사회가 발전하면서 많은 부분들이 삶의 질을 높이기 위해 변화하고 또 변화되고 있다. 많은 변화 속에 최근 가장 큰 파장력을 미치고 있는 것은 바로 21세기 최고의 발명품이라 불리는 스마트폰일 것이다. 하지만 스마트폰을 쓰면서 누구나 한번쯤은 베터리가 부족해 난감한 상황을 맞닥 드린 기억이 있을 것이다. 베터리의 용량은 커졌지만 점차적으로 고사양으로 변하고 예상치 못한 상황으로 인해 베터리의 확인 및 충전을 하지 못하기 때문이다. 하지만 이제 이런 걱정을 할 필요가 없게 되었다. 바로 국내 최고의 베터리 전문업체 (주)이젠이 선보인 ‘충전요’가 출시되었기 때문. 월간 파워코리아는 이번 송년호에 스마트폰 충전기 대여 서비스를 선보이며 새로운 문화를 이끌어갈 준비를 하고 있는 (주)이젠 이재성 대표를 만나 그들의 이야기를 들어보았다.
국내 최고의 기술력을 자랑하는 (주)이젠
이재성 대표가 이끌고 있는 (주)이젠은 핸드폰, PMP, DIGITAL CAMERA, DMB 등 국내 디지털 기기의 2차 전지 산업을 선도하고 있는 기업이다. 이미 2차 전지를 응용한 셀드라이브, 셀링크 등 다양한 IT제품을 자체 개발 및 생산하여 국내 뿐 아니라 해외에서도 약진하고 있는 기업으로도 유명하다. 이처럼 베터리 분야에서 최고의 기술력을 자랑하는 (주)이젠이 이제 본격적인 스마트폰 베터리 대여&판매시장에 진출해 소비자들의 불편함을 해소시키고자한다. 이번에 출시된 스마트폰 보조 베터리 ‘충전요’는 24시간, 언제 어디서나 즐길 수 있도록 준비한 프로젝트이다. 국내 편의점과 가맹점을 대상으로 서비스를 열어가고 있는 충전요의 사용방법은 간단하다. 앱을 다운받고 간단한 회원가입을 한 후 편리하게 이용할 수 있다. 회원가입도 복잡한 절차가 아닌 아이디와 비밀번호를 생성하고 휴대폰 인증번호만 입력하면 자신의 바코드가 생성돼 바로 서비스를 시작할 수 있다. ERP 시스템을 바탕으로 기술력을 집결시킨 이 시스템은 POS판매시스템으로 회원바코드와 제품바코드를 이용해 대여 및 반납을 할 수 있다. 가장 편리한 점은 바로 전국가맹점 중 아무 곳에서나 반납이 가능하고 편의점 또한 같은 브랜드들이라면 언제, 어디서나 반납을 손쉽게 할 수 있어 멀리 가야 하는 불편함을 해소시켰다. 향후에는 타 편의점들에서도 반납을 할 수 있도록 확대할 것이다. 또한 충전요 앱상에서 지도 찾기를 이용해 내 위치 기준 가까운 지점을 찾을 수 있어 시간을 절약할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 이는 고객의 입장에서 모든 서비스를 생각했다는 결과이다. 현재 CU 편의점에서 최초로 충전요의 대여 서비스를 시작했고 점차적으로 가맹점과 타 편의점 브랜드로 확대시킬 방침이다. 이재성 대표는 “가입 시 받을 생각이던 보증금을 잠정적으로 보류했다. 이는 충전요의 인식 확대와 함께 반납이 되지 않는 분실율을 파악하기 위함”이라며 “안정적인 반납이 이뤄진다면 보증금 제도를 폐기할 생각도 갖고 있다”고 전했다.
편리함을 넘어 새로운 인식을 심게 될 ‘충전요’
기존 편의점에서 베터리 충전을 해왔지만 사용하는데 있어 내 휴대전화를 맡기고 그 동안 오는 연락을 받지 못해 불편함을 느껴왔을 것이다. 하지만 충전요는 대여요금 2,000원에 보조충전기를 대여하는 것이기에 걱정할 필요가 없는 부분이다. 또한 48시간 내 충전기를 모든 편의점에 편리하게 반납이 가능하다. 현재 미반납 시 24시간 이후 본사에서 한 번의 문자와 48시간 이후 두 번째 문자, 그리고 마지막으로 전화로 통지하고 있다.
충전기의 크기는 건전지 2개 정도로 휴대가 용이해 충전을 하면서 자유롭게 휴대폰 이용도 가능하며 기종에 상관없이 충전도 가능하다. 충전율은 평균 80~100%이며 충전 시간은 대략 1~2시간이 소요된다. 현재 서울 강남지역 CU 매장을 비롯, 전국 8300여 매장으로 확대할 계획이다.
현재 이재성 대표는 “가맹점들을 모집하고 있으며, 별도의 가맹비는 존재하지 않고 따로 매장을 내는 것도 아닌 shop in shop 개념으로 확대할 계획”이라고 전했다.

But everybody has had an experience of being in a difficult situation due to a low battery though its capacity is larger than ever. But don't worry because the Korea's top battery specialized company Egen released 'Chungjunyo(battery)'. Power Korea has met Egen CEO Jaesung Lee and learned about the detail.
Egen boasts Korea's top technology
Egen is the company which is leading the second battery industry for digital devices such as mobile phones, PMP, DIGITAL CAMERA and DMB. Egen is famous for developing various IT products including Celldrive and Celllink which are made by applying the second battery. Egen is now planning to enter the smart phone battery rent & sales market in earnest to solve the problems of inconvenience. Chungjunyo can be used whenever and wherever. Egen is providing their service through designated convenient stores and member stores. Chungjunyo is really simple to use by downloading the app and registering a member (ID, password, verification code to have a unique barcode). It is made based on a POS Sales System 'ERP System' and members can rent and return it by using the unique membership barcode and product barcode. Customers can return it to any designated convenient stores or member stores nationwide. CU started the service first and Egen is planning to cooperate with all other convenient stores(8,300 nationwide) near future. Another advantage is that users can find the nearest stores by using the app. Lee said "I actually planned to require a deposit from the customers in case they lost it but I withheld the plan provisionally and will discard the plan eventually if the return rate is good."
Chungjunyo will create a new concept over convenience
You can borrow Chungjunyo(a secondary battery charger) which costs $2 and it should be returned to designated stores within 48 hours. When it is not returned in time, you get a text after 24 hours, a second text after 48 hours and a phone call there after from the company. You can carry the battery easily as it is small like two small sized batteries and you can use it during the charging regardless your phone model. The charge rate is 80% to 100% and it takes 1 to 2 hours.
Lee said "we are currently inviting chain stores and we don't require any fees or charges and we will expand it by shop in shop rather than by independent stores."
