Dongducheon's representative restaurant where you feel you are in a campsite
Unlimited steak and 50 kinds food stimulate your appetite
Zulu's Grill CEO Byeongyong Park
Camping-atmosphere family restaurant Zulu's Grill
Park is a veteran of food industry who has been running his business for several years around Dongducheon. He used to run a restaurant for US soldiers and recently moved to the current location with new interior and menu. The most outstanding feature is that it is designed with a concept of campsite. Park says "there are many campsites around here as it is surrounded by mountains. I personally like camping but I wanted to try something unique and friendly when I reopened the restaurant. I set up a tent in a corner of the restaurant and scattered camping tools here and there." Zulu's Grill is famous for providing 8 kinds of steak unlimited and this idea also actually came from the fact that campers usually enjoy grilled meat. Alongside steak, they provide 50 other foods include pasta and handmade burger.
"Continuous development of menu and operational innovation are needed"
The food industry this year is not so bright like last year but it is predicted that those who are trendy and have competitiveness will lead the market. This means that when each competitive element is combined with customer's needs it creates synergy effect. However, compared to current trend of attacking a niche market, Zulu's Grill's 450 square meter space is quite a shock. Park says "the first principle of running a restaurant is to have a competitiveness which involves continuous researches on menu, interior and consumption tendency." It means that you can make certain profits after opening a business but you need continuous innovation to keep up the profits. For this, Zulu's Grill updates the menu according to customer's reaction twice a year. Park says "I have numerous inquiries about franchise but I'm focusing on internal stability at the moment because the role and responsibility of head office is very important. And when the time comes, we will launch franchise in earnest with each restaurant sized of around 170 square meters." Meanwhile, Park expressed his unhappiness of the fact that major company's indiscreet entering into the market. With its unique interior and profitable menus Zulu's Grill is rising as an eat-out attraction in the region.
