minister of Gender Equality & Family Heejung Kim said "it is meaningful that the government and enterprises work together to improve the recognition of multi-cultural families and single parent and to provide a practical help for them. The Ministry will launch Child Support Implementation Watchdog in March to secure the related fund. We will also promote the children of bilingual talent and expand international exchange projects in cooperation with the policies of each department."
