The last breath of the royal family of Chosen Dynasty

Emperor Gogeong's grand son Suk Lee "I will love my country till the end"

"Where does the history go while I'm still alive? I was born in Sadong Palace among seven palaces which King Geongjo built as his concubine's palatial residence in 2 Koonggeong-dong, central Seoul. My grandfather Emperor Gogeong built up the Korean Empire in a protest against Japan and moved his office & bed (Geongkoong) to Kyungun Palace (Duksoo Palace) in Geong-dong, where numerous foreign embassies were located so that Japan could not look down on Korea. After Queen Myeongseong was murdered, my grandfather sent secret envoys to Hague and never signed any unequal treaties even if the Japanese and the pro-Japanese Korean officials came into the palace with guns and knives to threaten him to sign. In order to prevent Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905, national humiliation and the ruins of Korea, he was standing up to Wonryeong Lee (a traitor), who brought poisoned rice drink from the emperor of Japan to my grandfather. But the emperor didn't let go of his hope for his people, until his death. I grew up in Sadong Palace where 40 court ladies were still residing and I watched Geongkoong (king's office & bed), Byeolkoong (a detached palace) were getting ruined by the Japanese who even made a zoo (Changgyeong Won) in the palace to degrade Korea."

The last Korean imperial grandchild denounces the emperor of Japan who does not admit what they have done.

Lee obtained the evidence document of Dokdo ownership written in Emperor Gogyeong's royal order from New York.

Lee has been denouncing, in his fee position, Japan's military prostitution issue, continuous worship at Yasukuni Shrine and Dokdo territory provocation. The Korean Imperial Family Cultural Foundation has revealed that the Wednesday meeting has been going on for 1,000 times and there are 200 registered Japanese military sexual slaves and dozens of survivors. Lee has been visiting Seoul's Tapgol Park every year to meet them and trying hard to publicize the realities. Lee learned that one of those women who passed away recently donated her life savings of 50 million won ($48,000) to a school. What the surviving women want, Lee emphasized, is not a compensation but the Japanese government's acknowledgement of what they have done and their sincere apologies. Lee supports president Park's requirement of 'apology first' before she holds a Korea-Japan summit as a wise diplomacy. Lee is possessing Dokdo related documents. When he went to America and while he was leading a hard life he obtained the evidence document of Dokdo ownership written in Emperor Gogyeong's royal order on 25 October 1900 when he was in New York. Lee reads this out to people whenever there is an opportunity or when he gives a history lecture. He said that people and government officials have to visit Dokdo on regular basis.

King Yi Chin's (Prince Yi Kang) attempt to exile in Shanghai Interim Government and the last imperial grandchilren's  anti-Japanese Independence Movement

Most of Emperor Gogeong's imperial grandchildren have been doing anti-Japanese Independence Movement and are patriots. King Gogeong and Queen Myeongseong tried to prevent the fall of the nation with their soul and might but failed to do it. Many royal descendents joined in Shanghai Interim Government after Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905.

"King Yi Chin (father of Lee) was arrested while he was trying to exile in Shanghai Interim Government on November 1919. He participated in Independence Movement in Dandong, Shinnuiju (North Korea). Daedongdan was the organization. Had he gone to Shanghai the Korean Empire would have been continued."

If Russia won the war against Japan and there were no Anglo-Japanese Alliance and The Katsura-Taft Agreement of Roosevelt regime they could have prevented the fall of the nation even after the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905. The world's powers turned to Japan and Emperor Gogeong was helpless and thus began the nation's 36 years of hardship. There was nothing Emperor Gogeong and Queen Myeongseong had not done while adjusting the relations between Russia, the UK and the US. They tried to modernize the nation, built hospitals and educational institutions. The people were unified under the emperor. However, despite all of these efforts just a few traitors sold the whole nation. Emperor Gogeong wanted to move to Russia to establish an interim government and sent 300,000 Japanese yen to the Russian emperor Nicholas. The money is equivalent to 1 trillion won ($1billion) however, the royal family is nonexistent now and there is no way to receive the money back. The ambassador Bumjoon Lee who were in charge of the money killed himself. And the pro-Japanese group concealed or destroyed the history.

The Imperial Family Culture Expo could influence more than the Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games

The Korea Imperial Cultural Foundation is planning to launch 'The Imperial Family Culture Expo within 3 years when the government fund is confirmed. If it is realized the ripple effect might be bigger than the Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games. There are not many people who know the meaning of humanity, loyalty, decorum, knowledge and faith nowadays. The Korea Imperial Cultural Foundation has an ambition to introduce the values of both tangible and intangible imperial culture of Korea, and superiority of education and social ethics, and its competitiveness in history in order to protect and to succeed cultural heritage.
