반영구 화장의 한계 넘었다

메이크업은 얼굴의 단점을 보완함으로써 자신감을 되찾고, 보다 나은 사회생활을 할 수 있도록 도와준다는데 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 꽤 오래전 시작된 화장술은 언제부터인가 반영구적으로 메이크업을 얼굴에 입혀 매번 새로 하는 귀찮음을 없애는 수준까지 도달했는데, 여기서 문제점은 얼굴과 어울리지 않는다는 점과 한번 반영구 메이크업을 하면 쉽게 지울 수 없다는 것이다. 

이런 문제점을 근본적으로 해결하고자 조소영 원장이 연구한 것이 바로 특수메이크업이다. 까메오 특수메이크업은 개개인의 얼굴 근육과 윤곽, 얼굴의 색과 이목구비의 간격까지 파악해 가장 잘 어울릴 수 있는 메이크업을 하게 된다. 

또한, 기존 반영구화장법이 피부 속 모세혈관까지 색소가 침투해 한번 메이크업을 하게 되면 어울리지 않아도 참아야 하고, 정 지우고 싶을 경우엔 레이저 시술을 통해 문신을 지우듯 지울 수밖에 없는 단점이 있다. 조 대표가 하는 특수메이크업의 경우 표피층 0.15mm까지만 메이크업 작업을 하기 때문에 시간이 지나면 자연스럽게 색이 빠지고, 안전성까지 입증 받아 최근에는 반영구 화장법을 넘어선 이 특수메이크업에 대한 관심이 크다. 

주목할 점은 반영구적인 메이크업에 대한 특수메이크업 방법으로 눈썹, 아이라인, 입술 기법을 개발해 특허를 획득했다는 점인데, 이는 조 대표가 개발한 기술에 대한 안전성을 입증 받은 계기이며, 기존에 없던 새로운 기술로 고객의 니즈를 정확하게 파고들 수 있는 신기술이라는 점에 대한 인증으로 볼 수 있다. 

이렇듯, 조 대표는 반영구 화장법은 사람의 얼굴에 그림을 그리는 것이 아니라 아름다움을 창조해 내야하는 아티스트적인 마인드와 함께 자연스러움, 안전성까지 겸비한 의료적 수준에 도달한 기술이 접목돼야 한다고 전한다. 

특히 그의 가장 장점으로 꼽히는 ‘자연눈썹’은 반영구 화장의 장점과 메이크업의 장점을 접목한 것으로 마이크로 니들을 이용해 얼굴형, 안면골격, 피부톤 등 개개인의 특징에 맞는 눈썹을 완성해 냈다. 

이 자연눈썹 기술을 완성하기 위해 조 대표는 10년 넘는 메이크업아티스트 활동으로 익힌 노하우와 아름다움을 인정받는 연예인들의 실제 눈썹의 흐름을 연구 했는데, 이를 통해 눈썹의 가장 이상적인 형태를 찾게 됐다고 한다. 

최근에는 보통 여성들이 주 고객층을 이루던 자연눈썹 기술을 찾는 남성들이 늘고 있다고 전한다. 이는 눈썹이 첫인상의 큰 부분을 차지하고, 관상학적으로도 눈썹 모양의 중요성이 언론을 통해 많이 알려지다 보니 화장의 측면보다는 이미지의 변화를 위한 관심으로 보인다. 또, 남자눈썹의 경우에 반영구 화장을 하게 되면 메이크업을 한 느낌이 들지만 조 대표의 자연눈썹은 태어날 때 가지고 나온듯한 착각을 불러올 정도로 자연스럽기 때문에 남성들에게도 거부감 없이 다가갈 수 있는 계기가 된 것으로 판단된다. 

이 외에도 아이라인 특수 메이크업은 눈동자와 만나는 점막에 작업을 하기 때문에 자연스러운 꼬리를 만들어 시원한 눈매를 연출할 수 있고, 입술 특수메이크업은 자연스러운 색상의 표현으로 얼굴과의 조화를 강조할 수 있다. 

현재는 서경대학교 미용예술학과에서 최초로 도입 특수메이크업 전문기술 강의를 하고, 까메오 특수메이크업 연구소에서 전문가 및 후학을 양성하고 있는 조소영 대표.

앞으로 그는 특수메이크업의 발전을 위해 꾸준한 연구와 실습, 그리고 많은 전문가 양성으로 메이크업 시장을 일보 전진시키는 역할에 충실할 것이라고 전한다. 

또, 이번 9월 상해 세미나에서 조소영 대표는 특수메이크업에 대한 프리젠테이션이 예정돼 있는데, 이런 다양한 행사 참여를 통해 특수메이크업을 수면 위로 끌어올려 더 많은 고객들의 니즈에 맞출 수 있는 활동을 펼칠 것이며, 전문지식의 습득 및 전달에도 노력할 것이라는 뜻을 전했다.

Makeup significantly helps one recover self-confidence by supplementing her facial shortcomings and lead a better social life. Makeup technique with some history reached sometime ago the level of shedding the trouble in redressing oneself each time by putting a semipermanent makeup on one’s face. Here, the problem is that it may result in not going with one’s face and that once you put on a semipermanent makeup, it is not easy to take off. 

To work out these problems, President Cho So-yeong has invented her special makeup. Cameo special makeup leads you to the best-suited makeup by grasping each person’s facial muscles, contours, colors and even intervals between ear, eye, mouth and nose. 

Besides, the existing semipermanent makeup has its drawbacks. Since the coloring matter penetrates into a capillary vessel under the skin, you have to bear it even when the onetime makeup never goes with you. If you insist on taking it off, you have to go through laser surgery as if in removing a tattoo. In President Cho’s special makeup, however, the makeup work proceeds only to 0.15mm in the epidermis, so with time it discolors naturally. Still, with proven safety, this special makeup rising above the semipermanent makeup is recently drawing great attention.  

Noticeably, President Cho obtained a patent by developing special makeup techniques on eyebrow, eyeliner and lips against the semipermanent one, which has conclusively proved the safety of this new technique. This accounts for the certification on a new technique that can accommodate the customers’ needs fully.            

Like this, President Cho says that semipermanent makeup is not simply drawing a picture on a person’s face. It must be a technology to reach a near-medical level by combining with naturalness and safety as well as the mindset as an artist for creating beauty.     

Especially, as the biggest strength, her ‘natural eyebrows’ combine the merits of seminpermanent makeup and original makeup, which has completed the eyebrows suited for each one’s characteristics of facial shape and structure, skin tone, etc. using a micro-needle. 

To perfect this natural eyebrow technique, President Cho worked on the trend of actual eyebrows from celebrities with accepted beauty in addition to her knowhow earned from over 10 years’ career as a makeup artist, through which she says she has found the most ideal shape of the eyebrows. 

She says that this natural eyebrow technique, for which women was a main customer group, is now drawing the increasing number of male persons. This seems to be a concern for the change of one’s image rather than makeup itself because the eyebrows take up a large portion of one’s first impression with personological importance of its shape made much known through media. For case of male eyebrows, semipermanent makeup shows itself but President Cho’s natural eyebrows looks so natural as if from birth that it is considered to appeal to male persons without reluctance. 

Besides, eyeliner special makeup performed on the mucous membrane in contact with the pupil produces a natural and cool shape of one’s eyes while special makeup for lips can emphasize the harmony with one’s face by expressing natural colors.

President Cho So-yeong is currently giving lectures on special makeup technique at Seokyeong University, the department of beauty art, which introduced this course for the first time, and rearing professionals and students at Cameo Institute of Special Makeup. 

He says that for the development of special makeup, he will be devoted to continued research and practice rearing many specialists with a view to advance the market of makeup. 

President Cho is also going to hold a presentation on special makeup at Shanghai seminar this September. Through such participation in diverse events, he will perform activities to suit the needs of more customers by promoting special makeup while making endeavors to acquire and deliver professional knowledge, according to him.
